This is a very nice, 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 9 passenger Limousine in good condition inside and out. This car is extremely rare as they built only 710 series 75 sedans and who knows how many are left in the world. It is a great driver for someone as it has had a mild restoration. This caddy was used for the last several years by a specialty Limo company for wedding and special events in northern California. It runs and drives very good and would make a great cruiser, promotional car or functional limo. It has spent most of its life in California. This 1959 Cadillac limo has newer paint job and looks good for a driver. The front and rear chrome bumpers have been redone and look great. The rest of the trim on this car and is completely original and in very good condition for a driver. All of the glass is in excellent condition except one of the rear windows has a small crack. It is sitting on its original wheels and hubcaps wrapped with wide whitewall tires. It has a very nice interior that is a mix of original and redone. All the door panels look to be original. The carpet, headliner front and rear seat have been redone and look very nice. Everything works in the car except the power front seat, horn, clock and original AM radio which are all easy fixes. The rear jump seats are original. The dash pad is original and looks great. It has a broken horn ring and a couple of cracks in the steering wheel. Inside the trunk has been recently redone and looks very nice. Mechanically, the engine and transmission run very good! This Cadillac drives with no issues at all as it should be for use as a limo! The 390ci motor provides great power to move this little diamond around. The car fires right up and runs great. The engine compartment is all stock and original looking. It has factory air conditioning that looks to be all there but needs to be serviced. Fire her up and she's ready to cruise. Luxury car brands scrambling to avoid a blue Christmas
Thu, Nov 2 2017DETROIT — When financial markets surge to new records, sales of luxury cars usually rise, too. Instead, October U.S. auto sales reports on Wednesday showed that a collapse in sales of luxury sedans is accelerating. Consumers have gradually shifted over to luxury sport utility vehicles from sedans in the past decade, but the trend — which has occurred in both the non-luxury and luxury sedan segments of the auto market — was particularly pronounced in October. Sales of Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz S-Class, long a global benchmark for large, premium sedans, plunged 49 percent in October, and are down 24.8 percent for the year to date. General Motors' Cadillac brand said it sold just 779 of its CTS sedans in October. Demand for that car, designed to compete with German luxury sedans, is down nearly 33 percent for the year. "There's still a significant portion of the market that wants a car, but I'm sure there were people who preferred a horse to a car at one point." Cadillac's best-selling model this year is the XT5 compact SUV, which has more than doubled sales from a year ago. The shift within the luxury vehicle market away from sedans toward SUVs of all sizes is forcing some of the most prestigious brands to scramble to add SUV models to their lineups or boost SUV production to meet demand. "In the short term, there will be pressure to add (consumer) incentives, cut production or both," said Cox Automotive analyst Michelle Krebs. "And we just don't see an end in sight to this trend." The Dow Jones Industrial Average has been trading at all-time highs, usually a good sign for luxury sedans, but as major automakers reported new U.S. vehicle sales for October on Wednesday, sales for passenger cars continued their slide while luxury SUV and crossover sales rose again. According to Kelley Blue Book data, in 2007 luxury sedans made up 7.6 percent of U.S. new vehicle sales, while luxury SUVs made up 4.2 percent. Through September this year, luxury SUVs made up just over 7 percent of the market, compared with 4.9 percent for luxury sedans. In the short term, luxury brands could use holiday season sales promotions to clear slow-selling sedans off dealer lots, analysts said. Toyota's Lexus brand said on Wednesday it will launch its "December to Remember" year-end sales promotion for the 18th straight year.
Saturn Vue ignition switch leads to new group of GM recalls totaling 312k
Fri, 08 Aug 2014General Motors has another spate of recalls to announce. This time they cover 312,280 vehicles worldwide, including 269,041 of in the US, in a total of six campaigns. In 2014, the automaker has recalled 29,079,765 vehicles worldwide, with 25,754,356 of those in the US.
The largest among them covers 215,243 units of the Saturn Vue from 2002-2004 model years worldwide, 202,115 in the US. It's possible for the for the key to be removed even when the ignition isn't in the OFF position. The company knows of two crashes and one injury caused by this problem. Dealers are checking the parts and replacing the ignition cylinder and key set, if necessary.
Next is 72,826 models worldwide (48,059 vehicles in the US) of the 2013 Cadillac ATS four-door sedan, 2013 Buick Encore and 2013 Chevy Trax in Canada. It's possible that the for lap belt pretensioner to retract but not to lock, which could increase occupant movement during a crash. Both front, outboard lap belt pretensioners are being replaced, and a stop-sale is in effect on unsold models until the problem is repaired. There are no known crashes or injuries, though.
Cadillac ATS to go racing in 2015 as CTS.V.R replacement
Thu, 21 Aug 2014Cadillac has been racking up victories with the CTS.V.R in Pirelli World Challenge racing for two model generations now, including recent GT class championships in 2012 and 2013. However, even winning racers eventually have to retire, and it looks like the CTS may be taking a bow at the end of the season. In its place, Caddy is reportedly working on a new racecar based on the ATS Coupe, and it might even get to compete internationally.
According to Racer, Pratt & Miller Engineering is leading the development and is already lapping the ATS racecar in Michigan for testing. It reportedly drops the CTS' V8 in favor of a twin-turbocharged V6 powering the rear wheels. Since this is the same team behind the hugely successful Corvette Racing program and the current CTS.V.R, the latest car appears to be in good hands.
The new model would also adhere to GT3 rules, according to Racer, and that might signal a big change for Cadillac's motorsports program. It means that the ATS could be sold to teams in the numerous series around the world that accept these vehicles. That would broaden the luxury coupe's exposure and put it up against GT3 racecars from premium brands, like Bentley, Porsche and McLaren. If it wins, the change could be a marketing bonanza for the brand.
