This
is a beautifully cared for and maintained Cadillac with red exterior
and tan interior color combination. Strictly speaking (which most
sellers do NOT do), Kelly
Blue Book would classify this car in “good” condition, although most
people when they look at it call it “very good”. It’s probably right on
the edge between “good” and “very good”. KBB value for “good” is
$2,993.
The
Cadillac DeVille Concours is THE DeVille to have. It is the
performance model – tighter suspension, and a LOT more power (75 more
horsepower than the regular
DeVille model). These DeVille’s deliver a surprising amount of
performance and acceleration – I like to say they’re little rocket ships
disguised in luxury. The Northstar engines last a LONG time. I see
Cadillacs with these engines still running great at
200k miles, and at just 101k miles this car as a lot of life left in it!
The
driving experience in this car is nothing short of spectacular. It is
so powerful, so smooth and so quiet it’s hard to imagine why anyone
would drive anything
else! Driving 80 mph down the freeway is practically the same as doing
10 mph through a parking lot. No loud noise, no vibrations, nothing.
The interior is extremely clean for its age, and the exterior shows beautifully.
Further, the car has just been serviced, and I estimate the matching tires have around 80-90% life left in them.
Everything
on this car works and looks great. Radio works perfect, A/C blows
cold, all windows, locks, lights and other electronics work the way they
should. This
is what gives the car a “good” rating instead of “excellent”:
· Clear coat on hood peeled up in one place
– and on a rear door in another place. Just the clear coat, not the red paint. See photo.
· Small dent near the fuel fill door. See
photo.
· 5-inch tear in driver seat; another 5-inch
tear in front passenger seat. Back seats are great! See photos.
· Rearview mirror is loose.
I’ve
priced this Cadillac under the KBB “good” value. I’m open to offers if
you can tell me why I should discount the price further. This is a LOT
of car for only
$2,900.

Why the 2015 Detroit Auto Show will be the best since The Crisis
Tue, Dec 30 2014The Detroit Auto Show clearly has its swagger back, and the 2015 edition will be a veritable feast for the enthusiast senses. We're talking serious performance, and it will be exhibited in a variety of forms. Sports cars. Supercars. Muscle-bound luxury cars. They're all set for splashy debuts in January in the Motor City. It's another signpost that companies have recovered from the global economic crisis that gripped the industry from 2008-09. For a while, automakers played it safe at Detroit and other shows. Environmentally friendly cars were important, especially for General Motors and Chrysler that were living on loans from Uncle Sam. Ford, Toyota and other companies generally focused on their best-selling or core models. With a few notable exceptions, recent auto shows have been a bit more buttoned-down than in the past. Boring probably isn't the right word, but austerity has been reality. That's changing. Car companies are making money. Sales are up. Aside from the many nagging recalls – and they are notable – the industry now has the time and energy to make performance cars a priority. That will be offered in hard evidence in Detroit. A year from now when we look back at this auto show, we'll sum it up with one word: Horsepower. But make no mistake, this isn't frivolous. Sports and luxury cars are expensive. They're profitable. They boost images and highlight strengths. With that in mind, here are five significant performance-oriented reveals to watch for when the show kicks off in less than two weeks. 2016 Acura NSX Acura's reborn NSX is a strong bet to earn plenty of votes for our Editors' Choice awards. It's one of the most anticipated – and strung-out – reveals of the year. Think back: we actually saw an NSX concept at the 2012 Detroit show, and Acura has spent the last three years teasing the car in a variety of ways. The slow burn, however, means we know a lot about the NSX. It's will use a mid-mounted twin-turbo hybrid powertrain and run with all-wheel drive. It will also wear an innovative zirconium e-coat paint, a new paint process that Honda says is more environmentally friendly. Honda has also said it will build the new NSX in Ohio, where a large part of the car's development work has been done. The original NSX was produced from 1990-2005 and helped establish Acura's performance credentials in the United States. It was a landmark car and a shot across the bow of Ferrari, Lamborghini and others.
Cadillac Elmiraj has production potential
Tue, 20 Aug 2013There are many reasons to love the Cadillac Elmiraj Concept, but not the least of which is how production-ready this big coupe appears to be. Take out the overly fancy interior and a few conceptual elements of the exterior, and this looks like a coupe that could be in dealers now as the successor to the Eldorado.
On top of that, Automotive News is quoting Bob Ferguson, Cadillac senior vice president, as saying that a production version of this car is "very doable." AN adds that if the Monterey showstopper gets the green-light, this car would compete against the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and would based on Cadillac's upcoming rear-wheel-drive flagship sedan due out in 2015. The range-topping coupe would debut sometime after the sedan model. Cross your fingers.
Cadillac HQ has a New York address
Sun, 16 Nov 2014The new home of Cadillac will be in the 330 Hudson building in New York City's Hudson Square, putting the luxury marque smack dab in the middle of three of the city's hippest areas, SoHo, Greenwich Village and Tribeca.
The announcement is yet another milestone in the company's controversial decision to relocate administrative and marketing operations away from Detroit and into the Big Apple.
"The addition of a headquarters office in New York is a key step in Cadillac's ongoing global expansion," Cadillac boss Johan de Nysschen said, according to The Detroit Free Press. "There is no better atmosphere in which to better immerse ourselves into luxury consumer and brand expertise."
