1983 Cadillac Seville "slantback", Great Solid Clean Driver, Full Cabriolet Roof on 2040-cars
Willoughby, Ohio, United States
This is a NO RESERVE listing. This car was part of the collection of a local car collector who has recently passed away. He kept about 20 specialty cars in a warehouse as his collection. This Seville was always garaged and not driven in snow or bad weather. This Seville runs and drives very nicely and it is a comfortable, clean and solid driver. This Seville has the following equipment and options:
This is a clean, nice-condition vintage Seville. The exterior and body are clean and in very presentable condition. The paint is nice with a good gloss remaining and no major defects. The car looks very good overall. The interior of this car is very good- the leather seats are in excellent condition and the carpets and upholstery are clean and very nice. This interior is probably the best feature of the car- it is very clean and looks great. This car starts, runs and drives very well. Recent service includes an oil change, radiator fluid exchange, brake service and new starter. This car is smooth, powerful and drives very nicely. The tires have good tread. This car doesn't have any known mechanical problems. This is a fun old car and a nice driver- a great old classic you can enjoy the way it is. The engine is strong and powerful, the transmission shifts well, the brakes stop well and the ride is smooth. The power trunk release and pull-down works, the original factory radio works great, the power locks and windows are working, the driver's seat forward/backward plus up/down controls work and the cruise control works. This is a 1983 car and as such it is not brand new. This is not a restored car nor a Pebble Beach concours vehicle. It is sold as-is with no guarantee. I see no reason the car couldn't make your drive home but I stress that I can't guarantee against breakdowns. Here is a complete list of every known defect in the car: There is a small ding toward the bottom of the right front door. The front grille and left headlight surround are cracked. The rubber door weatherstripping is a bit worn. The air conditioning is fully intact and present, but it is not blowing cold. The title mileage reads as non-actual. The passenger power seat controls do not work and the driver's seat tilt functions do not appear to work either. There is a slight exhaust leak (not particularly loud). There are small, normal and expected nicks, faults and flaws here and there throughout the exterior. The rear bumper fillers have been repaired but it isn't a perfect job. There is some minor surface rust, for example inside the door jambs. The power antenna always stays up. That's it- that is every known fault or flaw. I feel confident in the overall good condition and driveability of this car. For a shipping quote, please contact Angels Moving Autos at 530-245-0481. 2016 Cadillac CTS-V First Drive [w/video]
Fri, Jul 31 2015A million insects lost their lives today. Boxelder bugs and mayflies making the ultimate sacrifice in Elkhart Lake, their carapaces no buffer against a rocketing rectangle of safety glass. Their bodies gorily streaking into spangles along the diamond-faceted face of the Cadillac CTS-V. Road America is a four-mile ribbon of pavement snaking its way through the emerald center of the country's northern heartland. Since the 1950s it's seen uncountable fields of diverse racing machinery rocket over its hills and around its 14 corners. I would imagine that on those occasions the tramping of onlookers and hubbub of vehicles, both competitive and commonplace, would dissuade a great number of our six-legged friends from making their way onto the track. But today it's just me turning laps. Inconceivably just one journalist, driving the baddest roadgoing Cadillac ever made, on one of the loveliest circuits America has ever carved out. So big-winged bugs made it out to me in a vast array and a tragic sum, and I drilled through them oblivious to anything but one of the greatest days of driving I've ever had. Cadillac has turned its CTS-V from a performance sedan to a monster. For 2016 Cadillac has turned its CTS-V from a performance sedan to a monster worthy of the carnage described above. The words "epic" and "awesome" are hilariously overused on the Internet, but in the case of the CTS-V's 6.2-liter supercharged V8, their literal meanings are fitting. The capacity to produce 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque is astounding. Feeling those outputs come to growling life under my foot arch, uncorks different reactions in my brain as the day wears on: first trepidation, next cautious optimism, finally red-eyed bloodlust. A glance at the power and torque curves will show you that the charged V8 behaves more like a naturally aspirated thing than a turbo'd on/off switch. Peak torque arrives at 3,600 rpm, horsepower at 6,400, giving the engine lovely, linear power delivery. Even with top torque happening near the middle of the tach, there's no small amount of the stuff when the engine first spins up, so launching all 4,145 pounds of Detroit iron still feels exotic. Launching all 4,145 pounds of Detroit iron still feels exotic. On the roads around Wisconsin, using all of the available power is hardly advisable, but I have no trouble driving this fast car slowly (sort of).
Ghostbusters director tweets first photos of new Ecto-1
Wed, Jul 8 2015Ghostbusters is heading back to theaters next year with a new look. Rather than bringing back the original's aging comedic actors, four actresses are taking over the starring roles, including Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. Although, one of the movie's major highlights is missing from that list – the Ecto-1. Originally based on a 1959 Cadillac ambulance, we're now getting the first glimpses of the decked-out, ghost-hunting wagon from the new version thanks to director Paul Feig on Twitter. Purists might like that the Ghostbusters are sticking with a Caddy, but the producers are going for a slightly newer, more macabre approach, as well. Rather than an ambulance conversion, the latest one starts as a hearse. Feig also has his Twitter profile picture of a ghost taking over as the hood ornament, and he even tweeted a shot of the rear. @szewcik_james Okay. pic.twitter.com/sHkx1Soj6p — Paul Feig (@paulfeig) July 8, 2015 Being the Internet, Feig is being deluged both with hyperbolic vitriol for changing things, and praise for the switch. He has politely tweeted about the situation. Not blocking or deleting. I hear you all and appreciate all your input, good or bad. Thanks. https://t.co/pxZsWGeNyL — Paul Feig (@paulfeig) July 8, 2015 Keep in mind this Caddy hearse is about as old today as the original Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters' release in 1984. Having the ladies driving a '50s Caddy might stretch the imagination too far even in a movie about fighting the undead. This approach seems like a perfect compromise between old and new.
Cadillac ELR update delayed over autonomous drive systems issues
Fri, Nov 28 2014Rumors had been circulating that the 2016 Cadillac ELR would bow in Los Angeles recently, featuring, in Cadillac's own words, "engineering enhancements." The rumors and that quote are as far as it got – the updated ELR pulled a no-show in LA, and no one outside of the brand appears to know when it will appear. GM Inside News says its sources at Cadillac pinned the ELR's absence on some autonomous driving features not being ready to reveal. According to GMI, Cadillac insiders say the upgraded ELR will be a "highly autonomous vehicle," and the company needs more time to gets its systems polished. The site says "it's not unreasonable to assume that ELR will be [the] vehicle" that gets Cadillac's Super Cruise technology, but that seems a lot more involved than "engineering enhancements," and in September Cadillac said we'd see it sometime in the next two years. It's possible the wait for the 2016 ELR and its secrets might only be a couple of months: the next-generation Chevrolet Volt, which shares a platform with the ELR and whose engineering updates we know quite a bit about, is scheduled to appear at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show in January.
