This auction is for a 1960 Cadillac 4 Door Deville Pillarless Hard Top. It has its original 390 V-8 (56,000 actual miles), Automatic Trans, Power Steering, Power Brakes (master brake cylinder not building pressure so brakes are not working), Power Windows and Power Seat. It basically was an all original car that the prior owner was driving on special occasions until he parked it 12 years ago. He told me prior to that he had purchased it from the original owner in Mass. It needed some body work down low so he had that repaired and a paint job done back then. Due to poor storage the old repair shows. There is a lot of paint peelage that has been brushed touched. The main floor section is all intact but there are spots here and there that are starting to show through. Drivers side inner rocker is rusted out and one of the floor braces between the 2 doors on the drivers side is rusted out also. I cleaned out the original matting in the trunk. The floor is intact but is getting thin. Im sure all this can be saved if you want to take the time. Depends on how nice you want to make it. The overall outside of the body is decent. Some old repair on the bottom of front fenders and lower rear quarters showing. Roof has a small dent on drivers side. The hood on the car is rusty and needs replaced. It does open and close fine but is rough. I installed a boat tank as an optional fuel source just in case the tank had dirt, cleaned the points and the car fired right up. Motor runs real nice! I did notice the water pump is a little noisy but is not leaking. Power steering works beautiful. Transmission goes in all the gears. I did take the master brake cylinder off, cleaned it out, got it working but only for a few tries. It is not building pressure so it needs replacement. If this is a concern for shipping we can get a new master cylinder and get the brakes working at an additional cost. The interior in the car is all intact and not too bad of shape. Two cracks in the dash pad, head liner is good and the carpets need to be thrown out. They are hardend and have a musty smell. I tried the lights, windows and seat etc and everything worked. The radio is in the trunk and I do have the front parking light housing trims. They are in nice shape. Five good wide white wall tires. Would be a great project 60's era car to fix up or an excellent parts car. We have prior New Hampshire registration and proper dealer transfer forms for a smooth transaction. Selling at NO RESERVE. Please be serious in your bids. We require a $500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auctions end. Take a look at my other auctions we have listed. A 1947 Pontiac Convertible with 17,000 actual miles, a 1923 Buick Speedster and a 1960 Ford Thunderbird. GM lays off 450 at Lansing Grand River Assembly

Mon, Dec 8 2014

General Motors will lay off 450 employees at its Lansing Grand River factory, The Detroit News reports, which is 100 more than the company said it'd be letting go last month. Lansing Grand River Assembly currently builds the Cadillac ATS and CTS, both of which have suffered sluggish sales, with the smaller sedan down 20 percent through last month and the larger model down 2.3 percent, The Detroit News reports. "We are adjusting plant production capacity to better align with market demand. Beginning in January 2015, the plant will operate on a single shift," a GM statement read, before explaining that not all the laid off Grand River employees will be jobless. Of the employees that have been laid off to make room for the single work shift, around 200 will transfer to the Lansing Delta Township factory, home of the Lambda-platform crossovers, GM's statement confirmed. The News expects this one-shift arrangement to continue until at least late next year, when the Alpha-platform Chevy Camaro transitions from General Motors' Oshawa, Ontario factory to Lansing. Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said at last month's LA Auto Show, "It may not necessarily be permanent, a time may come when we've gained momentum and we can reinstate it. But for now, the adjustment to production capacity is in alignment with our plans for 2015."

Cadillac boss says small SUV 'at least four years away'

Sat, Jan 24 2015

Since Johan de Nysschen's takeover as brand president, there's a lot of buzz around Cadillac. Now, the brand's leader is now giving a little more clarity about when we might see some of the company's future vehicles, including its compact crossover. "Product development life cycles being what they are, I don't have a date in mind but I would estimate it is at least four years away," said de Nysschen about a small Cadillac CUV. The comments were made to Reuters during the Washington Auto Show. The vehicle is part of Cadillac's eight-model, $12 billion reinvention through 2020. Interestingly, de Nysschen told Autoblog at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show that he estimated the compact luxury CUV to arrive by early 2018. The boss also indicated that Cadillac would get a sedan to slot below the ATS some time in 2017, and the previously spied SRX replacement, possibly called the XT5, would debut in 2016. In the meantime, the company's flagship CT6 is being unveiled at the 2015 New York Auto Show in April. The wait for a luxury compact CUV makes Cadillac one of the later entries into the segment. The space is already filling with vehicles like the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class, Lexus NX and Lincoln MKC. Small crossovers in general seem to still be growing in sales. While building a better brand in the US, de Nysschen also wants to grow Cadillac in Europe in the future. He told Reuters that he wants diesel vehicles ready for 2019 to appeal to customers there. Some might even be offered in the US. News Source: ReutersImage Credit: Scott Olson / Getty Images Design/Style Cadillac Crossover Diesel Vehicles Luxury de nysschen

Cadillac's Euro reboot may have implications for US models, sales

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Firmly on the comeback trail in the US, Cadillac is still trying to get out of the starting blocks in Europe. At the Geneva Motor Show in March, Cadillac' senior execs revealed plans to grow the brand's presence in a luxury market dominated by the big three German marques, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
GM President Dan Ammann says he sees "enormous" potential for Cadillac globally.
Over the past 20 years, the General Motors premium nameplate has tried and failed multiple times to break into the European market. This time around, Cadillac recognizes that progress will be modest at best, and depends on specific changes to models, some of which may impact the brand's US lineup. Planned new sales tactics in Europe may also impact the way Cadillac does business on this side of the pond.
