I am offering this 1963 Cadillac Convertible that I purchased from a Classic Car aficionado in Washington State who had recently purchased it from an estate auction. This distinctive Cadillac has an extremely rare color combination that was in a nearly  40 year storage as it was taken off the road in 1975!!!!!!!It was stored  properly as the Floorboards, frame, trunk pan and rocker panels are original and have virtually NO RUST!

I have invested many thousands of dollars on this vehicles recent, extensive mechanical and body restoration,The mechanical restoration was performed by Rick Johnson Auto of Naples, spearheaded by Mike/Chris and their staff that had devoted many hours in the mechanical restoration with exemplary results.Precision Collision/ Bill Polidore of Naples performed an outstanding result with the body restoration and matched the original color perfectly

To showcase its most stunning features, including but not limited to:

·       New paint

·      New Leather Seats in the correct factory pattern!

·       New convertible top and tires, NOS cadillac floor mats!.

·       New Exhaust,Brakes,Fuel Pump,Battery,Plugs,Top motor,Wheel cylinders etc!

·       I personally flew out to California and selected and purchased most of the exterior chrome for this distinctive vehicle from a vintage Cadillac Salvage yard in the desert that specializes in Classic Cadillac’s.(the original chrome had dings and scuff marks)

·       The engine and drive train perform smoothly

·       The vintage power antennae and AM Radio works!! and this vehicle was per the build sheet constructed on 04/01/1963 has controlled differential(posi-traction) (a rarity in these old cars)

I have been in this hobby for over 45 years and attended hundreds of Car Shows and auctions and I have NEVER seen this color combination on any 1963 Cadillac Convertible !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a stunning classic cruiser that turns heads wherever it goes. It was one of the featured cars in the Naples Parade and drew an voluminous amount of attention due to its striking exterior and interior color combination.  I have repainted it in its original color scheme, ,Basildon Green which coordinates with the original two tone white/black interior.

The factory build sheet, owners manual, sales brochures, etc. are included with the purchase of the vehicle, and a clear Florida Title is in hand and will be transferred to the new owner immediately upon the receipt of payment in full.

This meticulously restored vehicle is by no means a "TRAILER QUEEN" and in my opinion is an excellent driver quality vehicle! The reserve price is reflective of its quality.

Paint code 32 Basildon Green

Trim code 20 White Leather

Top code    1 White

Arranging for an independent third-party inspection is a great way to validate a seller's claims about a vehicle's condition. There are many companies and individuals who offer such a service. Of course your personal inspection and scrutiny are suggested and most welcomed.

The seller has made a diligent effort to accurately describe this vehicle but does not expressly or implicitly guarantee the accuracy of the above description.

Cadillac ATS and CTS get blacked-out treatments

Tue, Mar 15 2016

Some still think of gallons of chrome when Cadillac comes to mind, and some of the automaker's models still take the blinged-out approach (we're looking at you, Escalade). But for those whose impression of the America luxury marque's is about more than brightwork, Caddy has announced a new Black Chrome package. Available for the ATS coupe, ATS sedan, and CTS sedan, the optional package, as you might have guessed, applies dark chrome to the outside of the vehicle. On the ATS, that includes the front grilles (upper and lower) and rear trim, as well as body-colored door handles, gloss black window moldings, and dark-finish 18-inch alloys. Buyers can choose to apply the package to the Luxury or Premium trim, with the 2.0-liter turbo or 3.6-liter V6, in rear- or all-wheel drive, with four exterior paint choices, any interior available, and in two- or four-door bodystyles. The package goes for $795 on the sedan and $595 for the coupe. The package costs a little more for the CTS but includes a bit less trim, limited to the grille and those same 18-inch alloys. It can still be paired to the 2.0 turbo or 3.6-liter V6 in rear- or all-wheel drive, with three exterior tints and a limited selection of interior treatments. Pricing here starts at $1,295 with the Luxury trim, or $1,095 in either Performance or Premium spec. Those looking for a shinier treatment, however, need not apply. Cadillac gives ATS, CTS new V6 for 2016

Sun, Oct 11 2015

Replacing the existing 3.6-liter V6 in the Cadillac ATS and CTS is... another 3.6-liter V6. But this one promises higher output, while consuming less fuel, and making less noise. Like the V8s in the CTS-V and Escalade, it's got cylinder-deactivation technology to cut it down to a four-pot under lighter loads, as well as automatic stop/start, and comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new engine produces 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque. That's a modest improvement over the 321 hp and 275 lb-ft mustered by the unit it replaces. But it also delivers an approximate improvement of nine percent in fuel economy and eight percent in carbon emissions. That's what we'd call a win-win, even if it's a modest one. Of course, those ATS or CTS buyers attracted to higher efficiency will still likely go for the 2.5-liter inline-four or the 2.0-liter turbo four. And those more inclined towards performance will be tempted by the 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 in the ATS-V or CTS Vsport – or the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 in the CTS-V, for that matter. But those customers looking for the best of both worlds will surely be pleased by the improvements the new atmospheric V6 and 8-speed gearbox bring to the table. Now as 2016 model year production begins, Cadillac adds new fuel-saving technologies. Active Fuel Management and Automatic Stop/Start technologies, and widespread use of a new 8-speed transmission, are combining to raise fuel economy ratings and reduce emissions in Cadillac's portfolio. Cadillac's all-new six cylinder engine contains Active Fuel Management, or cylinder deactivation, technology enabling it to seamlessly switch from six-cylinder to four-cylinder operation under certain light-load conditions, while maintaining excellent performance. The new 3.6-liter engine is part of the 2016 ATS and CTS product lines. Additionally, the Cadillac Escalade luxury SUV's V8 will shift to four-cylinder operation in many daily driving conditions, as will Cadillac's all-new high performance CTS-V sedan.

Junkyard Gem: 1997 Cadillac Catera

Sun, Jun 16 2024

GM's Cadillac Division was having a tough time in the early 1990s, with an onslaught of Lexuses and Infinitis pouring across the Pacific to steal their younger customers while high-end German manufacturers picked off their older customers. Flying an S-Class-priced model between assembly lines in Turin and Hamtramck hadn't worked out, so why not look to the European outposts of the far-flung GM Empire for the next Cadillac? That's how the Catera was born, and I have found a rare first-year example in a North Carolina car graveyard. Across the Atlantic, GM's Opel and Vauxhall were doing good business with prosperous European car buyers by selling them the sleek rear-wheel-drive Omega B (whose platform also lived beneath the Holden VT Commodore in Australia). Here was a genuine German design that competed with success against BMW and Audi on their home turf! So, the Omega B was Americanized and renamed the Catera. Opel wasn't a completely unknown brand to Americans at the time, since its cars were sold here with their own badging through Buick dealerships from the middle 1950s through the late 1970s (for a much shorter period, American Pontiac dealers attempted to sell Vauxhalls). Even after that, plenty of Opel DNA showed up in the products of U.S.-market GM divisions. The Catera was by far the most affordable Cadillac for 1997, with an MSRP starting at $29,995 (about $59,113 in 2024 dollars). Being a genuine German car, it looked much more convincingly European than the DeVille ($36,995), Eldorado ($37,995) and Seville ($39,995). Inspired by the ducks on the Cadillac emblem (they were really supposed to be martlets, mythical birds with no feet and occasionally lacking beaks), Cadillac's marketers went after youthful car shoppers with a whimsical animated duck named Ziggy. For the 21st century, the birds were removed from the Cadillac emblem in order to attract California buyers under 45 years of age. As we all know, the Catera flopped hard in the marketplace. What sold well in Europe turned out not to translate so well in in North America, especially when bearing the badges of such a historically prestigious brand. The Catera's engine was a 54-degree 3.0-liter V6 rated at 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet. Just as had been the case with its predecessor, the Allante, no manual transmission was available.
