1957 Cadillac Coupe. Interesting car and excellent example of 1950's style! I was going to restore it but, I don't have time for it. Overall complete and straight. Devoid (missing) some side trim and emblems. Previous owner wanted the Rockabilly Hotrod style. He no longer has those pieces he removed. Not my cup of tea but, actually looks pretty cool. You can restore it or leave it the way it is. That's up to you. Car was originally blue, now in a black primer. The engine seems to run good aside from some lifter noise, starts right up, idles well, plenty of power. I recently had the carburetor's both replaced with new Edlebrock's and new quality fuel pump. Recent plug wires and cap as well. Engine has been properly cleaned and painted Cadillac blue. The transmission goes into all gears, the brakes stop but, will need to be gone through for safety reasons before any regular driving. Tires are old and need to be replaced. Windshield and gasket was recently replaced with new (not cheap), car had a previous electrical fire so I had the dash rewired and also had the dash board repainted and new dash pad installed. Looks nice! Nearly everything electrically works as it should (except radio and clock). Some of the side glass has cracks however the glass is flat and easily replaceable. The power windows all work well. Even power seat works! Interior is the original and basically all there however will need to be completely reupholstered. This car can be used as it is with some TLC, or you could restore it? It is sold as is, where is with no warranty. It is over 50 years old, please keep that in mind. No your not going to fly in and drive it back to New York. Just send a tow truck or transporter and I can assist with loading it up. I have a clear Title on this car. THIS CADILLAC IS PRICED TO SELL. DONT WAIT. NO FIRST TIME OR NEGATIVE BIDDERS PLEASE! Contact me prior with you intentions if you fall into this category. Please be sure all your funds are readily available prior to bidding. Get permission from you father, wife, doctor or lawyer prior to bidding. Paypal deposit due within 24 hrs (250.00), balance in full within 5 business days in CASH, cashiers check (5 day hold), or can arrange wire transfer if needed. I do not ship but, can assist on this end meeting your transport company. Located in Hemet Ca 92544. Vehicle may be sold through other means hence I retain the right to end auction at anytime. I encourage you to send in offers/bid and not to play the waiting game Please feel free to send over questions. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RENEGOCIATE AFTER AUCTIONS END. Sold AS_IS, No Warranty. Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.

2016 Cadillac CT6 to get an aluminum body?

Sat, Dec 27 2014

Well this is interesting: A hot-off-the-press report in Automobile claims the coming Cadillac CT6 will have an aluminum body. Most write-ups on the CT6 claim it will have a body that's a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel - Automobile itself wrote of "high-strength steel, aluminum, and steel stampings" in October. An all-aluminum body would be quite the reversal, contradicting the last four months of reportage and company statements on the matter. Mark Reuss, EVP of global development at General Motors, told The Detroit News in October, "We will create with the CT6, the world's most advanced body structure... [and] it's not aluminum. It's a stronger, smarter, safer premium luxury vehicle." It echoed the earlier Automobile story in saying the CT6 would use GM's "patented welding technology with high-strength steel, aluminum and steel stampings and castings." That same month, the Wall Street Journal ran a piece titled, "GM Won't Follow Aluminum Strategy in Future Cars," in which Reuss said, "making big statements around all carbon fiber, all aluminum, all magnesium, they're very interesting," and that GM wouldn't be doing it. That piece also circled back to a material mix and GM's special welding process, saying the CT6 "will have a body made of aluminum, high-strength steel and other materials, and will be 100 kilograms (220 pounds) lighter than a similar-sized car made of high-strength steel." We don't know what kind of body Cadillac's new assault on luxury is going to wear, but now we can't wait to find out. GM moving international sales HQ to Singapore from Shanghai

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

General Motors has announced that it will be moving its international headquarters from Shanghai to Singapore, a move that will see 120 employees working from the city-state by the time business opens in 2014. Meanwhile, 250 to 300 of the employees at the Shanghai office will remain in China, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
The shuffle is part of a bigger reorganization that will see GM isolate its operations in the People's Republic from its broader international efforts. This sort of divide-and-conquer strategy will allow GM to still react to emerging markets while, according to the WSJ, providing a dedicated management team for the Chinese market. The team in Singapore will be responsible for operations in Africa, southeast Asia, Australia, India, South Korea and the Middle East, on top of managing Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe, according to a statement from GM.
The shift to Singapore "will help us to create a renewed identity for CIO (Consolidated International Operations) and lead GM's umbrella strategy for the region," said GM Executive Vice President of CIO, Stefan Jacoby.
