NorthStar V8 ENGINE, Moonroof, Heated Leather Seats, Top of the line Bose 5.1 Theater Sound System with 15 speakers (including Subwoofer), Navigation System, On-Star Communications System, Hands-free cellular phone capability, 17" Wheels, New set of Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tires (less than 3,000 miles), size 245/50R17, V-Rated, with new rear disc brakes. The Temporary Spare Tire has never been on the road or removed from its under-floor space in the fully-lined trunk. This was my mother-in-law's car. She bought it outright, nearly new, with a lien-free title. Over the next few years she kept it completely maintained by the local Cadillac dealer (who will vouch for its regular maintenance, supported by a thick bundle of receipts that will go with the car), garaged it all the time, and always babied it. Now that Mother no longer drives, this has become an extra car for us, so we are selling it to free up garage space for our cars. There are NO DOCUMENTARY FEES as found in other car ads. We have the clear, lien-free title (not a flood or salvage title). We are located in Abilene, Texas, 150 miles West of Fort Worth/150 miles East of Midland, Texas on Interstate 20. Abilene Regional Airport is served by an American Airlines subsidiary carrier with 8 flights in/out per day. If you want to fly in, we will pick you up at the airport at no charge. Our region seldom experiences ice or snow and is in a drought with very little rainfall, even by our standards. That has been the case since Mother bought it and there is obviously no rust or other weather-related issues of any type. 1SE equipment package is a thoroughly comprehensive equipment package offered by Cadillac. OTHER FEATURES INCLUDE: Power Leather Heated Driver & Passenger Seats along with Heated Rear Seats, Satellite Radio, 2 Keyless Entry Key Fobs with Remote Engine Start, door lock & unlock, and trunk unlock, Triple Zone A/C, Remote Trunk Release button, Child Safety Locks, Steering Wheel Controls, Driver Information Center with MPG indicator (excellent mileage), tire and engine monitors, etc., Memory Driver's Seat (which controls seat, side-view mirrors, Heating/Air Conditioning, and Bose system), Keyless Push Button Start, & Heated Outside Rear View Mirrors. OTHER OPTIONS & FEATURES Please remember this is a 2008 model and is not new. Although the car is a very clean, low mileage car, the car does have a small number of scratches, dings, or nicks. There certainly aren't very many. We would rather have the new owner more satisfied than expected! You are more than welcome to see the car in person, before completing the transaction. There will be a $500 Paypal deposit due within 24 hours that will be credited to the final price. The oil and filter were recently changed with Mobile 1 oil by the local Cadillac dealer (Lawrence Hall, Abilene), who also checked the car over just before its extended warranty expired in May, 2014. Highlights of Edmunds 2008 Cadillac STS Review What's New for 2008 The 2008 Cadillac STS has been significantly
updated with revised styling and a more luxuriously trimmed interior and a
six-speed automatic transmission. Introduction The 2008 Cadillac STS
slots in between the inexplicably top-selling DTS land yacht sedan and the
sporty midsize CTS. To keep pace with its
more attention-grabbing sibling (as well as other larger luxury sport sedans),
the 2008 Cadillac STS has been revised inside and out. The wide, two-level
egg-crate grille is particularly striking, and the improved cabin trim is bound
to get the attention of full-size luxury car shoppers. We've always liked the current STS, and the
revised 2008 edition makes it even more endearing. Meanwhile, the STS' ride and
handling continues to impress with moves that almost make you forget you're
driving a sedan that's 6 inches longer and 200 pounds heavier than an E350.
Having a price that undercuts the competition by thousands doesn't hurt either. Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options The 2008 Cadillac STS is
a large luxury sport sedan available in V6 and V8 models. Both versions feature
17-inch wheels, leather seating, wood and alloy-look interior trim, eight-way
power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote keyless entry
and vehicle start, satellite radio, an eight-speaker Bose sound system and
OnStar. The V8 version adds a CD changer, memory seating presets, heated seats
(front and rear), a heated steering wheel and rain-sensing wipers. Other features available on both models (in
packages or as a la carte items) include a sunroof, xenon headlamps, and heated
front and rear seats. The navigation system is bundled with a Bose
surround-sound audio system. (Seller's
note: This STS has all of the foregoing.) Powertrains and Performance The optional engine choice is a 4.6-liter V8
making 320 hp and 315 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come only with a six-speed
automatic transmission. Safety Antilock disc brakes, stability control and a
full complement of airbags are standard on every Cadillac STS. The airbags
include front-seat side and full-length side curtains. In Insurance Institute
for Highway Safety frontal-offset crash testing, the STS scored a rating of
"Good," the highest possible. It scored a second-best rating of
"Acceptable" for side-impact protection. Interior Design and Special Features Cadillac snazzed up the STS interior
significantly for 2008 with higher-quality wood and the addition of tasteful
alloy trim. A sporty new steering wheel looks and feels better, while more
wheel-mounted controls have been added. The good fit and finish remains and
luxury buyers should be pleased with this Cadillac's generally high-class
ambience. Controls are straightforward and easy to use, with the exception of
the confounding memory-setting procedure for the driver seat, mirrors, radio
and climate controls. Unlike traditional systems, which place buttons on the
door or driver seat, you must dive deep into the navigation touchscreen to set
memory functions. It's frustrating and unnecessarily complicated, but at least
it's something done only occasionally. Driving Impressions Although large in size,
the 2008 Cadillac STS sedan feels three-fourths its size when driven with
enthusiasm, yet it rides like a supple luxury car when you're gobbling up the
miles on the highway. Braking is strong as well, with progressive pedal action
and an impressively short 120-foot stopping distance from 60 mph. SELLER'S WARRANTY INFORMATION This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed, written, or implied. 2014 Cadillac CTS images leak from somewhere
Sun, 24 Mar 2013The redesigned 2014 Cadillac CTS will be unveiled this Tuesday on the eve of the New York Auto Show, but as often happens, some images of the car have leaked onto the web a few days early. Previously, the only information we had on the 2014 CTS concerned the all-new twin-turbo V6 engine that will be found underhood, rated at 420 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
While none show the new car in its entirety, the images do show much of the front end, particularly the headlights that feature vertical bars of LEDs that start down low as foglights and continue up to the top of the front fenders. They're similar to the lighting design first shown on the XTS and ATS, except the lower portions are much taller.
There are also views of the rear end and one of the taillights, as well as an interior shot of the front passenger door. The latter image has us most intrigued, as it shows some very high end materials being used in the new CTS interior. The low-gloss wood trim, in particular, looks very premium.
2016 Cadillac CT6 has arrived
Wed, Apr 1 2015We have known for a while that the 2015 New York Auto Show would mark the debut of Cadillac's latest flagship model. But after months of waiting as Caddy slowly revealed details, the 2016 Cadillac CT6 has finally arrived. The sedan is a technological tour de force for the brand and inaugurates a long list of new technologies. The CT6 will begin production at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant in late 2015 and will go on sale with three engine options. Caddy won't release final figures yet, but based on preliminary numbers, we know the base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will make 265 horsepower. Stepping up to the newly revised 3.6-liter V6 will net buyers an estimated 335 hp, and finally there will be the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with an output of around 400 hp. All of these engines will be mated to eight-speed automatic transmissions, and six-cylinder models will get standard all-wheel drive that will be able to constantly vary the power sent to the front wheels. Carrying those powertrains is the new, aluminum-intensive Omega architecture. In addition to the lightweight metal making up the platform, the entire exterior also uses it to provide an estimated curb weight of less than 3,700 pounds. The decision to shed mass makes the CT6 a featherweight in its class – for comparison, the lightest, six-cylinder Audi A8 weighs 4,365 pounds. The sedan rides on a 122.4-inch wheelbase and is 204 inches long. That makes the Cadillac about 1.3 inches shorter than the smallest BMW 7 Series, but the Caddy is projected to tip the scales at less than both the big Bimmer and even the 5 Series, too. Cadillac wants the CT6 to be a luxury sedan that drivers can enjoy. In addition to the low weight, there's an available Active Chassis System throughout the range with rear-wheel steering and Magnetic Ride Control. When combined with the all-wheel-drive system, it means every corner of the car is both driving and steering the vehicle. Inside, the CT6 offers a ton of tech and luxury. Drivers are held in massaging, leather seats, and rear passengers also get adjustable chairs that are heated and cooled. Quad-zone climate controls keep everyone comfortable. Plus, in addition to the 34-speaker Bose audio system and streaming rearview mirror, there are features like a 10.2-inch CUE infotainment system with a capacitive touchscreen and console-mounted touchpad. The display also shows a 360-degree view outside and can even record video when the security system is activated.
Cadillac's Butler announces surprise departure
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Cadillac's vice president of global strategic development, Don Butler, has resigned. Butler has held the position since April, after a term as vice president of US marketing for General Motor's luxury brand.
As the report explains, the timing here is pretty unfortunate for Cadillac. Butler is the third high-profile member of Cadillac's brass to depart in recent months, following the firing of US sales boss Chase Hawkins and the pending departure of Susan Docherty. Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell told the Detroit paper, "Bob [Ferguson]," global boss for Cadillac, "and other leaders asked him to stay on. Don's here in the office today - and told our team that his decision is purely on a personal level. After three years of putting everything into Cadillac, he is stepping away for some personal time, and to consider new avenues in his life."
Butler says his decision is part of a decision to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities." Whatever the reason, it's an unpleasant surprise for Cadillac, which has been on a surge in 2013, with 30-percent jump in sales on the heels of the hot-selling ATS.
