1974 Caddy Eldo convertible up for auction with only 65k miles.
Engine, 500 V8 with automatic transmission. Options include disc brakes, telescoping and tilt steering wheel, 60/40 split power bench seat, twilight sentinel / auto dimming lights, power trunk release and power trunk pull down. including am/ fm auto-seek stereo with tape player. Mechanical: Caddy runs nice and quiet. The a/c (blows warm), the cruise control needs a new rubber "bellows" to work again. Cosmetic: convertible top replaced , top goes up and down easily with the push of a button, no help necessary. Power windows work well, Interior is like new as seen in the pix. The door panels and rear panels are also like new. The dashboard is perfect, no cracks anywhere. The carpet is in good shape and has no rips or bare spots. The Caddy paint shines and looks great for 40 year old car with only small imperfection’s . The chrome bumpers are in great shape, no pitting or fading. When you look at, get into and drive this car it's clear that's she's always been treated with love. She's roadworthy, all directional/brake/turn signal/headlights work, even the cool multi-color fender indicators. Engine always starts easily. Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly, 8.0 liter V8 moves this big caddy easily up the highway with LOTS of power. The Caddy tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She idles perfectly and the suspension is luxurious. T he Eldo is almost spotless underneath; floors and trunk completely solid. This is the last year the Eldorado had rear fender skirts. Overall, drives like an American classic luxury car should. GM recalling 8.4M cars, 8.2M related to ignition problems
Mon, 30 Jun 2014General Motors today announced a truly massive recall covering some 8.4 million vehicles in North America. Most significantly, 8.2 million examples of the affected vehicles are being called back due to "unintended ignition key rotation," though GM spokesperson Alan Adler tells Autoblog that this issue is not like the infamous Chevy Cobalt ignition switch fiasco.
For the sake of perspective, translated to US population, this total recall figure would equal a car for each resident of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Montana, Delaware, South Dakota, Alaska, North Dakota, the District of Columbia, Vermont and Wyoming. Combined. Here's how it all breaks down:

GM posts $4 billion third-quarter profit thanks to trucks and SUVs
Thu, Nov 5 2020DETROIT — General Motors is posting huge third quarter numbers, pulling in $4 billion in profit over three months after losing money due to the virus outbreak. GM's adjusted earnings were $2.83 per share, easily outpacing Wall Street's per-share projections of $1.43, according to a survey by FactSet. Revenue of $35.5 billion also edged out most expectations. Shares jumped almost 6% before the opening bell Thursday. The company swung back from a $806 million loss in the second quarter, when it was restarting factories shuttered for safety during the early stages of the pandemic. The Detroit automaker joined most global automakers in reporting better-than-expected earnings from July through September as sales across the globe started to rebound from coronavirus lockdowns, especially in China. GM sales in China jumped 12% in the third quarter, with sales of its Buick and Cadillac brands both rising more than 25%. In the U.S., GMÂ’s most profitable market, sales fell 9.9% in the third quarter compared with a year ago, but were a dramatic improvement over the 34% drop in the second quarter. Sales improved sequentially each month, the automaker said, an encouraging trend. GMÂ’s profit was boosted by higher-priced pickup trucks and large SUVs, which have seen strong sales in the U.S. through the pandemic. It was the best quarter on record for GM's Chevrolet Blazer. Sales of the Cadillac XT6 spiked 45% in the U.S. over last year. Large pickups also sold well. GM also said it was pumping $2 billion into its Spring Hill, Tennessee manufacturing plant to push its transition to produce electric vehicles. Last week, crosstown rivals Fiat Chrysler and Ford reported strong third-quarter net income. FCA said it made $1.4 billion for the period, while Ford earned $2.39 billion. Cadillac CT6 hybrid likely to appear in Shanghai
Fri, Apr 3 2015Cadillac is poised to reveal a hybrid version of the CT6 sedan later this month at the Shanghai Motor Show. Rumors have swirled of the sedan's pending reveal, and General Motors product chief Mark Reuss reportedly confirmed its existence last fall during an investor conference. On Wednesday, Reuss again said that GM is working on the hybrid CT6, and when asked by Autoblog, he hinted at the pending debut. "We've really got to wait until we finish rounding out the portfolio," he said. "The Shanghai show is where you should look for all of it. So stay tuned." A Cadillac spokesman declined to comment, but confirmed "we will add variants." The brand has already announced two V6 engines and is looking to expand the line. Reuss also said GM has considered a V-Series model for the CT6, but it's focusing on launching the four-cylinder and V6-powered sedans first and promoting V-Series versions of the CTS and ATS that arrive this year. "The [CT6] architecture is certainly capable of doing it," he said. "The question is who's going to buy the CT6? What kind of person? And do we need a V-Series off of that is the question we haven't answered yet. It's certainly capable of doing it ... we've certainly thought about it." Details of the hybrid powertrain aren't known, but it could use plug-in technology. Chevrolet announced the 2016 Malibu will get a hybrid model that employs electric powertrain features from the new generation of the Volt. For the CT6, electric-vehicle technologies would likely be used to extend range and aid the performance of the conventional engine. Related Video:
