Up for your consideration is a beautiful 1985 Cadillac Seville. This is a low mileage car with only 74522 miles on it. To the best of my knowledge this is the correct mileage. The car is in great shape, and runs and drives well. Transmission shifts beautifully with no jerking. The car is equipped with all of the Cadillac options for 1985 except for the sunroof. It does have the factory installed faux convertible top on it which was recently replaced. It is also equipped with the optional Kelsey Hayes spoke wheels offered by Cadillac at the time. These wheels are in fair shape with a little discoloration of the chrome on a couple of them, but all in all look really great considering they are about 28 yrs. old. Another option it has that I had installed is a remote 12 disk CD player located in the trunk. This system works great and is controlled from a controller attached to the dash. The A/C is climate control as in all Cadillac's and works fine both heating and cooling. The car is finished in Firethorn Blue and had a repaint about 4 yrs. ago. The paint still looks really good. Chrome is in great shape also. it is equipped with semi-wide white wall tires which have about 60% of their tread left on them. The interior is all original with the exception of the headliner which was replaced four years ago with the original type material. The seats are all leather and in excellent shape with no tears or major scuffs. The door panels also in great shape with no cracks or tears in the vinyl. One thing that does not work on the car is the auto leveling system. About a year ago the compressor, although it still runs, does not put out enough air pressure to raise the car. I have been unable to find a replacement compressor, therefore that system is now controlled manually by a valve stem near the gas tank filler under the rear license plate.
For anyone who is a fan of the so called "hump back" design of this generation of Seville this is a great example of a great auto. This design was used on the Seville from 1980 thru 1985. One of the complaints about this car was the 4.1 Liter engine not having enough power. It is true it is a little under powered but it was not meant to be used as a race or drag race car and performs beautifully on the highway.
I drove this car for several years as my daily driver and now in the last several months it has only been out for an occasional car show.
I am listing this with no reserve with what I feel is a low starting bid. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

Why we can't have better headlights here in the U.S.
Tue, Mar 13 2018It wouldn't be a European auto show if we weren't teased with at least one mainstream vehicle we can't have here. At the Geneva Motor Show last week, the small but vocal contingent of shooting-brake buffs lamented that the Mazda6 wagon won't be coming to our shores, although they can take comfort in the fact that the vehicle won't get the torquey 250-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine we'll get here. Mercedes-Benz also announced a new headlight technology in Geneva that likely won't be available here anytime soon. It's just the latest in a long line of innovative and potentially lifesaving front-lighting solutions that the federal government doesn't allow in this country due to outdated standards — and a current lack of leadership at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Mercedes-Benz's new Digital Light system that debuted in Geneva uses a computer chip to activate more than a million micro-reflectors to better illuminate the road ahead. The Digital Light headlamps works with the vehicle's cameras, sensors and navigation mapping to adjust lighting for the given location and situation and to detect other road users. The Digital Light technology also serves as an extended head-up display of sorts by projecting symbols on the pavement ahead to alert drivers to, say, slippery conditions or pedestrians in the road. And it can even project lines on the road in a construction zone or through tight curves to show the driver the correct path. Digital Light will be available on Mercedes-Maybach vehicles later this year, although like any technology it's bound to trickle down to less expensive vehicles. That is, if we ever get it here in the U.S. Audi, a leader in automotive lighting, has repeatedly run into snags trying to bring state-of-the-art car headlights to the U.S. The German luxury automaker's recently introduced matrix laser headlight system, which performs many of the same trick as Mercedes-Benz's Digital Light, also isn't legal on U.S. roads. And five years after the introduction of its matrix-beam LED lighting, which illuminates more of the road without blinding oncoming motorists with brights by simultaneously operating high and low beams, Audi still can't bring that technology to the U.S. either.

Jay Leno welcomes a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V into the garage
Tue, Nov 17 2015After checking out a multitude of classic cars and customs over the past few weeks, Jay Leno switches things up with a modern performance machine in the latest video from the garage – a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. Leno is curious about Caddy's attempt to challenge the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S, and he takes a long, technical look at the sedan with chief engineer David Leone. Not content to just peek under the hood, Leno puts the CTS-V up on the rack to see what it packs underneath the svelte body. Once he gets the lowdown on the Caddy's engineering, it's time for a drive. Leno also flexes his interviewing skills while behind the wheel and gets even more info about the CTS-V's capabilities from Leone. He seems fairly impressed, but Leno's most entertaining question about the 640-horsepower sedan is whether it can do a burnout. He provides a definitive answer to that at the end of the clip.
