For sale is a well maintained 2000 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. It has had one owner, non-smoker, no pets and has 33,329 original miles. The car spent the summers in Pennsylvania and the winters in Florida up until last year when it saw its first snow. All books present and service records are available from its purchase date to today. The air conditioning was serviced in 2005 when a leaking hose was replaced. It was evacuated and recharged and is cold. The hood was replaced in 2005 due to paint defects and the dashboard was also replaced in 2005 due to warping. Both repairs were done by the Cadillac dealership in Naples, Florida and used Cadillac replacements parts. The repair was done under warranty. The right rear quarter panel on the car was replaced in 2009 after a minor accident when someone backed into the car while it was parked. Both the quarter panel and the right rear door were repainted... if you look very closely, you can notice a slight difference in the finish at certain angles or in certain lighting conditions, but it is very slight and does not detract from the overall look of the vehicle. All four window regulators/motor assemblies have been replaced. This was a very common defect in engineering on these models and very costly to correct out of warranty... replacement of these parts cost a total of $1548.00. Four new Michelin Symmetry tires were put on the car in the spring of 2010. They currently have about 1000 miles on them. There is a small dent on the trunk of the car under the trunk brake light, to the left of the Cadillac emblem... can be seen in the photos.
This is a very clean car....no rust... photos speak for themselves. For additional information, please contact me and I will be happy to provide answers to your questions.
NOTE: Above is the desciption from my previous sale listing on ebay in December 2012 (mileage has been updated). The bidding did not meet the reserve at that time. This vehicle belonged to my late mother. While I had been driving my mother in this car for some time before she passed away and I knew the car well, it was never housed at my location. When I brought the car home and had it parked in my driveway during the previous sale period, I noticed a sporadic and very small drop of fluid beneath the car. Before relisting the car, I have taken it to my mechanic and had it thoroughly gone over to find the source of this leakage and have it repaired. In the process of tracking down where this fluid was coming from, the mechanic found the car needed a new high pressure hose for the A/C and a new oil sender. We originally thought the drip might be from the transmission because the fluid was redish, but the transmission checked out fine and dry. This particular Cadillac engine takes a specific type of anti-freeze which is also redish. Finally, the drip was traced to the water pump. All these repairs have now been completed at a cost of $623.67... the high pressure hose was replaced and the A/C completely recharged. The oil sender was replaced and a new water pump was installed. This car was in great shape before, but it is now tip-top!! It has been gone over from front to rear by a well respected professional mechanic and any needed repairs have been done. I have also added three additional photos of the vehicle's right side where it was repainted for your review.
This car is clean, it is mechanically sound and a pleasure to drive. Take another look at this well maintained and rare low mileage vehicle!!

Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
2014 Cadillac ELR
Mon, 29 Sep 2014Well, this is awkward.
A few years ago, Audi Of America's boss Johan de Nysschen went on record describing the Chevrolet Volt as "a car for idiots." Fast-forward to earlier this summer, and the well-regarded executive suddenly found himself in a new office with new business cards bearing the title: President, Cadillac. That means that among other challenges, de Nysschen is now tasked with selling the ELR, a car that is, at its core, a Volt in a sportier, less utile frock wearing a price tag that's twice as expensive.
Frankly, it's not a prospect we imagine the South African executive and recent Infiniti boss relishes. Just about nobody is buying the ELR - Cadillac has sold but 774 examples of its plug-in hybrid coupe this year and it presently has an almost a 200-day supply according to Automotive News. What's more, those numbers actually represent big improvements over just a few months ago, before GM started heaping on the incentives. The cynic in us says that the bad news for De Nysschen is that he's got a borderline sales-proof car in his new corporate garage. The good news? Cadillac customers apparently aren't idiots.
New Cadillac ELR ad more educational, less controversial than 'Poolside'
Mon, Mar 24 2014Cadillac's first TV commercial for its ELR plug-in hybrid, Poolside, was a smash hit, in that a lot of people saw and talked about it. The 60-second spot didn't say the car was a plug-in, took potshots at the work ethic of all non-Americans and has raked in over a million views on YouTube (you can add one more here). Caddy's new ELR video will get a lot less media attention, but that's exactly the point. Cadillac claims it was happy with the way actor Neil McDonough strutted his way into the controversial ELR discussion. This time around, though, the coupe gets promoted in a more traditional way: with information about the car and what it can do - you know, drive on electricity, capture braking energy into the battery, go further on gas power when needed, those kinds of things – courtesy of GM's executive chief engineer for electrified vehicles, Pam Fletcher. The tone of the video has not been changed because of the Poolside controversy. David Caldwell, manager of Cadillac communications, tells AutoblogGreen that the new video is not destined for TV and is completely different because it's meant for a different audience. "It doesn't have any direct relation to Poolside," he says. "TV advertising is not necessarily the heart of marketing something like the ELR. Notwithstanding the fact that we had a very thought-provoking ad [laughs]." "We definitely have a need to communicate what the ELR is" - Cadillac's David Caldwell The way you reach out to people via the web is different than the mass-media techniques used in spots like Poolside during big TV events (it aired during the Winter Olympics). The two video spots are different because you need to offer different information in different ways, for example having an ELR website as well as an iPad filled with ELR information at the dealership. For Cadillac, TV is "not going to be the predominant methodology," used to sell the ELR, Caldwell said, "the web is closer to what you need to do to reach people. We definitely have a need to communicate what the ELR is. It's not television advertising at all." Caldwell said a handful of other short videos similar to the new one will go live in the near future, showcasing design and powertrain aspects of the car. Keep an eye out for them – just don't look for them on TV. You can watch the new video below.
