This classic Cadillac was purchased by me in November 2010.  It is a beautiful, smoke-free car, inside and out, and has been adult-driven and garaged.  The current mileage of 105,779 is believed to be fairly stated.  The body is straight and there is no evidence of any significant damage to the body sheetmetal and absolutely no rust.  The exterior color is Crimson (Bright Red) and the interior is nicely appointed with a medium birchwood leather interior.  There were only 1,507 Eldorado Touring Coupes manufactured by GM for the 1990 model year and with normal attrition, I am sure that number, especially the Crimson color, has been significantly reduced over the past 24 years.

This vehicle handles extremely well and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere in the U.S.  I am to the point in my life that maintaining a nice car, as this one is, is difficult.  This Eldorado will look GREAT in your driveway and you will enjoy and look SUPER while driving it!  It is definitely a "head turner"!  I've owned several of these "Stubby" Cadillac's over the years (Seville STS and Eldorado ETC, 1986 - 1991) and they are tough and reliable vehicles.

Other than routine maintenance, I have made the following improvements:

  • Installed a new headliner;
  • Installed new fuel injectors;
  • Installed a AudioVox APS 25C Prestige Security System;
  • Recent air conditioning draw-down and re-charge;
  • Upgraded rims to Cadillac chrome (I have the original rims [4] they will go with car);
  • Bose system replaced with Pioneer SuperTuner, EEQ MOSFET 50Wx4 AMFMCD player.

Vehicle may be picked up by buyer or buyer must make arrangements for shipping.  Payment for vehicle may be made in cash or certified bank check.  Should you have questions, you may contact me by email or by telephone at 601-924-5600, CDT.

Cadillac ATS-V Coupe caught undisguised ahead of LA reveal

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

Vsport versions of the CTS and XTS sedans are all well and good, but what Cadillac enthusiasts have really been looking forward to is the arrival of the next full-on V model. And here we have it.
Spied in the nude during an apparent photo shoot ahead of its anticipated debut at the fast-approaching Los Angeles Auto Show, the upcoming new Cadillac ATS-V Coupe is set to pick up where the old CTS-V left off, only in a more compact form. Unlike previous spy shots of heavily disguised prototypes, this final version is showing a chrome-framed mesh grille, along with a deep lower air dam with what looks to be a carbon-fiber front splitter. That bulging hood with heat extractor vents is tipped to be packing a twin-turbo V6 engine, breathing out of quad exhaust tips.
The aggressive aero kit also encompasses side skirts, a reshaped rear bumper and a lip spoiler on the truck, while the upgraded rolling stock wears serious low-profile rubber and the brakes appear to be carbon-ceramic units. Peer through the window and you can even see the sport bucket seats with slots for racing harnesses. All of which suggests a serious American challenger to the BMW M4 and its ilk, and we're looking forward to seeing the vehicle in the metal in LA next month.

Cool car technology is cool until it breaks

Fri, Mar 27 2015

Ah, technology – the beautiful date that impresses all your friends but costs you a fortune to keep happy, up-to-date, and working. Automotive News puts some numbers to the economic toll we're paying to jockey this technological Trojan horse, an analysis it sums up with "Technology is great - until you have to replace it." Back in 2000, for instance, you could replace a Cadillac Escalade taillight lens for $56.08, or replace the entire unit for $220.49. Crack the rear lens on your 2015 Escalade and you have to buy a new unit for $795 - there's no such thing as just replacing a lens anymore. What about headlights? It was $210 for an Escalade headlight in 2000, it's $1,650 for the current unit (pictured). This is nothing we didn't know, these are just hard numbers to demonstrate it. Edmunds recently provided the same with its sledgehammer-bashing of the 2015 Ford F-150, Tesla Model S buyers have been shrieking about repair costs to their electric sedan's all-aluminum bodywork, and used-car sites are full of articles about which expensive-to-repair features to steer clear of if you want to avoid big repair bills. Those expensive bits increase the price of a car - Kelley Blue Book says the average price of a car is now more than $33,000 - and that raises rates for repairs and insurance. This comes in spite of some carmakers that have been collaborating with insurance companies and repair shops at the design stage in order to engineer parts that are easier and less expensive to replace. But the tech can have its cost-saving benefits: a 2011 study by the Highway Loss Data Institute found that Volvos fitted with that company's City Safety feature "filed 27 percent fewer property-damage liability claims" than luxury SUVs without it, and just last month the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety called adaptive headlights one of the top four crash-preventing technologies on cars today (after coming out against them in 2006). So yes, the technology costs a mint when it needs to be fixed - but being able to avoid an accident in the first place might make it worth it.
