1982 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham D'elegance Sedan 4-door 4.1l on 2040-cars
Staunton, Virginia, United States
I am selling this beautiful Cadillac with LOW LOW original miles. You would have a hard time finding this model with less miles. NOTHING ON THE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN OVER 6000 MILES. See picture for odometer.
A very wealthy friend kept this car garaged since he bought it new. This car is so new I took a close up picture of the plastic film the factory puts on the stripping on the side of the car just for delivery. The interior is showroom quality. New tires. Car starts with the turn of the key. All electrics work like new. Seats, sunroof, mirrors etc. The only drawbacks are: A little loose on the stripping around the interior of sunroof. You will see in my pictures the two cracks in the material above the dash----dry air over years and temperature changes After all these years the rubber piece behind the tail light has simply deteriorated (this is common for this model--it is not wear and tear --it is just that the material dissolves after so many years sometimes--this piece is easy to replace I have a parts place that can provide one . I provided pictures of the one that is still good and a pic of the one to be replaced (last two pics listed) -- minor stuff There is a part I am ordering to control heat and AC as well --see picture -- after all these years it simply needs replacing -- very minor -- easy to handle So, buy this classic and drive it awat--it purrs-- NO ONE WILL BELIEVE YOU HAVE SUCH A LOW MILES NEW LOOKING '82Cadillac Brougham D'elegance This is the Quintessential CADILLAC -- it is the swankiest most comfortable classic-looking Cadillac ever!!!!! I have no reserve price You buy, you pick up in Virginia turn key and drive away Other 82 Cadillacs will have been used much more and have higher mileage. The value of this classic is unbelievable. Hollywood needs this car for such new looking accuracy!!!! Looking on classic cars website I saw some very high values for this model but THOSE CARS HAD MANY MORE MILES THAN THIS ONE---THIS IS A GEM!!!!!!!! You will see same model for sale with many more miles for $11,000 on OLX website If you go to youtube and type in Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham you will see the same model and color but their car has higher mileage No dents, no nicks no tears or rips feel free to ask any questions this car is a treasure -- who wants it?? President Trump might get to start his administration in a new Cadillac limo [UPDATE]
Fri, Jan 13 2017(UPDATE: Jalopnik is reporting an unidentified source claimed the new limo would not be featured in today's inauguration ceremony. The source did say however that the limo would join the presidential fleet later this year.) A rumor is going around that President-Elect Donald Trump will have a brand new set of wheels the day he takes office. The Cadillac Presidential Limousine, nicknamed "The Beast," was last refreshed in 2009 and led President Barack Obama's second inauguration-day parade. Cadillac could not confirm any timeline for the new presidential limo, nor could it confirm any specifics about the car nicknamed Beast 2.0. That's as expected, because details on the presidential limo are closely guarded and considered matters of national security. The outgoing original "Beast" limo marked a switch to a custom-built vehicle based on a General Motors truck frame. Previous limos were based on the actual cars they looked like. As we've seen in spy shots, The Beast 2.0 limo looks more like an Escalade SUV or CT6 sedan but is reported to be roughly the same size and shape as the old Beast, which is built on a Chevrolet Kodiak/GMC TopKick medium-duty truck chassis. AutoWeek is reporting that the new limo is set to debut for Trump's inauguration, however those reports could not be confirmed for the reasons mentioned above. The new Presidential car is expected to accommodate seven passengers in conference-style seating in the back like the current version. The Beast isn't meant for road trips, as it is mostly used to ferry the President to and from Air Force One when traveling, or on short trips around Washington D.C. That's good, considering the current limo only gets 3.7 miles per gallon. Along with multiple screens for video conferencing, The next Beast will also definitely include advanced armoring and weaponry. For security reasons, it's impossible to know the extent of those systems, but any vehicle transporting the most powerful man in the world around has to be tough. The entire process of designing and building the Presidential limo is top secret, as the Secret Service figures the less everyone knows about the Presidential Limo, the better. The new Beast, we can safely assume, is likely the safest vehicle in the world. The Secret Service began taking bids on building a replacement in 2014 because integrating all of the required armor is technically challenging.
Junkyard Gem: 1973 Cadillac Eldorado
Mon, Jun 13 2016The 1971-1978 Cadillac Eldorado was a gloriously ridiculous personal luxury coupe, packing a monstrous 500-cubic-inch V8 (that's 8.2 liters for you freedom-hating metric types) under its acre-sized hood for the first five years of production. Fuel economy was comfortably into single-digit territory, which meant you had to be a real high roller to be able to feed a new Eldo after OPEC turned off the oil spigot. I found this '73 in a Denver wrecking yard earlier this spring. View 18 Photos This car appears to have been sold new in Denver, and the extensive bodywork and sanded areas indicate that it was someone's project car prior to coming to the end of the line. The front-wheel-drive system used in the Cadillac Eldorados and Oldsmobile Toronados of this era was known as the Unified Powerplant Package, and it used a longitudinally-mounted engine feeding a chain-drive setup that proved to be amazingly sturdy and reliable. So sturdy, in fact, that it was used in gigantic front-wheel-drive GMC motorhomes. Everyone agrees that these cars are cool, but few are willing to rescue a rough example and take on the difficult and expensive job of a full restoration. This one isn't rusty, but that wasn't enough to save it. Related Video:
GM recalls Chevy Impala, Cadillac XTS for braking problem
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Back in April, General Motors launched an investigation into braking issues affecting the 2014 Chevy Impala. Now there's a recall of both the Impala and the Cadillac XTS with which it shares its Epsilon II platform.
The issue apparently revolves around the electronic parking brake, which may not properly disengage. As a result, the rear brake pads could rub the rotor even while the vehicle is in motion, causing "significant heat, smoke and sparks." The earlier investigation had been launched following a complaint regarding the forward collision avoidance system, which is now either appears to have been unrelated or possibly a symptom of this larger issue.
The recall affects 2013-15 XTS models manufactured between February 14, 2012, and August 22, 2014, as well as 2014-15 Impalas manufactured between January 15, 2013, and August 22, 2014. The total number of affected vehicles reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration comes to precisely 132,921 units, while The Detroit News reports a higher total of 205,000 units - the difference potentially coming down to the scope within the US and more broadly across North America. Dealers will contact owners to update the software in order to fix the problem.
