1964 Cadillac Sedan Deville, Black Plate, California Car, Garaged, No Reserve on 2040-cars
Oakland, California, United States
Another gem from a large Cadillac collection. Selling this 1964 Cadillac Sedan Deville. The Caddy has been repainted once it's original color. The interior looks good as does the door panels. The headliner is not sagging. The chrome looks good. It was garaged and the estate believes the miles to be correct. However, there is no documentation to substantiate their claim. It does drive and run good. The Caddy fires up and the big V8 comes to a roar. What more can you ask for?? If you have been looking for a vintage Caddy selling for NO RESERVE, then this is your Caddy. You can drive this gem to the local cruise night and bask in the admiring stares of young and old alike. The glass is all intact, the seats and door panels look original. It has "Black California" plates that will sell with the vehicle. I could go on and on about this Caddy but I will let the photos and videos speak for themselves.
With all my auctions, a few requirements. First, NO PAYPAL. Second, any and all bidders with less than 10 feedback, and/or negative feedback need to contact me prior to bidding with their full name and contact number or their bid will be cancelled and their user id blocked from additional bidding. Third, you are bidding to own, not look and make excuses. Once the auction is completed, you are the new owner. Any and all inspections welcome during the auction period, not after.
Also selling in AS-IS, Where-IS condition with NO WARRANTIES, expressed or implied. Seller has represented vehicle to the best of his knowledge and makes no warranties as to condition of vehicle. Please remember that this is a 50 year old vehicle and although looks good, is not showroom fresh nor a recent restoration.
So, with a great Caddy for the Daddy leap, let the auction begin. Vehicle is also advertised locally and seller reserves right to end the auction early and cancel all bids if vehicle is sold outside of ebay. Please feel free to email for a buy it now if you cannot wait until the end of the auction.

Cadillac moving to NY as separate business unit
Tue, 23 Sep 2014Cadillac is under new leadership, and the automaker is committed to turning itself (back) into a global luxury powerhouse. It's got a strong product offensive (of products currently in showrooms, and much more on the way), and now it will have a new location to call home.
Following earlier speculation, GM has confirmed that it is moving Cadillac's base of operations from Detroit to New York. Lest you think it might rent offices in the Chrysler Building (which is, after all, one of the tallest in the city), the new Cadillac global headquarters will be located in the Soho area with a "multipurpose brand and event space in conjunction with modern loft offices." The company is still evaluating which staff will move along with it to Manhattan, and which will remain in Michigan where technical operations will still be based.
The move from Detroit to New York is the first major change being instituted by new Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen, who previously undertook a similar shift in moving Infiniti away from Nissan headquarters to its own facility in Hong Kong. Ford had attempted a similar move in relocating its luxury portfolio under the Premier Automotive Group (which then included Lincoln, Mercury, Land Rover, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Volvo) from Dearborn to Irvine, CA, but ended up moving Lincoln (the last one still under the Ford umbrella) back to Michigan. Other luxury automakers like Audi (Volkswagen) and Maserati (Fiat) are headquartered away from their parent companies as well, but have a longer history of independent operation.
Dodge Dart falls short of Consumer Reports Recommended, Caddy XTS and Lincoln MKS, too
Thu, 22 Nov 2012The Dodge Dart, Cadillac XTS and Lincoln MKS all failed to earn a "Recommended" rating from Consumer Reports. When it came to the compact Dart, the organization's testers thought the vehicle offered a quiet cabin, solid-feeling chassis and nimble suspension, but the new model ultimately fell short of the coveted rating due to powertrain issues. The institute's reviewers found the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to be underpowered and noted "drivability issues" when the available turbocharged 1.4-liter four was paired with the optional dual-clutch transmission (some of our editors disliked it paired with the six-speed manual). CR also dinged the latter powerplant for sounding "raspy." For what it's worth, we think the forced-induction engine offers an excellent and playful exhaust note, but that's just us.
As for the XTS, CR lauded the car for its luxurious cabin, but the vehicle's experience was dulled by its finicky CUE infotainment interface. Overall, the big Cadillac scored much higher than its cross-town rival from Lincoln. While testers found the American luxury sedan to offer a quiet ride and quality fit and finish, they felt the MKS delivered a "cramped driving position, ungainly handling, uncomposed ride, and limited visibility." Ouch. At the end of the day, both cars fell short of rivals from Japan, Germany and Korea. Check out the full press release below with more details, along with CR's musings on the Chevrolet Spark and Lexus ES.
2017 Cadillac XT5 shows off its new metal in LA
Thu, Nov 19 2015Cadillac is in the midst of a comprehensive production overhaul, and few of its new arrivals will be as pivotal as the new XT5. Replacing the old SRX, the XT5 was revealed in the metal here on the floor of the 2015 LA Auto Show. Joining the new CT6 under Caddy's new naming scheme, the XT5 represents GM's assault on German competition like the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes GLC, Japanese rivals like the Lexus RX, Infiniti QX50, and Acura RDX, and its own cross-town nemesis, the Lincoln MKX. And to better fend off their advances, the new XT5 promises marked improvements over its predecessor in every way. The model you see here is, to our eyes, handsomer than the model it replaces, adopting the Art & Science brand's latest design cues. It offers a fresh cabin space loaded with the latest equipment. And it weighs a solid 278 pounds less than the outgoing SRX. Power still comes from a 3.6-liter V6, paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission with available all-wheel drive. 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque keep it going, which ought to help it keep pace with the competition. We're looking forward to seeing how it drives in due course, but in the meantime, you're invited to view our live photos from the floor of the Los Angeles Convention Center in the gallery above.
