Vehicle came out of Nebraska. Previous owner had done an older body-on restoration on the vehicle sometime in the early to mid 1990s. Recently it has received a NEW convertible top, pads, cables etc. as well as a recent set of big whitewall tires. This is a nearly RUST-FREE CAR that is turn-key and ready to drive anywhere.
OPTIONS:
Power steering
Power brakes
Air Conditioning
Power convertible top
Power adjustable bench seat
390ci V8 motor
Automatic transmission on column
Whitewall tires
Under the hood lies a virtually all stock and unmodified 390ci motor. Meticulously serviced throughout its life. Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great along with the nice and throaty stock exhaust system. Transmission is solid and shifts good without any noises or grinding. I drive the car about once every other week for short trips around down or every once in a while I'll take it to a cruise night on the highway. It has never let me down and always performs great.
Interior is basically all stock and was COMPLETELY REDONE during the older restoration. Door panels in excellent shape. Dash is very clean. Seats in excellent shape throughout with only minor wear and a couple of small "pinch" rips by bottom of driver's side. Carpet is presentable but a little loose and could use replacing. Convertible top is in nearly new condition with brand new rear window. Overall beautifully presentable for a high end driver.
Underside has a SOLID frame with NO rot or major rust anywhere that I was able to see. Floors appear very nice as well, and may have had a couple of small patches in the past. Trunk pan looks very good with NO holes or rot.
The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is in VERY GOOD shape throughout, and although it looks fairly good with plenty of shine, it has various small imperfections here and there as you would expect from a car being driven. Hood could use minor alignment adjustment as it sits a bit high in the back. Not working: radio, horn, a/c (all there and hooked up, just needs servicing), may need a bulb or two replaced here and there where needed. Missing: spare/jack, top boot, front hood crest, glove box lock & key, may be missing a couple of small trim pieces here and there. Convertible top works up and down fine, but slow (most likely needs hydraulic fluid fill-up). Brakes work fine, but car may need a wheel cylinder or two replaced as it leans to the right when braking hard. Small exhaust leak. Driver's side window switch works on/off (needs contacts cleaned, I was able to make the windows work from driver's side after cleaning contacts). Bumpers have a couple of dents here and there.
So overall she is not perfect and will need some form of very minor TLC and/or tinkering depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 50 years old so keep that in mind.
If you just want a GREAT LOOKING TURN-KEY DRIVER then this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some work to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

Cadillac HQ has a New York address
Sun, 16 Nov 2014The new home of Cadillac will be in the 330 Hudson building in New York City's Hudson Square, putting the luxury marque smack dab in the middle of three of the city's hippest areas, SoHo, Greenwich Village and Tribeca.
The announcement is yet another milestone in the company's controversial decision to relocate administrative and marketing operations away from Detroit and into the Big Apple.
"The addition of a headquarters office in New York is a key step in Cadillac's ongoing global expansion," Cadillac boss Johan de Nysschen said, according to The Detroit Free Press. "There is no better atmosphere in which to better immerse ourselves into luxury consumer and brand expertise."
2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe
Thu, 30 Oct 2014Cadillac has become a very, very different company since the dawn of the new millenium. Its turn-of-the-century lineup, consisting of staid offerings like the Seville, DeVille and Eldorado, represented the Old Cadillac. These cars were plagued with Old GM quality issues and catered to a more elderly audience. Since the company's Art and Science design language arrived, though, we've seen Cadillac flesh out its lineup in a big way, introducing notable and (so far) enduring products, like the the CTS, SRX and most recently, the ATS.
With the CTS tackling the 5 Series segment and the SRX duking it out with the Lexus RX and its classmates, the ATS has been left with the tough task of battling the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, among others. Critically, at least, it has excelled in this role, but it's still working on finding its feet sales-wise. On paper, broadening the model range by adding a two-door personal luxury coupe could help.
After a week with the ATS Coupe, though, we've found a car that, while retaining the standard model's excellent driving character, doesn't quite offer enough visual excitement to stand up to other cars in its segment.
Combine a self-driving car with V2V, and here's what happens
Sat, Dec 12 2015Transportation engineers have started laying the groundwork for a traffic world in which cars communicate with other cars and infrastructure like bridges and traffic lights. How about an environment in which cars talk to pretty much everything and everyone? In a preview of its offerings at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show, Delphi Automotive will deploy just such a concept. Engineers have designed a system that communicates with traffic signals, street signs, pedestrians, cyclists, even to fry pits and parking garages along a driver's route. To date, engineers and researchers across the auto industry have focused on the technical and safety-oriented foundation of future vehicle-to-vehicle communications, which could help cars share information about everything from traffic tie-ups to upcoming road hazards. Beyond those building blocks, many have projected that V2V could also include more consumer-focused features. Delphi's system, dubbed V2Everything, might be the first that combines those sorts of features in a tangible package. At CES in Las Vegas, scheduled to begin the first week of January, company officials say they'll demonstrate in real-world conditions how V2V technology can be used in an autonomous vehicle to provide a range of critical safety information and leisure and convenience options for riders. The first V2V technology installed on a production car is slated to appear on the 2017 Cadillac CTS. "We imagine a world with zero traffic accidents," said Jeff Owens, Delphi's chief technology officer. "To get there, we will need a convergence of active safety, sensor fusion, connectivity platforms and advanced software." Such software might allow a vehicle to start searching for and reserving parking spots at a programmed destination long before arriving. It could allow riders to place their McDonald's drive-through order from the road and have the food ready for pickup along the route. For the drive itself, the Delphi-equipped car can stay updated on the status of traffic lights around Las Vegas, and can anticipate yellow and red lights. Using smart-phone technology, the car can detect pedestrians and cyclists that may otherwise be hard to see. It can send messages to friends or family to notify them of a driver's location. Some of those features have been available on third-party apps or individually developed by automakers. But this system marries them together in a single system that is tailored for use in self-driving cars.
