The seats ARE ALL THEIR rear """jump seats""" are in great shape they all the only part of the interior that is still preserved from being folded up inside the back of the front seat. Pass rear tire loses air over night. it has all 4 original rims and hub caps. limo has history from sun valley resort in Idaho Here is the story of how I bought it. I was living in Hailey Idaho, in 1999 a friend and I were 4x4ing and sticking out of the entrance of the triumph silver mines just south of sun valley was this Cadillac. I was selling cars at a local dealership and he called me a few weeks after and ask me to see if I would find out if it was for sale, 5 months later it was, $5000 in the local paper. I called, went, spoke, and towed it away. His wife said No way. thus I was pinched for the cost, I towed it to Southern Cal replaced the wheal bearing, brakes, tune up and took it for a test drive. Moved to Northern cal, pulled the engine and tranny out and swapped it with what is in now. I do not have the engine and tranny I pulled due the fact I gave it away 9 years ago, some guy put it in his qtr mile race truck. The engine runs, I have done 3 oil changes and every time its chocolate milk, all other parts that are missing in pics are in trunk. A few missing parts are missing but obtainable. When I bought it, I went to the resort and library were there are over 2 dozen photos of 2 limos sitting in front of resort with famous actors politicians and Ernest Hemingway himself sitting on hood/bumper with Cary Grant. call the resort to confirm. The other limo is in Utah, being used as a taxi was what I was told. I bought a pass side front door and other misc stainless parts, the only parts that are missing are the rear qtr chrome fins that go on the bullet shaped parts on the rear qtrs, the pass rear door and pass rear qtr panel need some metal shaping and or replacing, you can get a pass rear door for $800 from cadillac parts on line, they say they have it. I have had this for 15 years with a dream of restoring one day as a road trip cruiser. Its priced to sell. I replaced front windshield with used glass but still needs rubber weathering striping I called metro and they sent me a sample, needs front door vent glass and one rear door glass replaced, I made polycarbonate ones to seal it up due to rain and rats. yes their might be a few thinking its a Cadillac Resort! |

Our favorite mid-engine Corvette theories and rumors
Tue, Sep 13 2016The mid-engine Corvette! We just saw blurry photos through the foliage, and are hearts are all aflutter because it means that this car is real. And it's the most " never before" Corvette since 1984. Which leads us to all kinds of wacky theories and speculation. Everybody knows something or heard from a guy. None of those guys (or gals) from GM are talking to Autoblog, to be clear. But that won't stop us from stirring the pot. Let's go over a few point-by-point. The pushrod engine will be replaced by an overhead-cam V8 Car and Driver has repeatedly reported that an overhead-cam engine will come after the mid-engine Corvette's debut with an old-school pushrod. We've heard the same thing firsthand, albeit from a source with no connection to the development of the Corvette or powertrain. "At some point two valves can't pass future emissions regulations," said the guy we know. While the pushrod engine is compact, the design makes it difficult - if not impossible - for sophisticated variable valve timing (and lift) systems that control combustion with more precision. Hasty conclusion: The pushrod engine has a finite life in front of it. This one's a lock, it's a just a matter of when. Bowling Green's new paint shop is really the mid-engine assembly line Credit to Reddit for this one. Like we said, everybody knows a guy. But let's look deeper. The new paint facility costs $439 million dollars and adds 450,000 square feet, almost half the size of the existing plant. Plus GM announced another $290 million in upgrades at Bowling Green Assembly. That sure sounds like a lot of money, but you can actually spend that much on a paint booth. Porsche spent 500 million Euros (about $561 million dollars) to add the Macan assembly to its Leipzig, Germany plant in 2014. Chrysler shelled out $850 million for a paint shop in Sterling Heights, Michigan. GM spent $600 million for a new paint shop at the Fairfax (Kansas City) plant. Honda, on the other hand, is working on a thrifty $210 million project in Marysville, Ohio that includes a 300,000 square foot expansion, and the low-volume Acura NSX facility only cost $70 million. Hasty conclusion: The square footage and cost could easily mean a new assembly line instead of (or in addition to) a paint line. And if the NSX plant was really that cheap, GM could have hidden a similar sum in its existing announcements.
2016 Cadillac ATS-V blasts into LA
Tue, 18 Nov 2014The first details about the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V recently hit the web ahead of the official debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Now, the latest model to wear Caddy's high-performance V moniker is officially official, and the specs are even better than initial rumors suggested.
The latest figures actually give the ATS-V a hair more power than first believed, with 455 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque pumping out of the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6. With a standard electronic limited-slip differential keeping rear wheels in check, Cadillac claims that the model sprints to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 185 mph. Buyers have two transmission choices that both offer launch control: a six-speed manual featuring Active Rev Match and no-lift shifting, or an eight-speed automatic.
Thoroughly revised suspension and braking systems should also mean that the ATS-V excels at more than just going in a straight line. The chassis itself receives extra bracing to boost overall stiffness by 25 percent over lesser ATS models. On top of that, a host of suspension upgrades front and rear, including third-generation Magnetic Ride Control dampers, mean quicker steering response and a tighter ride. Plus, Brembo six-piston calipers up front and four-pistons in the rear should bring rapid deceleration. To tune it all to the driver's whim, the Performance Traction Management system gives five settings to choose from for stability and traction control.
Cadillac's de Nysschen takes aim at Porsche 911, Cayenne
Mon, Nov 24 2014Johan de Nysschen has big plans for Cadillac. He's moved the brand from Detroit to New York, revamped its model nomenclature, and planning a raft of new models for the near future – including a $250,000 luxury sedan to take on the likes of Rolls-Royce and Bentley. But the veteran executive of luxury automakers has some more performance-oriented machinery in mind, too. Speaking with Car and Driver at the Los Angeles Auto Show last week, de Nysschen suggested Cadillac could be ready to launch a flagship sports car sometime in the next decade. The halo model would take aim at the Porsche 911 and do for Cadillac what Audi did with the R8, Mercedes is doing with the AMG GT and Acura once did (and is aiming to do again) with the NSX. Just what form it would take remains a big unknown, but de Nysschen indicated that the brand would need to be built up further before the sports car would be launched, lest it emerge too detached from Cadillac's image. The last time Cadillac delved into that territory was with the Corvette-based XLR, of which it sold only 15,000 or so examples – far below initial targets. The 911 rival isn't the only performance model de Nysschen has in mind, however. He plans to further expand the V series into a more substantial sub-brand to include a crossover to take on the likes of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, BMW X5 M and all those many AMG-tuned Mercedes utilities. The idea of an entry-level model to slot in below the ATS was mooted as well. A range of diesel engines are slated to help Cadillac break into overseas markets in similar fashion to how Maserati has expanded its market reach with oil-burning versions of the Ghibli and Quattroporte. And we wouldn't be surprised to see Cadillac get in on a new flagship SUV being launched by Opel in Europe, either.
