Unbelievable example of this 2 owner, non restored, 29,891 original miles 1964 Cadillac DeVille convertible!

After 19 years under the same ownership, this car has sat in the previous owners garage for 10 years. Due to his age the gentleman was unable to drive it anymore. When the car was active it was only used as a weekend cruiser, here in the South Florida area.

Because the car was stored for so long, it has recently under gone a complete tune up. New items include:
  • New white wall tires
  • New fuel pump
  • New fuel tank and sending unit
  • New motor for convertible top
  • New plugs, wires, points, distributor, filters, and oil
This Cadillac now runs and drives ever so smooth. The car is mechanically sound, both the automatic transmission and original 429ci V8 motor are in excellent running condition.

This is a very high optioned car from factory. Besides it's standard equipment:

Air Cleaner, dry pack
Armrests
Cigarette Lighters
Clock, electric
Front Seat Adjustment
Lights, front ash receivers
Lights, back-up (dual)
Lights, cornering
Light, glove box (automatic)
Light, luggage compartment (automatic)
Visor Vanity Mirror
Visors, dial sun
Wheel Discs
Windshield Washer and Coordinator
Radio
Power seats (not working)
Power windows (all working)
Power top
A/C (blows cold)
and much more...

It has two very rare options you won't find on much DeVille's:

  • Cruise Control
  • Twilight Sentinel - lights can be programmed to be turned off or on and adjust to outside light (automatic lights). This is regulated by a sensor on the left front fender (see photo).
The car has no rust and the paint shines real nice! It has no major dents, dings or scratches. The car has been repainted one time in it's lifetime (original color).
The interior is all original and is also in excellent condition, no major rips, cuts or stains.

This is truly an opportunity to get your hands on a original Deville Convertible. Even the original owners manuals are included! (see photos). This is the 1st time in 20 years the vehicle is being offered for sale, don't miss out!

Cadillac Celestiq previewed as a flagship luxury electric car

Tue, Jan 12 2021

Last year, our Autoblog GreenĀ editor, John Beltz Snyder, got a sneak peik of GM's upcoming electric car roll out. No photos were given, but he described them in great detail. Now we finally get our own peek at one of those cars, the Cadillac Celestiq flagship sedan. Sadly, we don't get a particularly clear look, since Cadillac is only teasing the car at this point, but it's better than nothing, and better than most teasers. We get a top-down shot that reveals the car will share some key cues with the Lyriq crossover EV. Most obvious is the rear with the boomerang taillights and fastback roof, which is a glass unit separated into four pieces. Each piece can be individually adjusted for transparency, and it appears they can be illuminated as well. The front also appears similar to the Lyriq with a geometric grille covered in a transparent panel. The grille looks significantly larger, though. It also features illumination like the crossover. We also get a look at the interior, which prominently features a full-width screen for instruments and infotainment. There appears to be a screen in the center console/stack that can control functions including the roof panel illumination. According to Snyder, the interior also has extensive wood and metal trim intermingling with nifty ambient lighting. Cadillac didn't say much about the mechanical aspects except the basics. It will use GM's Ultium battery technology that will be shared with other products such as the aforementioned Lyriq and the GMC Hummer EV. It will also feature four-wheel steering as well as all-wheel-drive, undoubtedly courtesy of dual motors, one front and one rear. Cadillac previously confirmed that the Celestiq is headed for production. We also suspect that some of the fancy features such as the screens and multi-panel glass roof could make it to production. This is because it's meant to be a halo product showing off the ultimate in luxury and technology from the brand, and it could have a price tag larger than $200,000. We're expecting Cadillac to fully reveal the Celestiq in a few months, but it could be a while before the production version hits the road. The Lyriq isn't going on sale until late next year, and we would bet the Celestiq wouldn't come ahead of it. Related Video:

Corvette's Performance Data Recorder headed to other cars, will Cadillac ATS-V be first?

Fri, 14 Nov 2014

For 2015, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray gained a novel piece of high-performance technology: The Performance Data Recorder. This trick system combines video from a front-mounted camera with in-car data and GPS information to help drivers record and study their lap times, complete with data overlays. While it's a clever tool for track days, it's also finding popularity as a built-in dash cam of sorts. To this point, the technology has been a Corvette exclusive, but General Motors' executive vice president of global product development, Mark Reuss, has confirmed to Autoblog that it will soon be available in other vehicles.
At a media luncheon on Thursday, we asked whether GM was keen to expand usage of the technology to other models, and if we could expect to see something soon. Reuss coyly replied, "What's soon?" When we suggested the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V (which is scheduled to debut at next week's LA Auto Show), he replied, "There will be other uses, and it won't be that far away. How's that?"
Certainly not an outright confirmation, but we wouldn't be at all surprised to see the next high-po Cadillac roll under the klieg lights at the Los Angeles Convention Center next Wednesday brandishing more than just 450 horsepower.

Cadillac adds torque-number badging to most new models starting in 2020

Thu, Mar 14 2019

Few phrases describe huge swaths of America better than a phrase spotted on the back of a top-fuel dragster at an NHRA event: "You can never have too much horsepower or ammunition." If Cadillac CEO and wily Canuck Steve Carlisle has his way, the revised phrase would substitute "torque measured in Newton-meters" for "horsepower." Starting with the 2020 model year, America's luxury brand will add torque figure badges to CT and XT models, beginning with the XT6. The badge above kinda almost sorta represents the torque produced by the luxury crossover's 3.6-liter V6. That badge did not appear on the XT6 we photographed at the Detroit Auto Show. In U.S. parlance, twist in the XT6 comes to 271 pound-feet. Translated to Newton-meters, that's 367 Nm. Then round that up to the nearest 50, which Cadillac will do, and one arrives at 400. True, the rounding prevents a future of number jumbles like the 2020 XT6 367 vs. the 2021 XT6 419T. Nevertheless, we don't know why Cadillac is rounding to the nearest 50 instead of the nearest 25, since 50 Nm is about 37 lb-ft and could conceal a decent torque increase between model years. A "T" denotes turbocharging, and we imagine there'll be designations for hybrids and electric cars. We think most modern attempts at engine-based nomenclatures soon get as complicated as ciphers or come unmoored from their original scheme. And based on our experience with The Average Car Buyer, they don't care. A bigger number, no matter what that number represents, means more, which is the important thing. Because America, right? Maybe not. Carlisle said, "We're not talking about displacements any more," and the new badging will give consumers "a clear understanding of the power differences across the lineup." The brand believes torque provides a better comparison between ICE, hybrid, and EV powertrains and "the balance between fuel economy and performance." As for the immigrant unit of measurement, Carlisle told CNET, " It's metric, it's universal, it's global, we have to think about all the markets that we're doing business in." Oh, and, "Engineers certainly prefer Newton-meters." The new nomenclature will not be applied to V-series models or the Escalade, because the CEO holds that "special cars get special names." We should probably take a moment to reassure the CT and XT models that Steve Carlisle thinks you're all special, too. Just a different kind of special.
