2004 drop dead gorgeous Cadillac XLR. Spotless. Absolutely beautiful. Comes with all options as standard equipment. These cars were only manufactured from 2004 to 2009. I believe there were only about 15,000 of them made in total. Quite a few were available in 2012 because some of the 2009's were coming in from the 39 month leases. Many people kept theirs because they are an awesome vehile and the leasees just decided to keep them. About a year before the XLR's were produced Cadillac introduced it as a concept car and called it the EVOC. It was so futuristic in its design and so well accepted that they decided to produce it. They were around $85,000 new. I understand that many of the XLR's actually went to Europe. Prior to finding this one, I had only seen two of them. One in Boston, MA and the other in Delray Beach, FL. They are quite a head turner. It draws a crowd where ever I park it. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this car. Why am I selling it ?? Because I loved this one so much that I bought another one. ALL of my cars are black. I found the XLR to be a keeper but not in red. I bought an '06 in black. Exactly the same car only a different color. The crimson pearl is actually much more beautiful than the black. Now I'm not saying the black one is beautiful but just not a gorgeous as the red. This car was made to be red. It's the only color that does it the justice due. This XLR is spotless. It runs great and drives great. I just ran it through state inspection on April 10, 2013. It needed windshield wipers. Probably because they were dried out. The car was garage kept and didn't go out in the rain or snow. I have it priced very reasonably because the black one I bought has a flood damage title and I bought it right. It's a great car and since I'm going to keep the car the title doesen't matter to me but it matters to you because all I need for the red XLR is enough money to replace the money I took out of my checking account to buy the black one. BTW, I have had new Corvettes since 2001 and some very nice ones. I sold an '07 ZO6 to but the XLR. My wife doesn't drive my cars but she likes the XLR better than any Corvette I have ever had. The XLR is a "Gentleman's Corvette". This car is worth every penny of the "buy it now" price. Happy bidding and good luck. Any questions call George at 724 544-0221.

This '59 Cadillac is now on display at Toyota's museum in Japan
Tue, Dec 20 2016The Toyota Automobile Museum is different from a lot of other automaker collections in one very interesting way: It doesn't focus solely on Toyota's own automobiles. While the home team is certainly well represented, the love is spread to plenty of non-Toyota brands and vehicles that are significant to automotive history. And that permanent collection now includes the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible you see here. Yes, the '59 Caddy has the biggest tail fins ever, which makes it measurably significant. You still wouldn't expect to see it in a museum in Japan, though. After updates to the facility and its exhibits finish early next year, the 67-vehicle collection will also include such greats as a Renault 5 (known here as the Le Car), a '64 Ford Mustang, an Audi Quattro, a first-gen Honda Insight, and a Lotus Elite. Someone over there has good taste. You can visit the Toyota Automobile Museum the next time you're in Nagakute City, which is right outside Nagoya. We're booking our tickets now. GM earnings rise 1% as buyers pay more for popular pickups
Thu, Aug 1 2019DETROIT — General Motors said Thursday that higher prices for popular pickup trucks and SUVs helped overcome slowing global sales and profit rose by 1% in the second quarter. The Detroit automaker said it made $2.42 billion, or $1.66 per share, from April through June. Adjusting for restructuring costs, GM made $1.64 per share, blowing by analyst estimates of $1.44. Quarterly revenue fell 2% to $36.06 billion, but still beat estimates. Analysts polled by FactSet expected $35.97 billion. Global sales fell 6% to 1.94 million vehicles led by declines in North America and Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. The company says sales in China were weak, and it expects that to continue through the year. In the United States, customers paid an average of $41,461 for a GM vehicle during the quarter, an increase of 2.2%, as buyers went for loaded-out pickups and SUVs, according to the Edmunds.com auto pricing site. The U.S. is GM's most profitable market. Chief Financial Officer Dhivya Suryadevara said she expects the strong pricing to continue, especially as GM rolls out a diesel pickup and new heavy-duty trucks in the second half of the year. "We think the fundamentals do remain strong, especially in the truck market," she said, adding that strength in the overall economy and aging trucks now on the road should help keep the trend going. Light trucks accounted for 83.1% of GM's sales in the quarter, and pickup truck sales rose 8.5% as GM transitioned to new models of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, according to Edmunds, which provides content to The Associated Press. As usual, GM made most of its money in North America, reporting $3 billion in pretax earnings. International operations including China broke even, while the company spent $300 million on its GM Cruise automated vehicle unit. Its financial arm made $500 million in pretax income. Suryadevara said GM saw $700 million in savings during the quarter from restructuring actions announced late last year that included cutting about 8,000 white-collar workers through layoffs, buyouts and early retirements. The company also announced plans to close five North American factories, shedding another 6,000 jobs. About 3,000 factory workers in the U.S. whose jobs were eliminated at four plants will be placed at other factories, but they could have to relocate. GM expects the restructuring to generate $2 billion to $2.5 billion in annual cost savings by the end of this year.
