FIRST OF ALL IM A VERY HONEST PERSON TO START WITH, THE ONLY THING THIS CAR NEEDS IS A NEW ALTERNATOR. IT RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT. TIRES ARE IN GOOD CONDITION, STARTS GREAT AND THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTS EXCELLENT .THE PAINT IS NOT PERFECT, LITTLE SCRATCHES HERE AND THERE, THE HARD TOP COULD USE A GOOD TREATMENT TO BRING THE COLOR BACK. ALSO THE DRIVER SEAT ELECTRIC DOESNT WORK BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS OWNER DISCONNECTED IT AND PULLED THE FUSE BECAUSE EVERYTIME HE WOULD GET IN IT WOULD MOVE TO THE 1ST MEMORY AND HE DIDNT KNOW HOW TO CHANGE THE MEMORY BECAUSE HE WAS AN OLDER GENTLEMAN AND WASNT FAMILIAR WITH THE "NEW" ELECTRONICS NOWADAYS. GM recalling Cadillac ATS, XTS, Chevy Impala over faulty brake lamps
Thu, 06 Jun 2013General Motors has issued a recall covering 1,627 sedans over faulty brake lamps. Both the 2013 Cadillac ATS and XTS are affected by this problem, as is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala.
According to an official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, "the brake lamps may intermittently flash without the brakes being applied and the cruise control may disengage" on these vehicles. The report does not state that the brakes themselves are faulty, but rather that "if the brake lamps flash when the vehicle is not slowing, a following driver may not adjust vehicle speed when the vehicle is in fact braking."
This marks the first recall for the 2013 Cadillac ATS, as well as the recently introduced 2014 Chevy Impala. In late 2012, over 12,000 Cadillac XTS models were recalled due to a head restraint issue.
Cadillac considering ultra-luxe, $100k+ Escalade
Tue, Sep 22 2015The Cadillac Escalade has pushed incrementally up-market over the years. From its humble Chevy/GMC truck underpinnings, the latest Escalade starts at $72,970 and tops out at $96,940. But according to the latest reports, Cadillac is weighing an even more upscale version. Though the exact nature of the upgrades that would push the Escalade further up-market remain unknown – and perhaps undecided at this point – the impetus for such a move is crystal clear. European luxury SUVs keep getting more and more expensive, both from established players and new challengers. Bentley just launched the Bentayga, and other luxury marques like Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Maserati, and Lamborghini are all getting into the game. All the while manufacturers like Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz keep rolling out ever more expensive offerings, like the Range Rover Autobiography and anticipating forthcoming Maybach sport-ute. To challenge those European imports with their astronomic price tags, Cadillac could go with an even higher trim level than its existing Platinum spec – or it could go with a more powerful, performance-oriented Escalade V or Vsport. Getting that big a vehicle to hustle would require a lot of power, but then General Motors has never been one to shy away from slotting a bigger engine into its vehicles. One thing's for certain though, and that's that Cadillac isn't quite done with pushing the Escalade higher up the market.
