you are looking at my 1960 cadillac 62 series 6 window sedan. it has 29,935 original miles!!! you just read that right.....30k ORIGINAL MILES! here is what i can tell you about the history of the car. i have old oil records that state the car had about 21k miles back in 1962 at an oil change. in 1976 it only had 26k miles. between 1976 and 2011 it basically sat in the owner's garage undriven! after the owner passed away his son sold it to a cadillac dealer. i obtained it from the cadillac dealer. it is an excellent condition true survivor. never wrecked, never restored, etc. its a living time capsule! the exterior paint is in very good condition. it is by no means show quality paint. there are various dings, scratches, spider webbing, etc in the paint. it is perfect as a sunday afternoon cruiser. the interior is in fabulous condition. the seats are unbelievable. seats are in super nice shape. the seats are a very unique and rare turquoise blue. when we bought the car it was a bit musty from the old carpet. we bought some new cut pile carpet and installed it. that took the smell away immediately. the interior trim is excellent as well. the chrome on this car is fabulous. chrome is everywhere on this car too! it is in excellent condition and it is everywhere! the curved front window is cool too. everything works that i can think of. all the turn signals, radio, wipers, headlights, horn, antenna motor, power windows, power seats, interior lights, etc all work!!!! the 2 little turn signals on the front hood scoop even work as well! its hard to believe but true. the only think standing between this being a 75k car is a high quality paint job. all of the original cardboard dividers are still in the trunk!! try to find those in any 1960 currently for sale. i heard that the cardboard alone can sell upwards of $2k!!! i had carburetor work done by a master mechanic. the mechanic works on high end autos and race cars and he personally rebuilt the carburetor. it is new with some performance parts. the cadillac starts right up! i invested quite a bit in that. we also had to put a new gas tank on this car because the original one had basically rusted out from sitting so long and we didnt wanna chance contaminating the engine. the only feature not currently working is the gas tank gauge. it was working before we changed the fuel tank. when we installed the new tank we placed a detector line in the wrong place. it is an easy fix that we could do before the sale or i can discount the price to have it fixed. but rest assured its an easy fix and it will work! we sanded and undercoated the whole undercarriage of the car with satin black diamond grip paint. makes for a nice clean look and will protect it from rust for years to come. when i bought this car i wanted a cool big car to drive the kids around town in. it is all of that and more. people GO CRAZY WHEN THEY SEE THIS CAR. everyone, including cops, want to pull you over and talk about it. people try to buy it each time i take it into town. my kids love it because there are no seatbelts in it and the car was grandfathered into the new law requiring seatbelts. i have had the cops talking to me thru the front window as my 4 year old was standing next to me on the front seat!! its legal with this car. it is huge. you can seat 8 people comfortably. plenty of leg room. huge trunk. you could fit 3 people in the trunk! the bubble provides so much headroom. i am 6 ft 4 inches tall and this is the most comfortable car i have owned. huge steering wheel. it is a shade over 19 feet long. huge fins. strong engine. i dare you to find a lower mileage survivor than this. it is the 62 series 6 window sedan. some people call it a deville but i think its just called the 62 series. 1959 and 1960 were the most popular cadillac years so finding parts is not an issue at all. feel free to ask questions!! thanks for looking!!

GM design boss Welburn says Lincoln isn't a Cadillac rival [w/poll]
Thu, 05 Dec 2013General Motors Vice President of Global Design, Ed Welburn, had some dismissive words for a certain cross-town luxury brand during an interview with Car and Driver. When asked about his thoughts on Lincoln, Welburn deflected, before saying, "I don't consider Lincoln to be a competitor for Cadillac."
"They're not a global luxury brand. I don't consider them a competitor. Are they a competitor for Buick? Quite possibly. But not for Cadillac," GM's head designer explained. Welburn, who's been at the helm of GM Design North America since 2003 and is the first to hold the position of VP of Global Design, has been instrumental in the styling renaissance at GM, so predictably, Car and Driver's interview with him focused on the design aspect of cars.
During the interview, Welburn explicitly denied plans for a reborn Cadillac XLR, even as a new Chevrolet Corvette is hitting the market and strides are being made with Cadillac's V-Series performance arm saying, "We have a lot of cars that we're working on for the Cadillac brand. The XLR is not one of them right now."
2015 Cadillac ATS-V gunning for the BMW M3
Mon, 03 Jun 2013Spy photographers have spotted something interesting. Cadillac engineers have taken to public streets with the upcoming ATS-V and a playmate: the current BMW M3 Sedan. The prototype seen here wears a more aggressive front fascia, flared fenders and beefy brakes. Quad exhaust tips and what looks to be a small lip spoiler on the trunk deck sum up the most obvious visual changes over the standard ATS outside. Word has it the ATS-V will bow with the same twin-turbo 3.6-liter V6 available in the nose of the XTS. In that application, the engine is good for a stout 410 horsepower, which should be more than enough to hustle the sedan around a track.
Other details are still murky, however. First and foremost: will GM offer the ATS-V with an honest manual transmission, like it does with its big brother, the CTS-V? Something tells us we won't have long to wait to find out - the machine will likely bow next year as a 2015 model. Until then, dig in on our newest bevy of spy photos.
2016 Cadillac ATS-V First Drive [w/video]
Sun, Apr 26 2015If you get hot and bothered for hot-rodded sedans and coupes, you probably know that Germans have long dominated that cutthroat scene. For years, the Audi RS/BMW M/Mercedes-AMG triumvirate has ruled the microcosm of grunty, mid-level luxury cars. But a funny thing happened when Cadillac's first V car hit the market in 2004. Since the CTS-V crashed the high horsepower party, German tuning houses started thinking less about the "Daddy's Caddy" stereotypes and more about the next imminent threat – in this case, the inevitable high-horsepower spinoff of the smaller, nimbler Cadillac ATS. The standard ATS' defense against the German triad hasn't been triumphant so far (GM's Michigan plant was idled for three weeks in 2014 due to excess inventory), but the souped-up 2016 Cadillac ATS-V presents a fresh bid to put the Teutonic competition on alert. The ATS-V's flared bodywork and quad exhaust pipes offer bits of visual shock and awe, but significant hardware upgrades back up the go-fast looks. Front and center is a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V6 with reworked internals including a charge-air cooler, titanium connecting rods, and titanium-aluminide turbines. The new engine produces 464 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, up a staggering 262 hp and 173 lb-ft compared to a base, four-cylinder ATS. Those output figures eclipse the BMW M3/M4 (425 hp, 406 lb-ft) and Audi RS5 (450 hp, 317 lb-ft), but lag slightly behind the V8-powered Mercedes-AMG C63 (476 hp, 479 lb-ft), and more so the C63 S (503 hp, 516 lb-ft). The chassis benefits from several structural braces, most notably a shear panel intended to boost front-end stiffness. Extra poundage from the add-ons are minimized through lighter-weight materials – in the case of the shear panel, stamped aluminum. Cadillac says though it intended to make the ATS the quickest car in its segment (stated 0-60 mph times between 3.8 and 3.9 second virtually match the BMW M4 and Mercedes-AMG C63 S' 3.9 figure), the development team says they also focused on subjective qualities like turn-in quickness and steering response. As such, toe links have been replaced with ball joints, mounts have been retuned, and reworked magnetic damping offer greater responsiveness. Six suspension bushings have been stiffened and ten have been completely redesigned, and the Performance Traction Management system that tames beasts like the Corvette Z06 and Camaro ZL1 also helps lay down power in the ATS-V.
