No reserve price, no games!! Offered for your consideration is this 1976 Cadillac Sedan deVille with approximately 84,000 actual miles! I purchased this car about 1 year ago from a young man who had purchased it from the estate of the original owner approximately 2 years prior to that. There is NO RUST of any kind anywhere on this car as it was always kept in Arizona by its original owner. It has not been driven in Winter months since returning to Iowa. The paint is sun-faded and it has had panel paint repairs over the years. The owner prior to me had practiced his buffing on this car and there are some sharp edges where the paint has been burned through. The right-front door has a sizeable dent down low. The factory radio was replaced by its last owner with an after-market stereo. The leather seats are still soft and very presentable, but the white interior door panels have dried out from the Arizona sun and have extensive damage. The rear bumper fillers/quarter panel extensions have been replaced with the more rigid aftermarket extensions. The car runs and drives well, but the brake pedal is getting soft which tells me that it is probably about due for a new master cylinder. The trunk pull-down and release still work perfectly. All four window motors work well, but the right-rear window needs one of the plastic guides replaced as it becomes cocked when going up and down without assistance. 4 matching tires are in good condition. This car is not pristine by any means, but it is a very deserving, strong running, low mileage, Arizona car that needs to be preserved! This car will sell for the highest bid of $2500 or more! Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions that you might have. $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of auction through close through PayPal, with the balance due within 7 days. I have lost my storage, so the vehicle must be picked up by October 1st. Thanks for looking!!

GM recalls Chevy Impala, Cadillac XTS for braking problem
Sun, 21 Sep 2014Back in April, General Motors launched an investigation into braking issues affecting the 2014 Chevy Impala. Now there's a recall of both the Impala and the Cadillac XTS with which it shares its Epsilon II platform.
The issue apparently revolves around the electronic parking brake, which may not properly disengage. As a result, the rear brake pads could rub the rotor even while the vehicle is in motion, causing "significant heat, smoke and sparks." The earlier investigation had been launched following a complaint regarding the forward collision avoidance system, which is now either appears to have been unrelated or possibly a symptom of this larger issue.
The recall affects 2013-15 XTS models manufactured between February 14, 2012, and August 22, 2014, as well as 2014-15 Impalas manufactured between January 15, 2013, and August 22, 2014. The total number of affected vehicles reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration comes to precisely 132,921 units, while The Detroit News reports a higher total of 205,000 units - the difference potentially coming down to the scope within the US and more broadly across North America. Dealers will contact owners to update the software in order to fix the problem.
40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax
Thu, 24 Jul 2014
The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-in Hybrid is the most efficient and torquey CT6 of all
Tue, Nov 15 2016Cadillac is returning to the hybrid game after discontinuing the ill-fated ELR, this time with an existing car and a new drivetrain. The company has taken its CT6 flagship and given it a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a pair of motors, and a big battery pack. The result of this combination is a CT6 that manages a rating of 65 MPGe, can go 30 miles on a full electric charge or 400 miles combined with the engine. The powertrain produces 335 horsepower and 432 lb-ft of torque. That's the same amount of power as the 3.6-liter V6 CT6, and more torque than that engine or the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6. Cadillac claims the CT6 plug-in is capable of hitting 60 miles per hour in 5.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 150 mph. The green and grunty CT6 plug-in will be available this coming spring, and it will have a premium price of $76,090. Cadillac says that its equipment list is comparable to the CT6 Premium Luxury trim level, which starts at $64,590 with the 3.6-liter V6, and $68,590 with the twin-turbo V6. However, in addition to the hybrid powertrain, Cadillac throws in a number of features that are options on the conventional gasoline models. To get the hybrid's rear seat infotainment system and enhanced night vision, a buyer would have to add $5,800 in option packages. That still leaves the twin-turbo model $1,700 shy of the hybrid, but that's not a terrible trade for the option of fuel-free driving for at least some of the time.
