The car itself is in excellent condition.Motor runs great.Trans shift smoothly.Great gas mileage.Blue leather interior is in good shape however the driver seat has a separation in a seam, and some foam is hanging out.Stainless steel roof is perfect.Padded vinyl quarter roof is in excellent condition.Rubber bumper extensions are all cracked and broken, however, car comes with replacements.Needs paint job, Hood has surface rust and rear quarters are primered, ready to go.Rear disc brakes need a little work."

I bought this car thinking I was going to pull the engine out of it and use it in a different car.  My plans have changed,  and now I just need the money from selling it.

This is a very cool car.  1981  was the only model year to come equipped with the V8-6-4  motor.  This motor got bad reputation from people who did not understand it.  It has the ability to shut off 2 or 4 cylinders while cruising down the road.  Do can feel it when this happens,  and because of that, many people felt it was a bad engine.  On the contrary,  these engines are solid as a rock,  and if you happen to find one that still has the ability to shutdown cylinders (like this one)  you will find an amazing savings in gasoline. The dashboard computer which displays MPG,  jumps up by 10 to 12 MPG when the cylinders shutdown.  When you need additional power again,  you simply press the gas pedal down,  and all 8 cylinders  come back to life quicker than any automatic car could downshift.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to own an amazing piece of Cadillac history!!

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
