In 1957/1958 this was the most expensive car produced in the world and cost $2000 more than a Rolls Royce. The MSRP was a staggering $13,074. That would translate into a present day MSRP of somewhere between $450,000-$500,000 or the price of a top of the line Rolls Royce.

This was a "Motorama Masterpiece" and was conceived in the design studio headed by world renowned designer, Harley Earl. Harley Earl's innovations and incredible design contributions are widely credited with the creation of the MODERN CAR. When Harley joined GM they had no real design studio and by the time Harley retired from GM in 1959, they had 5000+ employees in the design studio.

The car was first shown in 1955 at the L.A. Auto shown and received a tremendous response.

This still remains the ONLY car that was a "Motorama Masterpiece" that went into actual production just as it was shown at the New York Motorama show at the Astor Hotel in the early fall of 1956.

It was a "Car of the Future" that could be purchased now!

Cadillac claims to have lost more than $10,000 on each car produced.

The list of owners of these cars looks like a list of "Who's Who"

Just to name a few.....Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, President Dwight Eisenhower, Mr. Davidson from Harley/Davidson, William Harrah, Judy Garland, Dean Martin, Al Jolson, Cecil B. DeMille and the list goes on and on.

If you were not "somebody special" it was nearly impossible to order one of these cars and all of the production was sold out almost immediately.

It is important to note that other than a hand built 1929-1938 Duesenberg, dual-cowl Phaeton with the famous V-16 Dusenberg engine, the 1957/1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham is the MOST EXPENSIVE American car ever built.

I don't think that having a famous first owner would increase the value of this particular car due to the fact the EVERY original owner was either famous or extremely wealthy. Remember that in this time period you could buy a very nice home in the $8000-$10,000 range so this car cost more than most houses at this time.

The car was completely disassembled with all of the interior and glass carefully removed and all the window motors removed. The car was completely stripped and repainted. Every piece of chrome was re chromed all the stainless was polished.  The interior was completely restored. Leather dash, Door panels and seats. The stainless roof  has zero scratches or dents.

In 57 this model used 2-4 bbl carbs. They have been completely rebuilt. New exhaust, New brakes and all brake components are rebuilt.

Garrett leather was used for this interior. Finish Line Interiors in California, well known for their quality did the interior. The trunk upholstery has not yet been done. The trunk is power and can be raised and lowered with the push of a button inside the glove box.

The engine was completely PROFESSIONALLY rebuilt as was the complete braking system and power booster. The special generator and starter motor were rebuilt as was the entire coolant system. New exhaust. New tires. ETC.ETC.ETC.

We have tried diligently to find any MAJOR flaws in the paint, body, interior, chrome, glass, etc. and have not been able to locate anything that we could list as a MAJOR problem in the description.

I truly believe there is no such thing as a "PERFECT" old car and we ARE NOT making such a claim

We are urging you to come and inspect the car in person, drive it or to hire an expert inspector to do this for you. AGAIN....Please do not ask us to recommend anyone....we want you to select & hire your own inspector.

We know this is a Platinum investment collectable car....it is foolish to invest your hard earned dollars in clones and fakes....this is a car that you can still drive & enjoy and will increase in value...not decrease in value.....and if you chose to...you could drive it every day.

You can look at this car in bright outdoor sunlight or indoors under halogen or florescent light...it still looks flawless...but don't take our word...PLEASE...come and check it out yourself.

As with all of our fine cars...we invite your and urge your personal inspection.

If you see it....and drive it...you will buy it!

This 1969 Ford F-100 has a Cadillac CTS-V engine lurking underhood

Fri, Jan 30 2015

Something always feels just a little taboo when someone builds a custom and then slots in a powertrain from a rival automaker. That's exactly the case with this modded 1969 Ford F-100 boasting a highly tuned LSA supercharged V8 like from the second-gen Cadillac CTS-V. However, with a claimed 800 horsepower on tap thanks in part to running an estimated 20 pounds of boost, it's easy to get over any bad feelings. Built by Tommy Pike Customs in South Carolina, the truck tries to keep the exterior looking somewhat stock. Although, the jade green and satin gold paint, Quaker State logo, lowered suspension and black wheels immediately suggest something is up. Once the F-100 starts up with its menacing growl, absolutely any doubts of this beast being unaltered are immediately gone. Not so obvious are some tweaks to actually help put all that power down, including disc brakes and independent suspension setups at the front and rear. The video gives some glimpses at a few of Pike's other creations, but the real star here is definitely his mean, green Ford.

Cadillac partners with Saks Fifth Avenue for limited-edition ELR

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

There's no softening the blow with this one - this is the limited edition 2014 Cadillac ELR Saks Fifth Avenue Edition, and it costs $89,500, including $995 for destination. The special model, limited to just 100 units, is part of a holiday season collaboration between Cadillac and luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue. In addition to the ELR, there will also be a special "Frozen Escalade" window display at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store near Rockefeller Center in New York City, which will feature the 2015 Escalade with functioning LED running lamps that, as the automaker says, "appear embedded and breaking through a wall of ice."
But back to that ELR. This Saks edition plug-in hybrid coupe commands a surcharge of $14,500 over the $75,000 base model that over 85-percent of Autoblog readers polled already feel is overpriced. For that extra coin, you get an ELR wearing exclusive (to this car) White Diamond paint matched with either a jet black or light cashmere interior. Buyers will also receive an upgraded 240-volt charging station complete with professional installation, and the cars come with Cadillac's ELR Concierge service - representatives "trained in white-glove customer care" that serve as an additional point of contact beyond the dealership when it comes to topics like like battery care, charging, service scheduling and news updates.
Folks who order the Saks Fifth Avenue ELR are expected to receive their cars in March of next year. Price aside, we're sure it'll look great parked alongside the Neiman Marcus Aston Martin Vanquish Volante in owners' garages. Scroll down for Cadillac's official press blast.

Tesla leads and Infiniti bleeds in Consumer Reports' satisfaction survey

Mon, Feb 8 2021

According to Consumer Reports, Tesla owners are more likely to rave about their vehicles than any other brand. And we're not surprised — Tesla has performed very well in past customer satisfaction surveys, despite the fact that the electric cars themselves tend to have more problems than most other automobiles. Second place went to Lincoln, which interestingly had a higher cumulative score than Tesla in individual category measurements like comfort and storage space. Ram, a truck-only brand, rounded out the top three. The consumer-focused magazine bases its owner satisfaction score on responses to a very simple question: Would you buy this exact car again? The higher percentage of owners who answer "definitely yes" to that question, the higher the satisfaction score. Further breakdowns are scored for other parts of the ownership experience, which is why brands that rank poorly in Consumer Reports' own reliability charts — like Tesla and Lincoln, for example — can still earn top marks for satisfaction. The lowest-ranked brands for satisfaction are Cadillac, Nissan and Infiniti. Interestingly, Cadillac performed better than average in Driving and Comfort and middle-of-the-road in the In-Car Electronics and Cabin Storage, but like most other brands, scored poorly in Value. In fact, only Subaru, Mazda and Volkswagen scored better than average in Value. Nissan and especially Infiniti earned comparatively low marks across the board to go along with the bottom-of-the-barrel satisfaction score. Here's the full list of automakers from Consumer Reports' satisfaction survey, ranked in order from best to worst: Tesla Lincoln Ram Chrysler Subaru Hyundai Porsche Dodge Mazda Toyota Kia Mini BMW Ford Audi Honda Volvo Volkswagen Lexus Jeep GMC Chevrolet Mercedes-Benz Buick Cadillac Nissan Infiniti It's worth diving into the individual category scores in addition to the official finishing order for a full look at the results. For instance, despite the fact that automakers like Lincoln and Ford use similar infotainment systems, their In-Car Electronics scores don't quite match up. Also, some automakers have full lineups with multiple cars, trucks and SUVs while others offer just a couple of nameplates. Head on over to Consumer Reports for all the details.
