Up for bid is beautiful and loaded 1967 Cadillac Eldorado. Designed by GM's styling chief Bill Mitchell sports razor sharp edges and crisp body lines that will always keep your eyes entertained each time you look at it. The light hits it in different directions and produces elegant contrasts of the body lines and panels. No wonder it was an instant hit for many Hollywood actors and actresses as well as mobsters and Las Vegas Casino owners. This Eldorado was named "World's Finest Luxury Car" and one look at it explains the reason why. It has hideaway headlights and many luxurious features like cruise control, tilt-telescoping wheel, Guide-Matic headlight control which automatically dims your headlights every time another car approaches then returns back to high beam. It also has twilight sentinel that controls the headlight off as long as a minute and half after you shut the engine. It has power steering, power brakes, power windows, power door locks, remote mirror, AMFM radio, cruise control, climate AC. Paint is beautiful metallic summit gray, it is classy and modern looking and really matches the black vinyl on black interior. It complements the elegant styling of this Caddy. It shines good and body is straight. I was told that it had one repaint in original code at the price of $8000 and that was 14 years ago. I guess it's money well spent. The miles are deemed to be original based on the 2nd owner's account. It still has the original manual and original protecto plate. It was originally purchased from a dealer in Idaho in 1966 by a 70 year old gentleman from Spokane WA and has remained in the dry weather of Spokane until bought from an estate and shipped to Montana. It was always garaged and was not driven much due to old age of owner. The vinyl top still looks beautiful, padding is still soft and lines are firm. Bumpers looks good, trunk still bears the original mats, spare tire and jack still in the foam paddings. Interior is in great condition, dash looks good, headliner looks perfect, seats looks good, carpet is good. It has an extra seatbelt for center that was added later on. Engine runs and drives good, transmission shifts smoothly. Horn works, headlight goes up and down, clock doesn't work, all lights work good, cruise works, radio works, wiper works, horn works, gauges works. trunk looks great. No rust issues. GM's Mark Reuss explains why a performance Cadillac ELR-V won't happen

That's one interpretation of General Motors executive vice president Mark Reuss' response to a question posed by Driving the Nation about the recently-introduced Cadillac ELR plug-in hybrid. Reuss said GM will "definitely expand the tuning envelope" for the ELR. The question was whether GM would consider adding magnetic ride control to the quite-powerful-for-a-plug-in Caddy, creating an "ELR-V" model in the process. Reuss' non-answer: "Good question, can't really answer that," but then elaborated that magnetic ride control uses up "a lot" of power otherwise spoken for in terms of providing the longest electric-only range possible. Interestingly, he did add that GM will "definitely expand the tuning envelope" for the ELR, as you can see in the video below. With the model retailing for north of $75,000, fewer than 60 percent of US Cadillac dealers were carrying the ELR as of last month and just 99 ELRs were sold during the first two months of the year. In an effort to sell more vehicles, GM said in January that it would offer the ELR for a 39-month lease for $699 a month for qualified lessees and with a $5,999 down-payment required. GM To Offer Car That Will Almost Drive Itself
Mon, Sep 8 2014Cars that can talk to each other and almost drive themselves at freeway speeds are just two years away from the showroom, according to General Motors executives. The company announced Sunday that the semi-autonomous system for freeways will be an option on an unidentified new 2017 Cadillac that goes on sale in the summer of 2016. In addition, another 2017 Cadillac, the CTS, will be equipped with radio transmitters and receivers that will let it communicate with other cars, sharing data such as location, speed and whether the driver is applying the brakes. The announcements were made Sunday at the opening of the Intelligent Transportation Society World Congress being held in Detroit this week. They are part of a barrage of similar declarations that are expected from other companies throughout the week as the industry shows off progress toward self-driving and safer cars. The freeway system, dubbed "Super Cruise," uses cameras and radar to keep the car in the center of a lane and also stay a safe distance behind cars in front of it. The system will bring the car to a complete stop if traffic halts without driver action, and it can keep the car going in stop-and-go traffic. Other automakers, such as Mercedes-Benz, now offer similar systems that work at low speeds, but GM says it's the first to announce a system that operates at highway speeds. Others could have freeway systems in two years, though. "If the mood strikes you on the high-speed road from Barstow, California, to Las Vegas, you can take a break from the wheel and pedals and let the car do the work," CEO Mary Barra said in remarks prepared for the conference's keynote address on Sunday. But GM said the car still won't drive itself, and the company is working on a system to monitor drivers to make sure they're still paying attention. Details of that system weren't released. "Sensing technology is not yet to the point where the driver can check out," said John Capp, GM's director of global safety strategy. "This is a level of automation that can be done, that is feasible." The new Cadillac that will get Super Cruise hasn't been officially announced yet. But executives have hinted that GM will build a big rear-drive Caddy to lead its lineup in the coming years. Also Sunday, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced that it will partner with GM, Ford Motor Co.
Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric. Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands. If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla. Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor. Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have: Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter.
