A beautiful unmolested Fort Myers, Florida car for most of its life, and obviously kept indoors all the time. The Hatteras blue factory cabriolet top is like new. All rubber seals and seams are supple and without cracks. Factory tented windows keep the car cool & somewhat mysterious inside. The interior leather is plush and tight, and the interior carpet is rich with full color. The surround AM/FM sound system works beautifully, as do all interior lights. There is NO RUST anywhere on the vehicle! The Engine and transmission work effortlessly, with rebuilt done around 84,000. Engine compartment looks new. Exhaust and all related systems fully functional. Tires at 90%. The car has never been hit, and there are no dents from Midwest hail damage or gang related activities. This beauty has had below normal wear & tear as any pampered, slightly overweight retired Old guy with his Eldo should. I replaced the heater core, and climate control computer, so A/C works very cold, as does the heater too. The trunk is immaculate and beautiful. The touring package makes the car to glide down the road, a very comfortable car to go anywhere. I am selling as I bought my wife an MG, and it gets the garage space for the winter months. South Dakota dealer filled to brim with classic cars
Wed, 12 Mar 2014Other than the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Mount Rushmore, South Dakota isn't generally a hot topic, but that just means that cool stuff can hide in the open waiting to be discovered. Case in point: the classic car dealer Frankman Motor Company that operates three locations in Sioux Falls, SD.
Unearthed by the folks at Bring a Trailer, Frankman is a treasure trove of vintage, American iron. Their collection is full of the type of vehicles your irresponsible but cool uncle would show up with when you were a kid. Even better, these cars are priced at a level a working man can afford.
If you are lusting about a cruiser then Frankman has a 1956 Cadillac Deville Hard Top Sedan (pictured right) with 82,896 miles for $12,975. It's painted a color called Cascade Grey, but looks more like a pastel purple in pictures. While it needs some repairs to the accessories, the Caddy runs and drives, which is all you really need.
Cadillac considering more electric cars, Elmiraj business case gaining popularity
Fri, 01 Nov 2013Cadillac's electrification isn't likely to stop at the $76,000 ELR coupe, according a report from TheDetroitBureau.com. Speaking to Cadillac's global sales boss, Bob Ferguson, a successful ELR will likely lead to a larger, even more upscale offering than the Volt-based two-door. "I could certainly see a larger vehicle, something even more luxurious," Ferguson said of a potential second, battery-powered Caddy.
That car would likely boast a more potent version of the Voltec powertrain that motivates the Volt and ELR. This next-generation system is still sometime off, though, and won't likely arrive until the second-generation Volt hits the market.
Besides hinting at future plug-in hybrids, Ferguson spoke to TDB about the improving business case for the Elmiraj Concept, shown at the Pebble Beach Concours in Monterey in August. "I'm very excited about the reception for the Elmiraj," Ferguson said. "I'd like to see it in showrooms as soon as possible," he added, before saying that a business case for the production version of the big coupe still needed to be presented to the brass. "It was made to be operationalized," Ferguson added, which is just what we want to hear when it comes to big, flashy concept cars.
Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment
Thu, 20 Mar 2014One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
