Up for sale is a very special Fleetwood. This 1990 Cadillac Fleetwood Sedan spent almost it's whole life in the Silicon Valley area of California. It was the pride and joy of it's long time original owners. It was sold new at St.Claire Cadillac in San Jose, Ca. and was garaged all of it's life. The mileage of 59, 941 is true and accurate. This car is absolutely loaded with almost every conceivable option it was possible to get in 1990. Antilock brakes and drivers airbag were new additions in 1990 and this car has it. Additionally, the car has the following options: driver and passenger power recliners, memory seats, Delco Bose Gold Series stereo, factory installed garage door transmitter/opener, Cadillac factory vehicle anti theft system, Gold package with all emblems and lettering in Gold AND in what appears to be dealer added, the very rare cabriolet roof option, perfect chrome Cadillac wheels and an E and G simulated Rolls Royce grill with gold vanes. Even the gold Caddy hood emblem will blow the horn if improperly disturbed. The faux convertible top has gold trim button downs! This is car is nothing short of stunning! It really is. The pictures are not truly capturing how magnificent it is to behold this car in person. The white top looks about 6 months old, not 24! years. The Cotillion white paint job is almost unblemished. The antelope leather interior is also close to perfect. All options and accessories work. The only flaws I could detect are the following: a very small tear in the vinyl drivers side arm rest where the control panel is, the delco bose stereo works but for some reason I can only get the sound to play from one front speaker. However, the tape deck still works! Amazing! Lastly, there is a small scratch on the top of the drivers side light housing on the drivers side. Ant truly, that is it. Everything else looks and feels pretty close to perfect. The trunk has a special plastic liner that fits perfectly to protect the trunk carpet. I could go on and on about this particular beauty, but perhaps it's best if you have any questions, to please forward them to me. Disclaimer: Car sold as is, where is. Car described to the best of my ability and with full disclosure. Any interested parties wishing a detailed report may have the car inspected (at their expense) to their satisfaction. Please ask any and all questions prior to submitting offer. This will be a final sale.

GM, UAW poaching Nissan workers in Tennessee
Tue, Sep 8 2015General Motors and the United Auto Workers are going on a recruitment drive at the Spring Hill factory in Tennessee, and they're hoping to poach some skilled workers from Nissan's nearby plant in Smyrna, TN. The General and the union even bought a billboard advertising for industrial electricians near the Japanese automaker's facility, according to the Daily News Journal. The reason for the billboard was simple. "GM was short of electricians," said Tim Stannard, the president of the UAW local at Spring Hill, to the Daily News Journal. The factory currently builds the Chevrolet Equinox but has a contract to assemble the next generation of Ecotec engines and the Cadillac XT5, which replaces the SRX. Thanks to the $185-million deal, employment there is expected to double by May 2016, according to Stannard, with roughly 1,800 additional union jobs. Beyond just several billboards, GM has job postings online for the Spring Hill plant looking for workers with specific skills. There has already been some interest in the positions among Nissan employees, Stannard indicated. According to a recent study by the Center for Automotive Research, the average GM worker currently makes $58 an hour, including benefits. Comparatively, Nissan pays an average of $42 an hour with benefits. The General's number could change in the coming weeks because its contract with the UAW is about to expire, and higher wages are among the major negotiating points.
Cadillac won't replace XTS after 2019
Mon, Apr 6 2015Cadillac wouldn't be Cadillac without a large sedan, but the definition of just which model fits that bill changed last week. Before the New York Auto Show, that role fell to the XTS. After the New York Auto Show, though, the focus shifted to the CT6. So what's to become of the XTS now that the CT6 has emerged? According to the latest intel, it'll live out the rest of its lifecycle until around 2019, but then drive off to its own funeral like so many limousines and hearses that were built off its platform. This was learned based on comments made by Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen at the closed-door unveiling of the CT6 in Manhattan: "Ultimately, a car like XTS when it reaches the end of its lifecycle, will not be replaced." That'll be bad news for the livery business that – in the post-Town Car era – has come to rely on the XTS as the basis for its stretch jobs. "We will not have a car that will lend itself to these kind of modifications and we will probably withdraw from those markets," de Nysschen told GM Inside News. That's not all the new Cadillac boss had to say, though: he also indicated that the replacements for the ATS and CTS will be positioned differently from the current models: "As we move into the future refining our sedan portfolio, there will be no direct successor to the CTS. There will be no direct successor to the ATS. There is no point to renaming those cars because in the future those cars will disappear." Based on Johan's comments and those we've heard until now, we'd expect the replacement for the ATS to move down a size to take on the likes of the Audi A3 and Mercedes CLA, and the CTS' successor to move down half a size class as well to give the new CT6 a bit more breathing room, and possibly an even larger flagship sedan to be positioned above them all. 2015 Cadillac Escalade
Fri, 29 Aug 2014I have never liked traveling to Monterey, CA. The picturesque coastal city is about 300 miles from my home in Los Angeles, which means cramped and uncomfortable regional aircraft are part of the equation when the turnaround is only one night. Over the years, I have cursed the LA Basin's bumper-to-bumper traffic en route to the airport, argued with TSA personnel over carry-on baggage and waited countless hours for the fog to lift just for the anguish of being packed into a small regional jet for the flight. Of course, the process repeats on the trip home with equal misery.
Yet this time I am not suffering.
Cadillac has dropped its all-new 2015 Escalade in my driveway. Instead of battling city congestion, attempting to reason with misinformed government agents, snacking on a too-small bag of pretzels and physically rubbing shoulders with a dubious stranger for 90-plus minutes within the confines of a bumpy aircraft, I have chosen to forgo air travel and drive myself door-to-door in a fullsize luxury sport utility vehicle.
