CALIFORNIA CAR
Persian Ivory Color
Giant 472 V8 375 HP POWER TO SPARE
FWD Coupe

You are sure to be noticed in this land yacht. Float down the road in style! One of the greatest years of the Eldorado and the largest engine Cadillac ever made.

For Cadillac, the front-wheel-drive 1967-1969 Cadillac Eldorado was a revolutionary development, as important as the 1915 V-8, the 1930 Sixteen, the 1938 Sixty Special, and the 1949 V-8. It was the first Cadillac with FWD.

The 1967, 1968, 1969 Cadillac Eldorado was a big, luxurious car that featured fine engineering and attractive, revolutionary styling.
Specifications:
Engines: all ohv V-8; 1967 429 cid (4.13 x 4.00), 340 bhp; 1968-1969 472 cid (4.30 x 4.06), 375 bhp
Transmission: 3-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic
Suspension, front: upper and lower A-arms, torsion bars, stabilizer bar
Suspension, rear: live axle, leaf springs
Brakes: 1967 front/rear drums (front discs optional); 1968-1969 front discs/rear drums
Wheelbase (in.): 120.0
Weight (lbs.): 4,500-4,580

In addition to its superb, razor-edge styling, the 1967, 1968, 1969 Cadillac Eldorado was blessed with fine engineering. What Cadillac had specified was a big, luxurious car with all the traditional virtues allied to outstanding roadability -- a combination it arguably never offered before.

Condition: Eldorado is in very good condition. 78,033 Miles on car, 30,000 on rebuilt engine. New interstate battery. New Edelbrock carburetor. New starter. Recently replaced transmission. Has some radiator issues, probably needs gaskets and not a new radiator. Cracked vinyl upholstery on front seats and interior door handles (see photos). Some rust under leather rooftop (see photo). Trunk latch needs repair (closes but does not sink in and seal as designed). Spare tire damaged. Overall very clean. Chrome very good, no dents or dings. Carpet a bit soiled but in good shape. Please see photos and feel free to ask for more photos or any questions on condition.

I am selling this car for a friend of mine. He is the third owner of the vehicle. It is located in Fairfax, Marin County, California. Local pickup will be from that location, or buyer may arrange shipping service.

Please ask questions and feel free to request more photos.

This is a Sweet Ride!

Cars with the most reckless drivers are full of surprises

Wed, Oct 13 2021

Insurify is a site for comparing auto insurance quotes. Because insurance shoppers need to submit information like the vehicles they're driving and the infractions they've compiled while driving those vehicles, Insurify has quite the database of correlations tying certain models to a habit of breaking certain laws. When the site's data analysts decided to compile a list of the top ten models for reckless driving citations in the decade from 2010 to 2019, the ranking contained a few wild entries. The Dodge Challenger making the countdown will surprise precisely zero people. But the Saturn L200? First, a definition: USLegal.com defines reckless driving as "driving with a willful or wanton disregard for safety. It is the operation of an automobile under such circumstances and in such a manner as to show a willful or reckless disregard of consequences." So this list is a caution about particular drivers more than the cars. For a baseline, according to Insurify data, for any random model, 15 out of 10,000 people who drive that model have picked up one citation for reckless driving. Back to that Challenger, then. No shocker for being here, but it's actually number 10, with 44 out of 10,000 Challenger drivers nabbed for a willful disregard of consequences on the road. That's better than the first surprise entry, the Saturn L200, a sedan only on sale for six years, with the least horsepower on the list, and out of production since 2005. The data set put drivers of GM's extraterrestrial sedan at 45 reckless pilots per 10,000 drivers. There are two pickups on the list, the only modern one being the Ram 1500 at eighth, with a rate of 46 in 10,000. Somehow, drivers of the third-best-selling pickup in the U.S. outrun the overwhelming numerical superiority of the best-selling vehicle in the States, the Ford F-150. The other pickup is the Chevrolet K1500 at number five, with a rate of 56 in 10,000. This is not only the oldest vehicle on the list, it went out of production in 2002, before any other vehicle on the list. Between the trucks, the Volkswagen CC slotted in at seven with 47 in 10,000 reckless driving chits, the Cadillac ATS slipped into sixth with 48 in 10,000.  The top four is a bag of unexpected. The Nissan 370Z is the first hardcore sports car on the list at number four, with 61 in 10,000 Z drivers flaunting their Fairladys in the face of Johnny Law.

Cadillac teases CT4 and CT5 V-Series Blackwing steering wheel

Thu, Aug 20 2020

There's quite a bit that we know about the upcoming Cadillac V-Series Blackwing models. Thanks to spy shooters and prototypes, we've seen the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing out and about testing on public roads, which means we've seen the bronze wheels in staggered sizes. We've been told they will offer proper manual transmissions, and we know they will lap a race track quicker than the ATS-V and CTS-V they replace. And now we know what their steering wheels will look like. It's not much to base an entire teaser on, but there are a few interesting tidbits we can glean from Caddy's first official Blackwing tease. First, the wheel itself. It's leather wrapped (not Alcantra, at least on this example), it looks to have meaty bulges where you'll want to grip it, it has a red strip at the top to help locate straight ahead while driving aggressively, and it has a carbon fiber V-shaped spoke at the bottom. Finally, we see a prominent silver button labeled "V" on the left side that will allow drivers to quickly access V-Mode. To the right will be buttons for the Performance Traction Management system. Judging by the fuzzy background behind the wheel that shows some sort of digital gauge cluster, it seems that Cadillac may be aiming for a 200-mile-per-hour top speed for the CT5-V. That's not a stretch, as the last-generation CTS-V could hit that speed, too. Cadillac smartly took this shot in a way that blurs the center console, which means there's plenty more time to speculate on the transmission choices. Cadillac says the V-Series Blackwing models will be ready in time for the summer of 2021. Stay tuned. Related Video:

Mystery Cadillac Escalade prototype spied testing on public roads

Mon, May 3 2021

This mystery Cadillac Escalade prototype could be a rumored V model featuring a supercharged LT4 V8. This prototype, sporting a fancy exhaust and other unique elements under fairly elaborate camouflage, was spied testing on public roads in Michigan.  Since it's still quite comprehensively disguised, we can't say much for certain about what this prototype has going on underneath. We can see a new set of wheels, a quad-tip exhaust and what appears to be a redesigned lower front bumper, but our spies didn't indicate anything else definitive — not even the telltale whine of a supercharger. That seems a glaring omission, given that a V model would almost certainly be powered by the same supercharged V8 found in the CT5-V Blackwing, where it is expected to develop well north of 650 horsepower.  Cadillac chief engineer Tony Roma has previously suggested that more V-badged cars are in the pipeline without confirming which ones or when to expect them. An unverified report published in February 2021 claims the Escalade's 6.2-liter V8 will soon receive a 200-horsepower bump thanks to a factory-backed, dealer-installed supercharger; a full-fledged V model would take that formula a step further. If you're not familiar with Cadillac's latest performance offerings, "V" models are now the mid-range performance variants, similar to Audi's "S" cars in that they offer a bump in power and handling but stop short of being full-blown track monsters. That treatment is reserved for the new "Blackwing" nameplate, which was derived from the twin-turbocharged V8 of that same name that was originally slated to power those range-topping models.  Related video:
