This car is a great driving and handling car for it's size. I have owned it since 1999 and taken very good care of it with the following work done.

- New Radiator 2001
- Heads rebuilt and planed. 2005
- New exhaust manifolds. 2005
- New exhaust system, original equipment from manifolds and "y" pipe, custom dual exhaust on back. 2009
- Painted to original color by professional. NO BONDO. 2004
- Front steering and brakes rebuilt. 2009
- Top replaced 1999
- 4" infinity speakers installed under dash pad. 2005
- New carpet 2003
- New Battery 2013

Mechanically speaking this car starts and runs great. Engine is very strong and transmission is responsive and tight. I would not hesitate to drive this car across country if I needed to. The 500 cubic inch engine is 9.5:1 compression so I have always run 94 octane in it since I've owned it. Car was not rusty before it was painted, just faded, that was the reason for repaint. This car is old and as you can see from the pictures the interior is original and would need to be replaced in order for the car to be at "the next level" of restoration. Here is a list of some of the things that are non-working/wore/etc....

- Interior is orignal, door panels cracked at armrest, small hole in passenger side seat. Dash is in excellent shape, no fading or cracks, no cracks on steering wheel either.
- Small pits in chrome on exterior door handles, one small nickel size blemish in rear bumper near left tail light, barely visible. All other chrome is in great shape.
- Glass rear window broke on me when folding the top with something on it, bad move on my part, I have a new replacement window with defroster to go back in it.
- Top is in great shape other than it could use a scrubbing to make really white. Mechanism for top operates fine.
- Original radio does not work, I mounted a cd player under the dash and put new infinity speakers in the dash not to ruin the original appearance. Cd player quit working so there is nothing there now.
- A/C not working
- Cruise Control not working.

I do have some the soft parade top, extra trim parts, shop manual, pinstriping manual, retractable top manual, owners manual, sales brochure and a car cover that I will include in the auction.

I have tried to represent this car to the best of my abilities, please contact me if you have any other questions or would like specific pictures emailed or posted. Thanks for looking, Matt

GM to add 1,200 workers at 2 Michigan factories

Sat, Feb 29 2020

DETROIT — General Motors is adding 1,200 jobs at two Michigan factories to build midsize SUVs and two new luxury sedans. GM said Friday that its Lansing Delta Township plant will get a third shift and 800 more workers to build the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave SUVs, which have three rows of seats. The Lansing Grand River plant will get a second shift and 400 more workers to build two new Cadillac sedans, the CT4 and CT5. Employees laid off at other GM factories will fill the new jobs first, then workers will be added, GM spokesman Dan Flores said. The company has not determined yet how many new people will be needed, he said. Both additional shifts will start working sometime between April and June, the company said. Lansing Delta Township now employs about 2,500 salaried and blue-collar workers, while the Grand River plant has 1,400. GM sold more than 147,000 Traverse SUVs in the U.S. last year, a 0.4% increase from 2018. Enclave sales were up 3% to just over 51,000, according to Autodata Corp. Related Video:

GM design boss Welburn says Lincoln isn't a Cadillac rival [w/poll]

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

General Motors Vice President of Global Design, Ed Welburn, had some dismissive words for a certain cross-town luxury brand during an interview with Car and Driver. When asked about his thoughts on Lincoln, Welburn deflected, before saying, "I don't consider Lincoln to be a competitor for Cadillac."
"They're not a global luxury brand. I don't consider them a competitor. Are they a competitor for Buick? Quite possibly. But not for Cadillac," GM's head designer explained. Welburn, who's been at the helm of GM Design North America since 2003 and is the first to hold the position of VP of Global Design, has been instrumental in the styling renaissance at GM, so predictably, Car and Driver's interview with him focused on the design aspect of cars.
During the interview, Welburn explicitly denied plans for a reborn Cadillac XLR, even as a new Chevrolet Corvette is hitting the market and strides are being made with Cadillac's V-Series performance arm saying, "We have a lot of cars that we're working on for the Cadillac brand. The XLR is not one of them right now."

Cadillac sales chief Peffer resigns amidst slow sales

Fri, 20 Jun 2014

Cadillac continues to hemorrhage executives, as it's just seen its fourth high-level departure in the past year. Vice President of Global Strategic Development Don Butler (who defected to Ford) and European President and Managing Director Susan Docherty both left the company of their own volition, while Chase Hawkins, Cadillac's vice president of sales and service, was fired following a "violation of policy" in July of 2013. Strangely, it's Hawkins' replacement, Bill Peffer (shown above), who has handed in his papers this time around.
"Bill left to pursue other interests. Kurt McNeil replaces him, effective immediately," spokesman David Caldwell told Autoblog via email.
McNeil last held the VP of sales and service position back in 2012. He's currently the vice president of US sales for all of General Motors. According to The Detroit News, McNeil will take on the post in what is likely an interim capacity.
