Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Runs & Looks Great! on 2040-cars

101,000 miles on this exceptionally nice clean quality car! The last true
Cadillac. One of the greatest highway cruisers ever built. The car rides like a
dream. People always comment on how smooth and quiet it is compared to new
cars, even new Cadillacs. The large amount of leather, cloth, carpeting, and
metal (yes metal) used to build the cabin of the car makes it extremely well
insulated from road noise. The
self-leveling rear suspension is great for the car's appeal. There is nothing
more unappealing than seeing a car loaded down and dragging its ass along the
road; you don't have that problem with this car. The double bench interior is also fantastic. No need for buckets and wasted space in a car meant for highways. Plus they make two beds or one large one if you manipulate the front just right. Absolutely comfortable. One can easily drive all day in these seats or be a passenger all day. That is one thing that car companies suck at today, a comfortable back seat. Performance
wise, this car moves for its size. Plenty or torque to handle 5 passengers and
a loaded trunk. You will never find yourself begging the car to make it up a
mountain road without ease. Gas mileage is also fantastic. Take the car on the
highway at 75 with the AC on and 25mpg is no problem. For best gas mileage, I
drive with windows down around town and AC only on the highway. My one gripe
about the car is the automatic climate control. I just wish I had more manual
control over the fan speed and zoning of the climate (ie feet only). But
besides that, the system itself is overkill, but in a good way. Ergonomically,
everything is comfortably placed. The car is a blast to drive and easy at that.
The huge wheelbase is what makes the car. Slight jerks in the steering will not
affect the tracking of the car like they would in a smaller wheel-based one.
The car tracks straight as an arrow on the open road. Additionally, all the
cigarette lighters and vanity mirrors make it a great car for smoking 'cigars'.
And to top it off, the car has one hell of a stock sound system, especially for
1995. The one thing
that you will need to maintain constantly is the dash pad. Its just huge and if
you do not keep it moisturized, it will crack. All in all then,
this car does everything well that it was designed to do, plain and simple.
Compare it to other cars of its size and purpose and you will find that this
car stands on top, and you will feel that way when you drive it. If GM wants its rep back, they need to start building cars like these again and ignore profits. Build quality once again, because that is exactly what this piece of mechanical engineering is and forever will be. Please feel free to contact me at 814-860-9102 with any questions. |

Facelifted Cadillac ATS spied completely uncovered
Thu, 27 Feb 2014The Cadillac ATS makes for a pretty svelte little coupe, and General Motors appears to know it, because multiple, completely undisguised prototype sedans have been spotted testing wearing what look like many of the forthcoming coupe's body parts.
Not only does it wear at least the outline of the brand's new, broader crest, it has the same front air dam with continuous chrome strip found on the coupe. The only real difference is that it has the somewhat taller side view mirrors from the sedan, rather than the narrower, longer ones from the coupe. Around back, the changes are harder to spot because the test car is outfitted with an unpainted lower bumper. However, it seems to lack the chrome strip that offsets the lower portion of the coupe from the sedan.
The ATS sedan is already a looker, but it is good to see Cadillac is taking a second pass using what it learned on the coupe. There's no word yet on when this revised sedan is going to hit the streets - let alone what changes will take place beneath the skin - but we're thinking it looks about right for 2015.
Cadillac confident attitude will attract the elite to ELR plug-in hybrid [w/video]
Mon, Feb 10 2014Cadillac is not going to pull any punches when it comes to promoting its plug-in hybrid ELR. In the real world, the company is showing off the Wreath And Crest's coupe with Chevy Volt technology at exclusive events with "groups whose members are affluent, green-minded and have an appreciation for design and innovation," says Automotive News. That evidently means young Hollywood celebrities and other well-to-do demographics. As Cadillac global chief Bob Ferguson recently told the industry publication, "If you live on the West Coast and you're an architect and you've given to environmental causes, you're probably going to hear about the ELR. We have sliced and diced who is likely to buy this vehicle." "We have sliced and diced who is likely to buy this vehicle" - Cadillac's Bob Ferguson In the realm of advertising, Cadillac evidently thinks a fast-talking, USA-USA-USA! Type-A personality is just the kind of guy who will convince those celebrities and architects to buy one. For proof, look no further than the star of this new ELR ad called Poolside that Cadillac is airing during the Olympics. There are almost no details about the ELR in this ad, just a whole lot of attitude mixed with humor (the "We got bored" line is funny). In fact, there's almost no indication that the ELR is an extended-range hybrid at all. Short of a brief moment where our hero, actor Neil McDonough, unplugs his car from its charging station, you'd probably never know it's got an EV mode at all. That's undoubtedly a calculated bet by Cadillac, whose ad execs have undoubtedly noted that most electric cars are not selling well with an eco-first message, so they appear to be going with style and swagger instead. Scroll below to see what we mean. The ELR has a starting MSRP of $75,000, and at that price, it's already out of reach for most Americans. Automotive News suggests that annual ELR production is likely to be just shy of 5,000 units, so Cadillac could be on stable ground trying to appeal to such a limited number of buyers. What type of buyers? Well, that remains to be seen. This dream home theater and office happens to be in a Cadillac Escalade [w/video]
Fri, Dec 19 2014Need to take a ride cross country in the lap of luxury while still getting some work done? Short of a tour bus, the Concept One Curve from Lexani Motorcars might be one of the most comfy options imaginable. Lexani is usually known for creating opulent armored vehicles, but for the Concept One Curve it focuses on converting a 2015 Cadillac Escalade into a place for work or play. The company strips out the standard passenger compartment to install a higher ceiling with LED lighting, two leather-upholstered power captain's chairs and jump seats. However, the real highlight is a 48-inch curved 4K television mounted against the driver's partition. Don't worry about missing your favorite shows because there's a TracVision Satellite, too. The driver gets a re-covered seat of their own up front. If business needs to get done, the vehicle also includes a Mac Mini computer, tables stowed in the seats and connections for video conferencing. Of course, if you're riding in something this lavish, security might be a concern too. In addition to the window shades, the Concept One Curve features cameras to know what's going on outside. A touchscreen management system lets occupants control the whole setup from the luxurious chairs. Lexani claims that if all of this somehow isn't enough for a buyer, it offers even more options to fit their needs. Scroll down to watch a video tour and read more about this rolling home theater. {C} Lexani Concept One Curve Lexani Motorcars, a boutique luxury conversion company receiving vast international praise, has produced the Concept One Curve - the world's first 2015 Escalade with a built-in 48" 4K Technology Curved Smart TV. Lexani Motorcars is constantly pushing the boundaries of possibility for luxury transportation in everyday vehicles. The Curve is a revisited version of their latest model, the Concept One, with a television upgrade and electronic rear curtains; it is unmatched in its ability to be a premier theater one minute and a five-star mobile office the next. The curved smart TV-which rests on a proprietary electronic partition-is indeed impressive, but it is just one of the numerous amenities this discreet masterpiece boasts.
