2011 Cadillac Srx Luxury Sport Utility 4-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Dallas, Texas, United States
Up for sale is a 2011 Cadillac SRX. The vehicle is in excellent condition and has a set of Hanhook tires with less than 10k miles on them. It is black on black, has a large panoramic sunroof, aftermarket (installed by dealer) DVD players in both headrests for back passengers, tinted windows and above all, AN EXTENDED WARRANTY that extends to 80,243 miles or February 26, 2016. Roughly another year and a half of full coverage. Additonal things: The vehicle has keyless entry, keyless start, bluetooth, a backup camera, and heated seats.
Why the sale? Well, if you look at my buying history you will see that a couple of weeks ago, my wife purchased a 2008 Porsche Cayenne. She wanted a little more pizzaz but wanted to make sure she liked the Cayenne before committing to a brand new one. DISCLOSURE: The vehicle was involved in an accident that resulted in the driver side quarter panel being replaced. It was not a direct hit, it was a "side swipe" caused by her pulling into the blind spot of an 18 wheeler. The incident did not do any structural damage to the vehicle at all and all repairs were done by a certified Cadillac dealer. Being a car buff myself, I went over the work with a fine tooth comb and was thoroughly satisfied with the work done. In the pictures above, I show my watch being reflected in the paint to show you the quality of the paintwork and consistency throughout the vehicle. You can't tell anything was done. The complete quarter panel was replaced and there in no body filler/bondo etc in the panel itself. I've discounted the price to take into account this incident.
Also, there are two small scratches on teh driver door where someone/something hit the door. I've shown that in the picture. |

Cadillac V-Series Academy comes to Las Vegas [w/video]
Thu, 31 Jan 2013General Motors has added another high-speed education course to the curriculum at the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. The desert track already hosts the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School with Chevrolet Corvettes, including the ZR1, and they've just added the Cadillac V-Series Academy.
Open now, the one- and two-day performance driving school teaches "the finer points of high performance driving" using the 556-horspower instructional aids known as the CTS-V sedan, coupe and wagon. This is different than than using the CTS-V at the Monticello Motor Club on the east coast - that's part of a sponsorship deal that Cadillac has with the track. The driving course at the Motorsports Ranch is its own program that was developed by Fellows, and we have no reason to think the Cadillac edition won't be just as thorough and enjoyable as the one with Corvettes.
Unlike the 'Vette edition, however, it doesn't appear that you get an invitation to the program if you buy a CTS-V model. Classes are capped at 12 participants and run $1,295 for a single day, $2,295 for two days. There are a video and a press release below with more info.
Almost half of US Cadillac dealers say no to ELR plug-in hybrid
Wed, Feb 19 2014If you've got $75,995 (or so) burning a hole in your pocket and a hankering for the new Cadillac ELR, you'd better call your local dealer before you burn up shoe leather and gasoline to head down there. According to a report on Edmunds, only about 56 percent of the brand's 940 dealers have signed up to carry the premium plug-in hybrid. As much as we'd like to see the more affluent among us driving on electricity, we can certainly understand the dealers' apparent lack of enthusiasm. The article cites costs of up to $15,000 for tools and training to sell the ELR. Show floor real estate is another consideration for dealers who aren't enthusiastic about sacrificing space for a for a vehicle with initial sales – just 46 units nationwide in the first two months, but that volume is expected to increase – that are as mediocre as our first drive impressions. Still, for those locations that co-habitate with Chevrolet dealers who already participate in the Volt program, the extra expenditure shouldn't be too onerous. The two vehicles share the same basic electro-mechanical drivetrain, so those dealerships should have most of the needed infrastructure already in place. The bulk of ELR sales, according to Cadillac's global marketing director Jim Vurpillat, are expected to be in along the coasts, in places like California, Miami and New York. GM winding down Chevrolet brand in Europe
Thu, 05 Dec 2013If you've taken even a cursory look at GM's European strategy and wondered how it can target the market there with both Chevrolet and Opel/Vauxhall, you're not alone. In fact General Motors itself has found it difficult to justify the two-pronged approach. That's why it's essentially pulling Chevy from the European marketplace.
Instead of trying to ply European buyers with what are mostly former Daewoo products rebadged as Chevys, GM will now let Opel (or Vauxhall in the UK) represent its mass-market aspirations. Chevrolet will keep its presence in Russia and other former Soviet markets, and will continue selling certain niche products in Eastern and Western Europe. The Corvette, for example, has long been sold in Europe through Cadillac dealerships, which for its part is currently "finalizing plans for expanding in the European market".
While the shift in strategy is expected to help GM get a stronger foothold in the European market in the long run, in the short term the restructuring will cost it dearly: between $700 million and $1 billion, according to its own estimates, split between the last quarter of this year and the first half of the next.
