ALL ORIGINAL DIESEL 1980 Cadillac Seville from the upper region of South Carolina.

I bought this rust free one owner beauty, in the late 1980's, in the Greenville/Anderson, SC area. The car had 65,000  miles on it when I bought it. This fabulous diesel powered Seville was the personal car of the wife of a top executive at the Milliken Textile Company.

This Seville was garaged from new and has all original paint except for the paint just applied to all 9 replacement ABS plastic bumper filler panels, front and rear, left and right.

The original oxblood colored leather interior is immaculate and shows no damage or wear of any kind.

Please view posted photos for condition.

The matching numbers 5.7 diesel engine starts and runs flawlessly. The transmission shifts flawlessly as well. There are no mechanical issues with this beautiful, rust free one owner Cadillac.               Perfect candidate for bio-diesel conversion!

When I first bught this Cadillac, I drove it very little and only on sunny days. This Seville has been stored inside my warehouse for the past 25+ years.

I felt it was collector quality due to the original condition, the low original miles,  the fact the original diesel had not been swapped for a 5.7 gas engine, the fact it appears to have every option available that year and treated it as such.

The car has been run regularly, but driven very little. This is apparent by the present original mileage, 67,274 (see posted photo).

Pete recently installed 2 new batteries and drove the car out of my warehouse. A new fuel filter has been installed and everything has been checked from bumper to bumper.

With reference to above, George replaced all 9 original GM vinyl bumper filler panels, both front and rear,  due to cracking and crumbling, with 9 new ABS plastic replacement panels. Also replaced were both hydraulic struts on the hood and trunk lid, 4 total.

You will find this 33 year old Cadillac Seville to be in impeccable condition. This Cadillac will go nicely in a museum or a private collection.

The opening bid is the least I will take for this beautiful and rare all original GM time machine.

The existing tires are not good from sitting so long inside my warehouse. I recommend a new set be installed before driving the car. I can have that done for the nuyer at their expense. One tire is worse than the other 3.

THIS CLASSIC CADILLAC NEEDS 4 NEW TIRES INSTALLED BEFORE IT CAN BE DRIVEN. TIRES ARE SEPERATING FROM SITTING INSIDE MY WAREHOUSE FOR SO MANY YEARS. YOU CAN HEAR THE CAR RUN AND WE CAN PUT IT ON THE LIFT IF YOU WANT TO SEE THAT IT GOES THRU THE GEARS, ETC.

High bidder must send a $500 deosit with Paypal within 24 hours of end of listing. The balance of the sale price must be received by me within 3 days of the end of the listing, in the form of a bank cashier's check sent by US Post Express Mail 2 day delivery with signature required on delivery. No exceptions. Call me with your questions. My ph: 843 696-4400

Reuss says Cadillac CT6-based Buick could happen

Wed, Apr 15 2015

Could the upcoming Cadillac CT6 and its Omega platform spawn a Buick variant? According to General Motors' product chief Mark Reuss, it could potentially be in the cards, but "not yet." "We're working on that," Reuss told Automotive News at the 2015 New York Auto Show. While there hasn't been a large, rear-drive Buick on dealerships since the Roadmaster in 1996, the company gave a big hint that it could head in that direction with the Avenir Concept, shown earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show. As Automotive News explains, a rear-drive Omega-platform Buick could be a real hit in China, where consumers buy 13 Buicks for every one Cadillac. That move would be a big help to GM's bottom line, too, as it'd significantly increase the Omega platform's economy of scale. If a large Buick based on the CT6 were to head to China, though, it likely wouldn't be a simple case of badge engineering (thank God). Reuss hinted to Automotive News that while the mixed-material construction of the CT6 platform "is very flexible," doing an "identical version of that platform or not is a different conversation." What are your thoughts? Should Buick adopt the Omega platform for an Avenir-based sedan? Should that vehicle be sold here in the US, or should it be a China-only offering? Have your say in Comments. Cadillac recalls 17,500 SRX CUVs in Canada

Fri, 03 Oct 2014

When reporting on recalls, Autoblog generally tries to focus on the US market. However, a recent campaign in Canada seems important enough to be worth mentioning because it could eventually affect American drivers. General Motors is repairing 17,481 Canadian examples of the Cadillac SRX from the 2010-2015 model years because of the possibility of a loose nut in the rear suspension. For the moment, the automaker hasn't yet announced whether the CUV in the US would require a similar campaign.
The notice was dated September 18, 2014, on the website for Transport Canada, similar to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US. It says, "the rear suspension toe link jam nuts" might not have been sufficiency tightened, which could allow a rear wheel to turn "inboard or outboard" while driving. If this happens, it could cause a sudden change in handling. Canadian Cadillac dealers are inspecting the parts and replacing the toe link if necessary.
This campaign isn't listed on the GM's running recall tally from September, which includes exported models, but it does list four other campaigns for the SRX this year - three in this range of years and one for the 2004-2006 model. Autoblog reached out to the company to ask about the possibility of this recall expanding to the US and were told "We have not publicly announced US recalls" for the issues affecting the SRX. The New York Times was given a similar quote. Scroll down to read the notice from Transport Canada.

Texas sues GM, saying it tricked customers into sharing driving data sold to insurers

Wed, Aug 14 2024

Texas filed a lawsuit Tuesday against GM over years of alleged abuse of customers' data and trust. New car owners were presented with a "confusing and highly misleading" process that was implied to be for their safety, but "was no more than a deceptively designed sales flow" that surrendered their data for GM to sell. The suit contends that at no point was selling driving data ever even suggested as a possibility, putting GM in violation of the state's consumer protection laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking a jury trial and at least $10,000 per offense (every GM car sold in the state since 2015) and a hefty add-on of $250,000 in cases where the victim was over 65. Texas seems to be flying high after a recent $1.4 billion settlement from Meta over other privacy concerns. This may well be a way to solve any pending budgetary issues in the Lone Star State.
