Cadillac is bringing a new concept to Pebble Beach

Cadillac will debut a new concept Thursday in Monterey. The company also released teaser video, but it only shows us a few glimpses of interior parts and a concept drawing that seems to show a very minimalistic dashboard. The big draw appears to be the large screen filling in for instruments and infotainment. According to Cadillac, the screens are curved OLED panels co-developed with LG, and the technology behind them will appear in a future Cadillac. Bringing a new concept to the famous Monterey Car Week is a return to form for Cadillac. In past years the company brought beautiful concepts like the full-size, four-door Ciel convertible, and the taught, athletic Elmiraj coupe. The latter of these showcased designed cues that trickled into production Cadillacs. No word (or pictures) on the exterior yet. We'll be sure to have complete coverage of the concept later this week. Cadillac partners with Saks Fifth Avenue for limited-edition ELR

There's no softening the blow with this one - this is the limited edition 2014 Cadillac ELR Saks Fifth Avenue Edition, and it costs $89,500, including $995 for destination. The special model, limited to just 100 units, is part of a holiday season collaboration between Cadillac and luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue. In addition to the ELR, there will also be a special "Frozen Escalade" window display at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store near Rockefeller Center in New York City, which will feature the 2015 Escalade with functioning LED running lamps that, as the automaker says, "appear embedded and breaking through a wall of ice."
But back to that ELR. This Saks edition plug-in hybrid coupe commands a surcharge of $14,500 over the $75,000 base model that over 85-percent of Autoblog readers polled already feel is overpriced. For that extra coin, you get an ELR wearing exclusive (to this car) White Diamond paint matched with either a jet black or light cashmere interior. Buyers will also receive an upgraded 240-volt charging station complete with professional installation, and the cars come with Cadillac's ELR Concierge service - representatives "trained in white-glove customer care" that serve as an additional point of contact beyond the dealership when it comes to topics like like battery care, charging, service scheduling and news updates.
Folks who order the Saks Fifth Avenue ELR are expected to receive their cars in March of next year. Price aside, we're sure it'll look great parked alongside the Neiman Marcus Aston Martin Vanquish Volante in owners' garages. Scroll down for Cadillac's official press blast.

Cadillac XT5 caught uncovered during photo shoot

It's only been a few weeks since Cadillac announced that its replacement for the SRX, the new XT5, is on its way. Now, we have images of it out in the open and completely free of camouflage. Obtained by a reader at Jalopnik's Opposite Lock forum, the Caddy was spotted during what user Saw930 believes was a photo shoot in New York's trendy SoHo neighborhood. There's only a pair of images, from the front and rear three-quarters, but it's enough to give us a very thorough overview of the exterior styling on the new CUV. In short, the design language that has been seen on Escalade, CTS, and upcoming CT6 has indeed made its way to the SRX replacement. The broad, egg-crate grille is perhaps the cleanest iteration of Caddy's latest styling, while the CT6-inspired headlights look sharp, as well. Expect a similar headlight pattern to the CTS, with strong LED character accents on the outside of the headlights that integrate seamlessly with the lower DRLs. In back, the taillights curve over the rear haunches and blend into an extremely strong shoulder line. It's a dynamic and aggressive piece of design that we'll need to see in person before signing off on. The rear bumper, meanwhile, is a nicely styled piece, complete with twin, integrated, rectangular tailpipes that flank a piece of (probably faux) skid plating. There's a similar off-road treatment in the front bumper, as well.
