Classic 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special - Make Offer!! on 2040-cars

Year:1962 Mileage:49000
Location:

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

After a 10+ year restoration, it's time to part with a beloved member of the family in order to make room for our long-time goal of getting a getting a convertible and we only have a one-car garage.

Up for sale is a long, sleek 1962 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60 Sedan. In the "Mad Men" era of 1962, if you were 'somebody', you had one of these. This was the TOP OF THE LINE of all American Cars made this year. Short of the series 75 Limousine, this was the most luxurious production Cadillac made in 1962. When Frank Sinatra went to a concert or movie premier, this was the car that took him.

It came standard with Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Autronic Eye, Power seat, Power Steering, Power Trunk Release, Power Drum Brakes...options that aren't all standard in this decade, not to mention on a 52 year old car.

Yes, they all STILL work.

The GREAT/GOOD:

- All original with matching numbers
- Powered by the Original Cadillac 390 v-8 Engine that purrs like a kitten
- Steers and brakes perfectly
- Custom-installed sound system with new speakers behind retro, color-keyed grills, remote, aux input, CD, and radio with power antenna.
- Rides smooth as silk
- Won three trophies at Philadelphia-area car shows
- Always garage-kept
- Comes with an extra set of fender skirts, parts, and a shop manual
- Under 50K original miles
- Currently appraised with Hagerty insurance for $22,500 ($7,000 more than my asking price)

WHAT IT NEEDS:

- Small (less than 2") ding on the rear right fender
- Sun cracked dash (thin cracks)
- Need to tighten the rear, left door handle (I made a repair on the panel)

Come see this 18 1/2 foot gem, as it gets hundreds of looks every time I take it out for a leisurely cruise.

Feel free to inspect before bidding.  All reasonable offers considered.  A received offer is a legal obligation for purchase, and all deposits must be received at the close of auction.  No refunds or warranties (I am a private seller who is open and willing for anyone to come see or drive this beautiful car before buying), so please be serious about bringing this classic car into your home.  I reserve the right to end the auction early if I get a cash offer on the local ads.

The vehicle MUST be picked up no later than 24 hours after a successful win.  I'm going on vacation.  Thank you!

Cadillac considering ultra-luxe, $100k+ Escalade

Tue, Sep 22 2015

The Cadillac Escalade has pushed incrementally up-market over the years. From its humble Chevy/GMC truck underpinnings, the latest Escalade starts at $72,970 and tops out at $96,940. But according to the latest reports, Cadillac is weighing an even more upscale version. Though the exact nature of the upgrades that would push the Escalade further up-market remain unknown – and perhaps undecided at this point – the impetus for such a move is crystal clear. European luxury SUVs keep getting more and more expensive, both from established players and new challengers. Bentley just launched the Bentayga, and other luxury marques like Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Maserati, and Lamborghini are all getting into the game. All the while manufacturers like Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz keep rolling out ever more expensive offerings, like the Range Rover Autobiography and anticipating forthcoming Maybach sport-ute. To challenge those European imports with their astronomic price tags, Cadillac could go with an even higher trim level than its existing Platinum spec – or it could go with a more powerful, performance-oriented Escalade V or Vsport. Getting that big a vehicle to hustle would require a lot of power, but then General Motors has never been one to shy away from slotting a bigger engine into its vehicles. One thing's for certain though, and that's that Cadillac isn't quite done with pushing the Escalade higher up the market.

2013 Cadillac ATS Premium 2.0T 6MT

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

The new Cadillac ATS is an impressive sport sedan, often considered one of the most serious threats to the BMW 3 Series. Unlike GM's previous attempts, this four door brings aggressive styling, commendable chassis dynamics and class-leading handling to the highly competitive battle. And, like its daunting German foe, Cadillac offer several powertrain choices.
I recently spent time with the ATS 2.0T Premium on my home California turf. Fitted with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with a limited-slip rear differential, my tester was lightly optioned, with only a paint upgrade and a cold weather package. That brought the as-tested price to $46,305, configured the way I imagine most enthusiasts would prefer. This meant I fully expected to enjoy a week with a tossable sport sedan that boasted "fun-to-drive" as its middle name, but all was not well...
