2000 Cadillac Deville Pearl White W/ Light Tan Leather on 2040-cars
Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, United States
overall this car is in great condition. It's my elderly mother's, she is in hospice care and we just want to unload it cheap to have one less thing to worry about. She has put maybe 2 thousand light miles on this car in the last 3-4 years. it rides like a dream, engine seems to run great, no smells, or noises. transmission shifts smoothly. I recommend doing a VIN search to get the exact model description, I know its a 4.6 liter 32v v-8 engine. the paint is as good as you will see for a 2000. mom garaged it at all times. there is some minor black scuffs on the right front bumper that look like they would buff out, I will supply a picture of this. the entry remote needs to be replaced, probably costs about 45 bucks and have to get it set at a dealer. there is a partial slice in the back leather seat drivers side, its not all the way through the leather though. The check coolant levels and check oil light comes on, probably needs to be reset, as coolant levels and oil are fine. this car can be seen and driven here in Jim Thorpe, PA. The pa state inspection is valid until may. This is really a fantastic car for this price, the family just has no need for it. The price is non-negotiable, its cheap. payment required 500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of purchase on ebay, the balance in cash upon picking up the car. title is in hand, and clean. Please if you have any questions ask, and any doubts come check the car out in person. I have detailed the car openly as possible, but nothing beats seeing it with your own eyes. sale is final. Thank you. |

2016 Cadillac CT6 to get an aluminum body?
Sat, Dec 27 2014Well this is interesting: A hot-off-the-press report in Automobile claims the coming Cadillac CT6 will have an aluminum body. Most write-ups on the CT6 claim it will have a body that's a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel - Automobile itself wrote of "high-strength steel, aluminum, and steel stampings" in October. An all-aluminum body would be quite the reversal, contradicting the last four months of reportage and company statements on the matter. Mark Reuss, EVP of global development at General Motors, told The Detroit News in October, "We will create with the CT6, the world's most advanced body structure... [and] it's not aluminum. It's a stronger, smarter, safer premium luxury vehicle." It echoed the earlier Automobile story in saying the CT6 would use GM's "patented welding technology with high-strength steel, aluminum and steel stampings and castings." That same month, the Wall Street Journal ran a piece titled, "GM Won't Follow Aluminum Strategy in Future Cars," in which Reuss said, "making big statements around all carbon fiber, all aluminum, all magnesium, they're very interesting," and that GM wouldn't be doing it. That piece also circled back to a material mix and GM's special welding process, saying the CT6 "will have a body made of aluminum, high-strength steel and other materials, and will be 100 kilograms (220 pounds) lighter than a similar-sized car made of high-strength steel." We don't know what kind of body Cadillac's new assault on luxury is going to wear, but now we can't wait to find out. GM recalls Chevy Impala, Cadillac XTS for braking problem
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Back in April, General Motors launched an investigation into braking issues affecting the 2014 Chevy Impala. Now there's a recall of both the Impala and the Cadillac XTS with which it shares its Epsilon II platform.
The issue apparently revolves around the electronic parking brake, which may not properly disengage. As a result, the rear brake pads could rub the rotor even while the vehicle is in motion, causing "significant heat, smoke and sparks." The earlier investigation had been launched following a complaint regarding the forward collision avoidance system, which is now either appears to have been unrelated or possibly a symptom of this larger issue.
The recall affects 2013-15 XTS models manufactured between February 14, 2012, and August 22, 2014, as well as 2014-15 Impalas manufactured between January 15, 2013, and August 22, 2014. The total number of affected vehicles reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration comes to precisely 132,921 units, while The Detroit News reports a higher total of 205,000 units - the difference potentially coming down to the scope within the US and more broadly across North America. Dealers will contact owners to update the software in order to fix the problem.
