Here is a 2008 Cadillac Cts with the best cts-v clone package you will ever find. Not many people can find all the parts that we had to find in order to clone this car, and even if they could find them, not many people would invest the money. I know I can’t get all my money back from what I spent on this car, but its time for me to get a SUV and thus my baby must go. I bought this car from the insurance company back in 2011 when it had about 35,000 miles on it. at that time it had light front end damage to the right front side of the car. The hood, right fender, bumper cover, and cooling needed to be replaced. This car honestly has every option that you could get in 2008. It has moonroof, pop up touch screen radio with navigation, heated and cool seats, HID headlights that turn when you turn the steering wheel, the 3.6 Direct Injection engine, remote start, 18” Polished Aluminum Wheels, and so much more. I love the look of the Cts-v, however I don’t need all that horsepower and I wanted to drive it all year long and thus I needed the All Wheel Drive. I am a woman and I just wanted something that was different from what everyone else had and yet I wanted it to be a safe daily driver year round. Here is a list and cost of all the cts-v parts that I had installed on this car (no modifications were done to the engine):

-Cts-v hood $1,000
-Cts-v front bumper cover will grilles $1,500
-Cts-v front impact bar, absorber, fender liners $500
-Cts-v Side Rocker Moldings $400

-Cts-v Rear Bumper Cover $500
-Cts-v inside door panels with dark wood trim $800

-Cts-v Suede Steering wheel and shifter $500
-Cts-v Center stack and center console $400
-Cts-v Brembo Brake Calipers, Rotors, and brake hoses $2,000
-Cts-v Center trunk brake light $300

-Cts-v 3 piece emblem kit on the front doors and trunk $200

-Cts-v Black wheel center caps $100

Total cost that I spent to make this car a Cts-v Clone $8,200

I wanted to install the cts-v wheels as well, but the problem was that my car is an AWD and needs the front wheels to be the exact same size in the rear of the car. Cts-v wheels are alittle bit smaller in the front then in the rear. so the only way that you could put the cts-v wheels on this car is if you could buy 4 of the cts-v front rims. you can’t use the rears because they are too wide for front use. And to find someone that was willing to sell just the front wheels out of a set of 4 wasn’t going to be easy. and to buy 4 cts-v wheels from GM was going to cost about $2,800 plus the cost of the tires. Then the next issue was going to be the tires themselves. since I wanted to drive this car in the winter, no one makes an affordable winter tire in the size needed to keep the speedometer correct.

This car runs and drives great and needs nothing. there is one or two rock chips in the front of the car and there is a mark on the rear bumper cover where I accidently backed into the garage can in my garage. The body shop told me they could repaint the rear bumper cover for about $300 but I just never got around to having it done. If you know anything about these 3.6 engines, they have issues with the timing chains and I did have all of mine replaced with the new updated timing chains. All of my oil changes were done every 7,000 miles with mobil 1 synthetic oil. tires all have about 50-60% life left. The other issue with these cars is with the moonroof, the seal between the two pieces of glass tend to leak air, so you will get a wind noise inside of the car. I had this seal replaced recently as well. It never leaked any water, but you would hear wind at about 60mph.

If for any reason you feel its to much of a risk to bid on this car with out seeing it in person first, then you are more then welcome to contact any shop near me (at your cost) and i will be more then happy to take this car to any shop of your choice for a 3rd party inspection. I do what i can to provide you with all the information i have so it will help you make the best decision you can make. I do my best to be as honest and upfront as i can be. There is nothing wrong with buying a salvage title car, however you will always get the car for less money then a clean title car. Usually you can buy that car for about 70-75% of clean title value, however that number can go up or down depending on supply and demand. Clearly a car like this might be a bit more on the high side, and yet a dodge neon with a salvage title might be a bit more on the low side.

Current Title, The current title is a MINNESOTA PRIOR SALVAGE title. Please check with your state before bidding. Other state's might require something different, so please check before you bid. All sales are final. I will provide you with a bill of sale, title, repair receipts, ect. You shouldn't need anything more then what I listed above, but if there is, let me know and I will do my best to get you anything you need.

Shipping, Shipping is at Buyers expense. If you can't come pick this up in person and you want me to ship it for you, I can set that up. Clearly the farther away you are, the more it's going to cost. Average shipping costs are about $150 in Minnesota, $300 in upper Midwest, $500 to outer Midwest (Texas,Ohio,Montana,Colorado), and coastal areas are about $700-$900. Depending on where you are, it could take anywhere from 2 to 8 business days before you receive this vehicle.

Deposit, After this auction ends, I will need a $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit with in 48hrs of the end of this auction. If you come here and decide that you don't want to buy the vehicle for whatever reason, I will refund $250 of that deposit and keep $250. However if you never show up, then I will keep all the $500. Deposit can be Cash in person only, Pay Pal, Certified Bank Check, or a Bank Wire Transfer.

Total Balance Due, Any remaining balance must be paid with in 5 business days of the end of the auction. The balance can ONLY be paid with cash (in person only), wire transfer, or Certified Bank Check. If you do pay with a Certified Bank Check (cashiers check), I will hold the title and receipts for 14 days until that check clears and then mail the title and receipts to you. NO PERSONAL CHECKS!

BALANCE NEEDS TO BE WIRE TRANSFER OR CASHIERS CHECK. NO PERSONAL CHECKS.

I WILL NOT SELL TO SOMEONE OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES UNLESS YOU CAN PAY AMERICAN CASH IN PERSON WHEN YOU COME TO PICK UP THE CAR.

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.

Cadillac ELR update delayed over autonomous drive systems issues

Fri, Nov 28 2014

Rumors had been circulating that the 2016 Cadillac ELR would bow in Los Angeles recently, featuring, in Cadillac's own words, "engineering enhancements." The rumors and that quote are as far as it got – the updated ELR pulled a no-show in LA, and no one outside of the brand appears to know when it will appear. GM Inside News says its sources at Cadillac pinned the ELR's absence on some autonomous driving features not being ready to reveal. According to GMI, Cadillac insiders say the upgraded ELR will be a "highly autonomous vehicle," and the company needs more time to gets its systems polished. The site says "it's not unreasonable to assume that ELR will be [the] vehicle" that gets Cadillac's Super Cruise technology, but that seems a lot more involved than "engineering enhancements," and in September Cadillac said we'd see it sometime in the next two years. It's possible the wait for the 2016 ELR and its secrets might only be a couple of months: the next-generation Chevrolet Volt, which shares a platform with the ELR and whose engineering updates we know quite a bit about, is scheduled to appear at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show in January.

GM recalls full-size truck, SUVs and vans over faulty shifter mechanism

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Twelve different General Motors vehicles from the 2013 model year, up to 54,686 units in total, are being recalled over two potential issues with their steering columns. The models in question, all full-size trucks, SUVs or vans, are the: Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Express, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Savana, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL.
The affected vehicles were built with a fractured parking lock cable or "a malformed steering column lock actuator gear in the lock module assembly." As a consequence, they could shift out of park without the brake pedal being applied or with the key removed or in the off position.
A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that the recall should begin on January 17. GM will notify owners, at which time they can take their vehicles to their dealers for repair free of charge. Have a look at the bulletin below for more information.
