1963 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible 390 Auto on 2040-cars
West Covina, California, United States
1963 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible. The vehicle's restoration was completed in 2010 and has been driven less than 2,000 miles since its completion.191 total production for the Eldorado Biarritz Convertible and very few in this condition are in existence. The Eldorado's condition is a solid number 2 but with a minimal investment could easily be a number 1 and worth over $120K. The exterior paint color is a Matador Red Metallic with red/white interior. The paint is not perfect and does have some blemishes but can be easily corrected without painting the entire vehicle. The top is white and operates fantastically. The top's boot is virtually new since it has been rarely used. The interior of the Eldorado was redone in Genuine leather and the pattern was reproduced from the original. A Custom Audio head unit retains the appearance of the original radio but delivers state of the art sound and function. The stereo systems includes a digital equalizer, 10 CD changer, 1" tweeters (2), 6.5" mids (2) and 12" subs (2); all powered by 2 separate amplifiers. The system has been installed seamlessly and the big sound improves the driving experience. The 390 V8 engine was rebuilt and is still in great condition. The car will start right up and correctly adjust it's idle after warm up just like it did when it was brand new. The transmission was upgraded to a turbo 400 which is far more reliable than the original Hydrajet. The Eldorado's shifts are firm and precise and will get up and go despite its hefty weight. The carburetor was upgraded to a more reliable and fuel efficient Edlebrock. A car this size impressively still manages to deliver an average of 14 mpg City and 18 mpg Hwy. The front brakes were upgraded to discs for superior braking capability. All of the power options work including the powered vent windows which are impressive to see that existed in 1963. The chrome and stainless steel was all re-chromed and re-polished although some of it shows some blemishes but truly impressive for a 50 year old vehicle. The Eldorado's original appearance has been preserved yet all of the mechanical upgrades ensure that this vehicle will be road worthy no matter the distance. There is piece of mind knowing that the Eldorado is as reliable as it looks. A true show winner and it will be the last classic car that you will ever want to own. If you want to drive a classic car that is still as luxurious as when it was new than you want to own this 1963 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible. Limited space in my collection forces me to sell this handsome beauty and it will be truly missed. All Buyers with zero ratings will be disregarded unless they contact me before bidding.

Cadillac ATS-V shares track time and new face with CTS-V sibling
Tue, 24 Jun 2014It's been about eight months since we last heard anything on the eagerly anticipated Cadillac ATS-V, meaning it was high time a new batch of photos arrived of the twin-turbocharged, V6-powered sedan.
This latest round includes a shot of the hot ATS-V alongside the upcoming CTS-V, allowing us to glimpse through the camouflage and spot the family resemblance between the two über sedans. According to our spies, this is the first time we've gotten a look at the ATS-V's fascia without a nose bra to obscure larger details. This isn't the first time we've seen a vertically slated grille on an in-development Cadillac V car, although it is the first time we've seen it on the ATS-V. Aside from the main grille, the shapes of the sportier front fascia of the ATS-V tie in nicely with its big brother. We are rather curious about the hood on the ATS-V. It's difficult to tell from these images, but it looks like there may be some vents up there that may be meant to improve cooling to the alleged 425-horsepower engine.
Other details that we can see include swollen fenders and larger wheels that hide amplified brakes. The rear of the car remains heavily obscured by camo, with the sole details of note being the quad exhausts, which we've spotted on previous ATS-V prototypes.
2014 Cadillac CTS images leak from somewhere
Sun, 24 Mar 2013The redesigned 2014 Cadillac CTS will be unveiled this Tuesday on the eve of the New York Auto Show, but as often happens, some images of the car have leaked onto the web a few days early. Previously, the only information we had on the 2014 CTS concerned the all-new twin-turbo V6 engine that will be found underhood, rated at 420 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
While none show the new car in its entirety, the images do show much of the front end, particularly the headlights that feature vertical bars of LEDs that start down low as foglights and continue up to the top of the front fenders. They're similar to the lighting design first shown on the XTS and ATS, except the lower portions are much taller.
There are also views of the rear end and one of the taillights, as well as an interior shot of the front passenger door. The latter image has us most intrigued, as it shows some very high end materials being used in the new CTS interior. The low-gloss wood trim, in particular, looks very premium.
2016 Cadillac CT6 to get an aluminum body?
Sat, Dec 27 2014Well this is interesting: A hot-off-the-press report in Automobile claims the coming Cadillac CT6 will have an aluminum body. Most write-ups on the CT6 claim it will have a body that's a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel - Automobile itself wrote of "high-strength steel, aluminum, and steel stampings" in October. An all-aluminum body would be quite the reversal, contradicting the last four months of reportage and company statements on the matter. Mark Reuss, EVP of global development at General Motors, told The Detroit News in October, "We will create with the CT6, the world's most advanced body structure... [and] it's not aluminum. It's a stronger, smarter, safer premium luxury vehicle." It echoed the earlier Automobile story in saying the CT6 would use GM's "patented welding technology with high-strength steel, aluminum and steel stampings and castings." That same month, the Wall Street Journal ran a piece titled, "GM Won't Follow Aluminum Strategy in Future Cars," in which Reuss said, "making big statements around all carbon fiber, all aluminum, all magnesium, they're very interesting," and that GM wouldn't be doing it. That piece also circled back to a material mix and GM's special welding process, saying the CT6 "will have a body made of aluminum, high-strength steel and other materials, and will be 100 kilograms (220 pounds) lighter than a similar-sized car made of high-strength steel." We don't know what kind of body Cadillac's new assault on luxury is going to wear, but now we can't wait to find out.
