1961 Cadillac Coupe Deville No Reserve Hot Rod Rat Rod Custom Sled Hardtop on 2040-cars
Peru, Illinois, United States
This is a no reserve auction for a 1961 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. This is one of those hard to find coupes that make great customs or also look perfect stock. What we have here is a good solid car with all the options you get when you buy a Coupe Deville. When I got the car the motor was out of it and apart. I located another motor for the car that was just rebuilt, purchased it and put it in the car. The motor runs great just like it should for just being rebuilt. I still have the original motor for the car if you are interested in that too. The odometer says it has 73,xxx miles on it and from the condition of the car overall I would say it is correct. Everything on the car works except for the Dash lights, Radio & antenna, Blower motor, Fuel guage and Power seat. It has a little rust here and there but nothing major. The car is at the point where someone can take it to the next level or drive it just like it is. The car runs and drives good. I have some other projects in need of finishing so this is your opportunity to own a great Cadillac for a reasonable price considering the condition and all the new parts.
Here is a list of items that are new: Engine ( fresh rebuild ) Fuel pump - flushed fuel tank and lines Radiator hoses and belts Master cylinder and flushed out brake system Tires Generator, regulator & battery Dual exhaust system OPG carpet ( not installed ) Trunk seal Thermostat Windshield wipers Transmission front and rear seals, cooler lines & carrier bearing Please call Joe with any questions at 815-252-3853 More pictures - http://s265.photobucket.com/user/silamanajik/slideshow/1961%20caddy |

Petrolicious eats up Rita Hayworth's 1953 Cadillac Ghia
Wed, Feb 11 2015The automotive industry has seem some wonderful transoceanic collaborations between America and Italy, from the Ford-powered De Tomasos of the 1960s to the alliance between Fiat and Chrysler today. Of course it's also seen unfortunate experiments in between like the Chrysler TC by Maserati and the Pininfarina-bodied Cadillac Allante. But before any of those, there was a beautiful tradition of rebodying American steel at the hands of Italian carrozzerie. And this could easily be among the most gorgeous of them all. It's a Cadillac Series 62 from 1953 with bodywork by Ghia. It's one of only two made, and has a star-studded history. The car was purchased by Aly Khan, prince of the Nizari Ismaili muslims and Pakistan's ambassador to the United Nations, for his wife... who just so happened to be the inimitable Rita Hayworth. They split up, but she held on to the car. Today it's part of the permanent collection at the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA, so the videographical artisans at Petrolicious went by to check it out. You'll want to as well in the five-minute short above.
Cadillac to vie for Secret Service armored car contract, new Beast?
Wed, 03 Jul 2013President Obama has used the same armored limo since his inauguration in 2008. Known by many as The Beast, the Presidential Limo was provided by Cadillac and earned its nickname in large part because of its massive size, which isn't surprising considering that its Caddy-shaped bodywork is said to sit atop a heavy-duty truck chassis.
It seems the Secret Service may be in the market for a Beast replacement, having issued a request for proposals for a new armored limo. According to Motor Trend, Obama's backup limo is a leftover from the Bush Administration, so it will be interesting to see if this new machine will serve as a replacement for The Beast or for its backup. The contract is to be awarded by September 29, 2013.
The boys from MT contacted Cadillac, Lincoln and Chrysler, and Chrysler is the only one that would confirm that it is not pursuing the contract. Cadillac may have the inside track, as it has provided Presidential limos since 1993, but Lincoln also has a long and storied history of chauffeuring the President.
2016 Cadillac CTS-V prepares to kick ass, take names
Tue, Jan 13 2015Some stories write themselves. This post on the North American International Auto Show debut of the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is one of them. This 200-mile-per-hour sedan pilfers the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 from the Chevy Corvette Z06, and puts it to the same tire-devastating effect, offering up 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic – please join us in a moment of silence for the dearly departed manual CTS-V – then dispatches the force-induced thrust to a very large, sticky set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. To ensure the CTS-V can tear your face off with lateral Gs as well as accelerative Gs, Cadillac stiffened the car's structure by 25 percent, fitted magnetic ride control and fitted the aforementioned tires. Beyond the mechanicals, a substantial rear spoiler, front splitter and diffuser improve grip through aerodynamics. Keeping drivers pinned during all this tire shredding and face tearing is the task of meaty, two-piece Recaro sport seats, which are found in a luxuriously appointed cabin, complete with 4G LTE connectivity, a Bose stereo and Siri Eyes Free. There's even a Performance Data Recorder, which will be on hand to record your miscues if (or perhaps when) the car's extreme abilities outpace your own talents. Take a look at our array of live images from the CTS-V's official debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.
