You've seen the rest. Now you are looking at one of the best. If you are in the market for one of these late model Eldorados, you will be hard-pressed to find a cleaner, nicer one. This beauty is dealer serviced, and in excellent condition.

This White Diamond Tricoat painted 1997 Eldorado Touring Coupe has 67,450 original miles, and has been extremely well taken care of. It has a 32 valve, 300HP Northstar V8 and 4 speed automatic transmission. Power windows and door locks. I installed the updated stereo with CD player from the 99' model, and added an iPod module which connects thru the factory 12 disc cd changer, and interfaces with the radio and steering wheel controls. I am the second owner. The car is immaculate and a daily driver.

The car is in perfect working order. Everything works, including the AC (which was recently serviced).

The interior is immaculate. The windows were just tinted, and I recently paid over $2,000 to have the front seats and center console reupholstered with fresh leather. I had custom Cadillac crest emblems embroidered in the headrests.

The body, aside from a few minor scratches, is immaculate as well, and the White Diamond Paint shines bright.

I recently had all four wheels re-chromed, including matching Vogue caps at Martin Cadillac.

Under the hood, the 32 valve 300HP Northstar purrs.

I have recently replaced, all with all genuine GM parts (except as noted below):
*AC Delco Battery
*Both belts
*Radiator hoses, radiator flush, thermostat
*Fuel filter
*Transmission service
*Tune up: Platinum spark plugs, spark plug wires
*Mobil 1 oil change. The car does not leak oil!
*I also installed a new K&N air filter
*(4) new Vogue Wide Trac Touring Gold Stripe Tires (inflated with Nitrogen)
*Front and rear brakes - Pads AND Rotors
*Both front electronic struts (which retail over $1000 each)

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have to sell this beauty. However, I will hold on to it until the right person and bid comes along. Serious inquiries only. I have over $10,000 invested in the car, so please no low balls. I'm already making a sacrifice.

There are a lot of these cars still out there, but few as clean and beautiful, with such low mileage, and dependable as this one.

Cadillac prices new XT5 from $39,990

    Wed, Feb 10 2016

Keen to put your deposit down for a new Cadillac XT5, but waiting to find out how much you'll need to set aside? Well the wait is over, friend, as Cadillac has announced pricing for the new crossover. US pricing starts at $38,995, which works out to $39,990 once you factor in the standard $995 destination charge. That's only $1,390 more than the now wreathless brand charged for the outgoing SRX, which the new XT5 replaces and which carried a starting price of $38,600 (delivered). It also undercuts the competition from most other luxury automakers. The BMW X3 ($40,495), Audi Q5 ($40,900), Lexus RX 350 ($42,850), and Infiniti QX70 ($45,850) each start at a higher base price than the Caddy. However the Mercedes GLE stats marginally lower at $39,875, and the Lincoln MKX goes for significantly less at $37,935 – all prices including destination charges. Of course, that starting price is just for the base model with front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional on Luxury and Premium models, but comes standard on the top-spec Platinum. Step that far up the ladder, though, and you'll be looking at $63,495 (delivered). Related Video: New 2017 Cadillac XT5 Crossover Arrives in April 2017 XT5 CROSSOVER PRICED FROM $38,995 IN THE U.S. 2016-02-10 The first-ever Cadillac XT5 will arrive in U.S. dealerships in early-April, continuing the brand's product-driven growth. XT5 enters the strongest category in the luxury automotive space, the midsize luxury crossover segment, where Cadillac set sales records in 2015. "The arrival of this sophisticated new crossover positions Cadillac well, as XT5 enters the most popular segment in the global luxury market," said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. "It's pivotal to our ongoing growth, which is why we've developed XT5 from the inside out to provide customers more space, more technology, more luxury and more efficiency." The XT5 is the first in a series of upcoming luxury crossovers carrying the "XT" designation, a key aspect of the brand's product-driven global growth plan. The new luxury crossover joins Cadillac's lineup immediately following the new range-topping CT6 Sedan, as the brand enters a new phase of product growth. The XT5 is the next chapter in elevating the Cadillac brand: it is bold, distinctive and sophisticated with enhanced driving dynamics. This new crossover perfectly reflects Cadillac's positioning in the luxury automotive marketplace, de Nysschen said.

GM design boss Welburn says Lincoln isn't a Cadillac rival [w/poll]

    Thu, 05 Dec 2013

General Motors Vice President of Global Design, Ed Welburn, had some dismissive words for a certain cross-town luxury brand during an interview with Car and Driver. When asked about his thoughts on Lincoln, Welburn deflected, before saying, "I don't consider Lincoln to be a competitor for Cadillac."
"They're not a global luxury brand. I don't consider them a competitor. Are they a competitor for Buick? Quite possibly. But not for Cadillac," GM's head designer explained. Welburn, who's been at the helm of GM Design North America since 2003 and is the first to hold the position of VP of Global Design, has been instrumental in the styling renaissance at GM, so predictably, Car and Driver's interview with him focused on the design aspect of cars.
During the interview, Welburn explicitly denied plans for a reborn Cadillac XLR, even as a new Chevrolet Corvette is hitting the market and strides are being made with Cadillac's V-Series performance arm saying, "We have a lot of cars that we're working on for the Cadillac brand. The XLR is not one of them right now."

GM won't really kill off the Chevy Volt and Cadillac CT6, will it?

    Fri, Jul 21 2017

General Motors is apparently considering killing off six slow-selling models by 2020, according to Reuters. But is that really likely? The news is mentioned in a story where UAW president Dennis Williams notes that slumping US car sales could threaten jobs at low-volume factories. Still, we're skeptical that GM is really serious about killing those cars. Reuters specifically calls out the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Sonic, and the Chevrolet Volt. Most of these have been redesigned or refreshed within the past few model years. Four - the LaCrosse, Impala, CT6, and Volt - are built in the Hamtramck factory in Detroit. That plant has made only 35,000 cars this year - down 32 percent from 2016. A typical GM plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year. Of all the cars Williams listed, killing the XTS, Impala, and Sonic make the most sense. They're older and don't sell particularly well. On the other hand, axing the other three seems like an odd move. It would leave Buick and Cadillac without flagship sedans, at least until the rumored Cadillac CT8 arrives. The CT6 was a big investment for GM and backing out after just a few years would be a huge loss. It also uses GM's latest and best materials and technology, making us even more skeptical. The Volt is a hugely important car for Chevrolet, and supplementing it with a crossover makes more sense than replacing it with one. Offering one model with a range of powertrain variants like the Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius might be another route GM could take. All six of these vehicles are sedans, Yes, crossover sales are booming, but there's still a huge market for cars. Backing away from these would be essentially giving up sales to competitors from around the globe. The UAW might simply be publicly pushing GM to move crossover production to Hamtramck to avoid closing the plant and laying off workers. Sales of passenger cars are down across both GM and the industry. Consolidating production in other plants and closing Hamtramck rather than having a single facility focus on sedans might make more sense from a business perspective. GM is also trying to reduce its unsold inventory, meaning current production may be slowed or halted while current cars move into customer hands. There's a lot of politics that goes into building a car. GM wants to do what makes the most sense from a business perspective, while the UAW doesn't workers to lose their jobs when a factory closes.
