I am selling my 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille convertible. This is a beautifully restored classic. It has a brand new Starfire White Pearl paint job with all rechromed parts, including the bumpers and all grille pieces. The dash was and bumpers were completely taken apart and rechromed as well. The grille pieces were all sand blasted and powdercoated for protection and a very clean look. It still has all of the original pieces and emblems that were also rechromed. The convertible top is brand new with all new cylinders, switch, pump and hoses. It has a brand new windshield and all the other glass is there with no cracks. The interior is two tone white and black with new carpet kit throughout, new cushions, and door panels. There are brand new 20 inch rims with new 245-45-20 tires. Brakes are 100% redone including all 4 wheel cylinders, 4 hoses, master cylinder, bearing, shoes and resurfaced drums. Also has 4 new shocks and this classic just got an alignment. I also put in new U-joints which is a three piece. The engine was completely gone through and repaired- New fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, rear main seal, valve cover gaskets including powder coated black valae cover and air filter housing. All new belts, power steering hose, rebuilt carburetor, rebuilt water pump, all new fluids and new battery. The transmission was 100% rebuilt ORIGINAL! Also has new wiring harness. Only TOP OF THE LINE work done on this classic! This car runs and drives great! It needs a couple little things to be 100% finished but nothing major. The wiring harness needs to be ran to the brake lights and headlights. Also the back window switched are new and work great but the chrome on the glass frames in the rear weren't rechromed. The driver side multi switch dosent work but you can still get the windows up an down because they still have power going to them. The pigtail is wired and ready to just plug in the switch for that issue! the other moldings and pieces left to finish the look of the exterior, and the rechromed parts for the steering wheel. You can tell in the pictures the minor things that need to be finished. I have over 40k into this car and hate to sell it but I have no choice. I have had many classic cars and this is one of my favorites. I am not selling this classic because of any problems with the car, I just don't have the space for it anymore. HAPPY BIDDING AND GOOD LUCK!!

GM recalling 2013 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX over transmission software
Thu, 21 Mar 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued recalls for the 2013 Buick LaCrosse and 2013 Cadillac SRX due to a problem with the software for the transmission controller. On about 27,000 SRX and LaCrosse models, the transmission could accidentally be shifted to Sport mode, which would reduce the amount of engine braking drivers experience.
NHTSA says this could increase the risk of a crash, but, fortunately, the required fix is simply an update to the software.
While we're on the subject of General Motors vehicle recalls, a small number (48) of compressed natural gas versions of the 2011 Chevrolet Express are also being recalled for a potential risk of fire or explosion. Yikes. Both official recall notices are posted below.
GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:
7,610,862 vehicles in North America being recalled for unintended ignition key rotation. 6,805,679 are in the United States.
Autoblog's ultimate holiday rides
Tue, Dec 16 2014Over the hills and through the woods, it's the time of year when many of us visit family and friends for the holidays. But getting there can be a chore. It's cold and snowy across much of the United States, and even if the climate is favorable, the drive to grandmother's house often is not. Think back to holiday road trips of yore: They probably included crying babies, antsy children, hungover adults and frequent bathrooms stops all around. Now, we're all at different life stages here at Autoblog, and the perfect car for one staffer might be as useful as a team of Budweiser Clydesdales to another. Some of us bounce from family event to family event with children and a labrador in tow, while others prefer a quieter, simpler holiday. But whatever the endeavor, we all need wheels. With that in mind, here is the unofficial Autoblog list of the ultimate cars in which to tackle the holiday season. 2015 Ferrari FF To borrow a chestnut from Top Gear presenter James May, "As you'd expect, I've done this properly." That oddly voluptuous ruby bolide in the photo above? It's a 2015 Ferrari FF – all 652 all-wheel-driven horsepower of it. What makes a Ferrari the ideal for holiday time in PaukertLand? My Midwestern winter breaks are wonderful, but they're typically frenetic and slushy, involving a lot of schlepping from house to house and even city to city, not to mention inevitable last-minute runs for forgotten presents and dinner ingredients. Needless to say, a powerful V12 is a welcome ally for such duties. And this one isn't just a friend when the road is clear. The FF has been gifted Ferrari's novel 4RM AWD system, and despite sitting lower to the ground than, say, an SUV, it's a pretty effective tool for real winter driving, especially when outfitted with a set of snow tires. Unlike other Ferraris, it's also a rather practical thing, with legitimate seating for four adults and 15.9 cubic feet of cargo space – that's precisely as much room as a Mercedes E-Class – and you can fold the rear chairs and cram 28.2 cubes-worth of holiday cheer in the back. Okay, so it's far from cheap and fuel economy isn't that great, but who cares? Just drop a paddle-shifted gear or two, bury the throttle and Repeat The Sounding Joy.
