This beautiful classic has so much to offer! The Cadillac was purchased in 2005 by the father, and later in 2007 passed down to his sons. It held a special bond between the father and his sons. They enjoyed working on the Cadillac together. When the father passed the boys decided it was not the same without their father. Nor do they have as much time these days to enjoy this beautiful car. The sons a list of believed past owners compiled by their father (Along with a 1984 title copy) According to thier fathers extensive log their is a comprehensive list of work done after his purchase. Previous to purchase, a repaint in 1999, base coat and clear coat. Top was painted in 2007 to give a two tone effect. Car recently received new valve job, new valves and springs, flush block, coolant system, and three cores. Car also has new wheel cylinders, axle seals, all new lines, and shoes with over 80 percent left. A rebuild wiper motor, fuel pump, carburetor, distributor, vacuum advance, five new tires and tubs! The sons have only put 198 miles on it since 2007. Paint- Prevoius to purshase acomplete repaint in 1999, later the roof was painted to give it the two tone effect. Colors are actual1947 Cadillac available combination. The repaint was very professionally done and is extremely smooth and shiny in all areas. (see pictures. Most of the pictures where taken in the shade. When inspecting car in the bright light, it matches well all the way around. It has been rubbed to a glass like finish, and has been inspected by Chad in very bright florescent lighting to bring out any flaws. There are a dozen or so pinhead sized imperfections being extremely critical, on right side of hood and a few on top painted area. They can only be seen in the exact perfect angle under florescent light. There are a few small brush touched areas, located above the rear bumper, below the trunk, spot on left rear quarter, and a few on the nose.(see pictures) Body- The car is as straight as you could possibly expect it to be, much like when it brand new. It is in beautiful condition! Maybe a light almost unnoticeable dimple on the right rear door that can hardly been seen or photographed. Also one small flaw on the edge of the hood, just about a foot behind the antenna. (see photos) The fits of the hood, trunk, and doors are very uniform all the way around. All four doors open and close very well, with just the right amount of snap when you close them. They are beautifully set in position and open very nicely. Magnet- When randomly going over the body and performing random readings, I did not find any area that showed to not be steel. Including all fenders, doors, hood, and trunk. Indicating no signs of non metallic areas. Bright Work- This car has an extremely large amount of bright work! Which is one of the reasons this car looks so fabulous, and why this era is so popular. All bright work seems to be in place like it should be, and all appears to be secured properly. The family had explained that the filler tabs(in the back of the front doors) that fills over the screws, and the bright work in the license plates lights are ofter missing or painted. Which in this case is an example of why car very complete! The bright work that is surrounding or near all the windows looks like a car of only a year or two old. The bright work is free from small dents that you would usually see. Being extremely critical there is one small pin head size dent above the drivers windshield, and a slight amount of pitting on the windshield wiper bases. The outside mirrors on either side show no wear. The door handles only show a slight amount of pitting, and wear on the rear handles upon close inspection. The chrome running under the Cadillac emblems on the side, the lower third of car, as well as the bumpers front and rear, and grill shine beautifully. Other than a little slight wear on the bumpers is it almost flawless and very striking. Inside of bumpers have been coated, which gives it a very nice looking finish (From the bottom side, or looking out from an angle) Glass- Side glass looks great (side glass with the exceptions of the drivers side crank window being of a different manufacturer) The rear glass, and the front two windshield pieces are all marked as “high test safety LOF plate”. Glass seems nice and clear with out any apparent discoloring. The front windshield does have some light pin head size nicks from driving, as well as some light wiper scuffs on the driver window. The four cranking windows do have some light delimitation. Starting just at the top 1/4to 1/2inch area, and the back edge of the rear cranking windows. When these windows are up it is hardly noticeable. All four cranking door windows have about the same amount of delimitation as the photos show up close.
Interior- The owners had indicated that it is believed the headliner, sun visors, and all seat materials, and door trims are original. To the best of their knowledge. The carpet is questionable, and they have no knowledge of its age. Review the pictures closely you will see that headliner is intact and all seems proper, and in great condition. The seats have very minimal amount of age, and wear, as do the door panels, and back of front seats. Sun visors all have good backing, and looking closely at pictures of bright work, and instrumentation as well as the chrome on the surrounding window areas. .It has very little wear and shows extremely well. Also notice that the steering wheel is in great condition. The simulated wood was reconditioned some years ago. Trunk- The trunk appearance with the spare tire cover, bottom side of trunk, and attention to detail is very striking. Upon looking at the pictures you will see the that tire and wheel match, and are painted and stripped just as the other four on the car. It is very detailed and includes tire changing tools. Upon lifting and disassembling the interior of the trunk, you will see a very natural solid flooring and original materials underneath the tire. Also note the cap and bolt that are part of the spare tire mounting. Tires and wheels- Looking closely between the tread, you will notice there is no cracking. The condition and presentation of these tires, and wheels is just beautiful. You will find that the wheels are painted, and striped impeccably. Trim ring and cap looking very crisp and fresh, any damage noticed from curb or other. Same is true of all the tires, you will not see any damage. BF Goodrich Silver town Tube Type 4 Ply Left Front- 7.00-15 Tread 12/32 Right Front- 7.00-15 Tread 12/32 Left Rear- 7.00-15 Tread 12/32 Left Rear- 7.00-15 Tread 12/32 Engine and Transmission- Please look closely at all the detailed pictures, and you will see everything from the labels, to the vin number on the block, that matches frame and title. You will see the re-done porcelain manifolds, wiring, nuts, bolts, and the attention to detail in the engine compartment. It is very professionally done. Nothing looks to be modified or altered from the cars original state.
Chassis and Frame- Upon inspecting the frame, and the floor, it is nice to see that it has been left very natural. Not able to see any apparent areas of repair, near the frame or the floor. Nor did I see any rust perforation. I liked how the car has been lift un coated, just as they had received it. You can really get a feel for how nice, and original the car is. I did not see anything more than the normal amount of light oil seepage, that components will have. Transmission will drip from time to time, and if left sitting may develop a small puddle. You will notice in the back, the auxiliary electric fuel pump. Mechanical- Chad rode in the car with owner, than drove himself several miles back. The Cadillac starts, runs, accelerates, decelerates, and is operating as it should. The up shifting, and down shifting, all seems to be working properly. Car is steering and braking properly, and I did not notice any pulsating or pulling to the left or right. After driving and letting car idle the oil gauge is reading 30/32 pounds, and temp has moved just a touch off cold. Checking with an infrared thermometer car seems to be running as it should. Gas gauge is working correctly and battery charging gauge moves up when car is given a little gas. Want to note there is a small toggle switch underneath the heater controls that’s is an auxiliary electronic fuel pump. Which are common to be added to cars of this era. This helps start car after sitting for storage, or after car is being restarted warm (vapor lock)

Cadillac confirms new flagship to be built in Detroit next year
Fri, 19 Sep 2014
"The objective for this upcoming model is to lift the Cadillac range by entering the elite class of top-level luxury cars." - Johan de Nysschen
Cadillac confirmed Friday morning it will build its new flagship sedan, expected to be called the LTS, starting in late in 2015 in Detroit.
Cadillac's Euro reboot may have implications for US models, sales
Fri, 11 Apr 2014Firmly on the comeback trail in the US, Cadillac is still trying to get out of the starting blocks in Europe. At the Geneva Motor Show in March, Cadillac' senior execs revealed plans to grow the brand's presence in a luxury market dominated by the big three German marques, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
GM President Dan Ammann says he sees "enormous" potential for Cadillac globally.
Over the past 20 years, the General Motors premium nameplate has tried and failed multiple times to break into the European market. This time around, Cadillac recognizes that progress will be modest at best, and depends on specific changes to models, some of which may impact the brand's US lineup. Planned new sales tactics in Europe may also impact the way Cadillac does business on this side of the pond.
Cadillac's de Nysschen takes aim at Porsche 911, Cayenne
Mon, Nov 24 2014Johan de Nysschen has big plans for Cadillac. He's moved the brand from Detroit to New York, revamped its model nomenclature, and planning a raft of new models for the near future – including a $250,000 luxury sedan to take on the likes of Rolls-Royce and Bentley. But the veteran executive of luxury automakers has some more performance-oriented machinery in mind, too. Speaking with Car and Driver at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week, de Nysschen suggested Cadillac could be ready to launch a flagship sports car sometime in the next decade. The halo model would take aim at the Porsche 911 and do for Cadillac what Audi did with the R8, Mercedes is doing with the AMG GT and Acura once did (and is aiming to do again) with the NSX. Just what form it would take remains a big unknown, but de Nysschen indicated that the brand would need to be built up further before the sports car would be launched, lest it emerge too detached from Cadillac's image. The last time Cadillac delved into that territory was with the Corvette-based XLR, of which it sold only 15,000 or so examples – far below initial targets. The 911 rival isn't the only performance model de Nysschen has in mind, however. He plans to further expand the V series into a more substantial sub-brand to include a crossover to take on the likes of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, BMW X5 M and all those many AMG-tuned Mercedes utilities. The idea of an entry-level model to slot in below the ATS was mooted as well. A range of diesel engines are slated to help Cadillac break into overseas markets in similar fashion to how Maserati has expanded its market reach with oil-burning versions of the Ghibli and Quattroporte. And we wouldn't be surprised to see Cadillac get in on a new flagship SUV being launched by Opel in Europe, either.
