You are about to see one of the nicest, original unrestored Eldorado Convertibles in existence.
The car had one owner a Mrs. Susan Skankus who received this Eldorado as a gift for a late birthday present on July 4, 1972. Mrs. Stankus babied this car and it has never seen rain or snow. She drove it a total of 79,000 miles by 1979. At that point the car was put away in the garage and only received use a few times a summer until a few years ago when she unfortunately passed away in 2009. Her husband sent the car to Cadillac at that point for a full service ($5,000) and the car was once again ready to go. The car has always been started regurally and never sat for any extended period of time. The car is completely and utterly rust free and in impeccable condition with not one door ding or thin spot in the paint. For the paint being as old as it is, its almost blemish free! The three imperfections in the paint are on each side where the parade boot would be installed and are too minute to photograph. The third blemish is a touched up 2" long minute scratch on the bottom of the passenger side quarter panel that would not photograph. The chrome is as close to being flawless as it can possibly be for 1972 vintage, with no dents, dings or pits.
The interior is impeccable and completely original. The seats look like they have never been sat in. The steering wheel looks like it was never touched. The carpet is stain free. The only blemish you can find on the interior is a tiny crack in the drivers side door panel too shallow to see and about 1" in length. All lights, gauges, signals, horn, air conditioning work as it should. The car drives perfectly flat as a pancake and starts on the first flick of the original set of keys.
The top is power and the top is brand new, the original top has some minor shrinkage issues and a top of the line OEM replacement was used with a glass rear window.
In short, this car has no excuses and makes no excuses. It does not smoke or use oil, the trans shifts great and the car drives like it is on a cloud.
I encourage local inspection and it should be known that the car is for sale locally and this auction can and will be ended in the event of a local sale.
The first person that sees and drives this car will buy it...it's that nice that words, pictures or video could not express.
My cell # is 312 622 7533 and you can call me at any reasonable hour to discuss a purchase on this car. I am not a dealer, but a enthusiast and collector.
Note the picture from when the car was new. There also is a long in depth video below that might not be viewable from your mobile device. Please check it out from a home based PC.

GM veteran Bryan Nesbitt tapped to head Buick design
Sat, Jun 6 2015General Motors styling veteran Bryan Nesbitt (pictured above) took over a new role on Monday as executive director of global Buick design and global architectures. Andrew Smith, who previously did that job and also coordinated the look for Cadillac, has remained in charge of the pen at Caddy with this shift. Nesbitt rose to prominence when he designed the Chrysler PT Cruiser, according to Automotive News. He joined GM in 2001 and has been there ever since in multiple high-level roles. In 2007, he was appointed vice president of design for North America and was later briefly general manager of Cadillac in 2009-2010. Nesbitt took over as the vice president of GM's international operations design in China in 2011. This shuffle also moves Ken Parkinson, currently styling boss for Chevrolet trucks, to China as design vice president there. In addition, John Cafaro becomes the person in charge of the look for Chevy globally, rather than previously splitting that role between cars and trucks with Parkinson. GM Global Design Leadership Changes – effective June 1, 2015. Bryan Nesbitt, Design Vice President, GM China will repatriate to North America and assume the position of Executive Director, Global Buick and Global Architectures. He will be located in Warren, MI. Bryan will be the design Champion for Buick in the US and China. Ken Parkinson, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Trucks and Global Architecture will assume the position of Design Vice President, GM China. He will be based in Shanghai, China. Andrew Smith, Executive Director, Global Cadillac and Buick Design will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Cadillac. He will continue to be the design Champion for the Cadillac brand. In addition, he will continue to lead the Global Color & Trim team. He will be based in Warren, Michigan. John Cafaro, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Cars will assume the position of Executive Director, Global Chevrolet. He will be the design Champion for Chevrolet. In addition, John will lead the exterior components and accessories team. He will continue to be based in Warren, MI. The roles and responsibilities of Helen Emsley, Mark Adams, Carlos Barba, Clay Dean, Michael Simcoe, and Teckla Rhoades remain the same. Cadillac's new ad campaign to tell you how to get lucky
Thu, 05 Sep 2013Cadillac is set to launch a new ad campaign this fall, as it attempts to maintain the momentum established by new models like the ATS. The campaign comes from an agency called Rogue, and according to AdAge, will lean on American values. It's called, "Work Hard. Be Lucky."
The campaign is fairly self-explanatory, just from the tagline. It's meant to make a Cadillac seem more attainable to the average, aspirational buyer. It does kind of pander to that American idea that everyone's hard work gets rewarded, but as ad campaigns go, that's not a bad thing.
Somehow, it doesn't roll off the tongue quite like "The Standard of the World." As AdAge points out, Cadillac's advertising over the years has lacked a real coherent theme, although we'll admit to enjoying the most recent campaigns, particularly the around-the-world jaunts with the ATS. It's unclear if the "Work Hard. Be Lucky." theme will evolve into an actual tagline for the brand, with Caddy spokesman Dave Caldwell telling the advertising mag, "It could very easily end up being a line of copy along with other lines; we don't really know yet. It's an open question as to how dramatically it will be featured."
