HERE YOU HAVE A 1960 CADILLAC SEDAN DEVILLE FLAT TOP SERIES 6200 4 WINDOW FLAT TOP IN REASONABLE CONDITION. I BOUGHT THE CAR BACK IN MARCH 1989 WITH THE INTENT TO DRIVE IT TO MY 50TH HIGH SCHOOL REUNION AND AS A FORMER GM PARTS MANAGER HAD ACCESS TO LOT'S OF OEM PARTS SO THE MAJORITY OF ITEMS ARE NOT REPRODUCTION BUT ORIGINAL. IT HAS A RUNNING 390 ENGINE THAT HAS BEEN REBUILT ALONG WITH A HYDROMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT HAS BEEN ONLY RESEALED SINCE IT SHIFTS AND OPERATES PERFECTLY. CAR HAS FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING,POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES AS MOST OF THE CADILLAC'S DID BACK IN THE SIXTIES. THE A M RADIO WORKS AS DOES THE ELECTRIC ANTENNA AND CLOCK. BRAKES ARE NEW AS WELL AS ALL THE WHEEL CYLINDERS MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE LINE HOSES. HAS NEW WINDSHIELD AND NEW FRONT DOOR GLASS. WEATHERSTRIPS THROUGHOUT HAVE BEEN PURCHASED AND WHAT HAS NOT BEEN INSTALLED GOES WITH THE PURCHASE. INTERIOR WAS REDONE A FEW YEARS AGO NOT ORIGINAL BUT IN A NICE VELOUR MATERIAL THAT MATCHES UP WELL WITH THE RED TRIM AND IT ALSO HAS A NEW PREFORMED CARPET ASSEMBLY. DASH GAUGES WORK BUT TEMP GAGE IS HIT OR MISS OPERATION. CAR IS MOSTLY STRAIGHT AND ALL MOLDINGS ARE THERE AND IN DECENT CONDITION  GAS TANK HAS BEEN HOT BOILED AND SEALED AND FUEL GAGE WORKS AT TIMES. I HAVE PLENTY OF EXTRA PARTS THAT GO WITH CAR FOR EXAMPLE MOLDINGS,DASH PAD,WHEEL COVERS AND MORE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SAN DIEGO AREA FOR THE LAST 25 YEARS PLUS GARAGED WITH A CAR COVER.  I WORKED ON IT TRYING TO GET IT BACK TO ITS FORMER GLORY AS A LABOR OF LOVE BUT ALAS TIME HAS CAUGHT UP TO ME AND ITS TIME TO CUT IT LOOSE. BODY IS STRAIGHT,NOT LAZER PERFECT AND THE CAR HAS BEEN PAINTED ONCE IN WHITE WHICH WAS THE NOT ORIGINAL SHADE. IT IS NOT A SHOW CAR BY ANY MEANS BUT WOULD BE A NICE SUNDAY CRUISER,IMAGINE PACKING UP THE ENTIRE FAMILY AND I MEAN THE ENTIRE FAMILY AND DRIVING IT AROUND. IT WILL NEED SOME TIRES SINCE THESE HAVE SEEN BETTER DAYS. STUDY THE PICTURES WELL.  THIS IS NOT A RUSTY SHELL THAT WILL NEED TO BE REBUILT FROM THE GROUND UP,IT JUST NEEDS SOMEONE TO TAKE TO COMPLETION. PLEASE CALL ME FOR MORE INFORMATION JOHN AT 619-647-3504 CELL RESERVE SET PRICE IS REASONABLE FOR CAR IN THIS CONDITION. PLEASE SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY. NO TRADES.

Cadillac ELR getting massive discounts, some up to $14,000

Mon, Jul 14 2014

Well, that didn't go as planned. General Motors had marketed the Cadillac ELR extended-range plug-in as a premium version of the Chevrolet Volt with some Caddy refinements. Now, it looks like that premium, at least from a price standpoint, is shrinking. Shoppers in a number of states are reporting that GM and its dealers are discounting the ELR in order to move more off dealer lots. The issue is that few people are biting at the official price tag of about $76,000, so GM has started offering as much as $8,000 worth of dealer and customer incentives, Transport Evolved reports. More recently, dealers in states such as Florida, Texas and Maryland are offering discounts in the $12,000-to-$14,000 range, and that's before any federal and state plug-in incentives kick in. It's not difficult to guess why. Through the first half of the year, GM sold fewer than 400 ELRs. Last month, Caddy moved just 97 units, or about as many as Tesla sells of its Model S in a day. Perpahs recent spy shots that reveal a test ELR that appears to up the sportiness quotient, with touches such as larger wheels and brakes, will also help sales. Check out Autoblog's "First Drive" impressions of the ELR here.

2016 Cadillac CT6 shows crisp sense of style in leaked images

Tue, Mar 31 2015

You're looking at the 2016 Cadillac CT6, aided by the almost inevitable internet-aided leak, ahead of its debut at the New York Auto Show this week. As you can see, the overall shape is straight-edged and aggressive, and overall in keeping with what we've seen from Cadillac over the last several years. High-tech lighting clusters extend from the fender peaks all the way down in what appear to be LED strips toward the lower fascia and its rectangular fog lights. A suitably massive grille encrusted in chrome boasts one of the larger Wreath and Crest badges we've ever witnessed on a car. Under that sharply creased hood will sit a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine with 400 horsepower at its disposal, according to Cadillac, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. A naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 will also be available, we're told. We may wish for an edgier range-topping sedan from Cadillac, but it's not really fair to draw any real conclusions from just one leaked image. In other words, stay tuned, 'cause the rest of the story won't be far behind.

Recharge Wrap-up: Free chargers for Canadian ELR buyers, Renovo gets funding for EV supercar

Chevrolet offers versions of its Express passenger van with B20 biodiesel and E85 capability. Customers can buy the van with the Duramax turbodiesel V8, which is compatible with the 20-percent biodiesel blend. There is also a FlexFuel V8, which can use the 85-percent ethanol gasoline blend. It's a great option for shuttling the whole soccer team to practice using renewable fuels. Read more at Domestic Fuels. Early buyers of the Cadillac ELR in Canada will get a 240-volt charger installed at their home for free. It should help convince some buyers to adopt the range extended luxury EV. Cadillac's Chief Marketing Officer Uwe Ellinghaus says, "Professional installation of the fastest home-charging unit is a natural way to mark the introduction of ELR to the luxury market." Read more in the press release below. Renovo has received venture capital funding from California-based True Ventures to build its Coupe electric supercar. The impressive EV, with its 500 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque, is an inspiring vehicle built by a promising company, according to its financial backers. Toni Schneider of True Ventures says that Renovo has "created incredibly advanced technology and a beautiful machine that is well positioned to disrupt the automotive market." Read more in the press release below. Renault says it will build its Fluence ZE electric car in China for an unnamed brand, pending government approval. Chief Executive Carlos Ghosn announced the plan at a test drive event in France on Monday. Renault has a partnership with Dongfeng Motors to build and sell its cars in China. Read more at Reuters. Germany has lifted its ban on Uber. While the German court believes the ride-hailing service is operating illegally without proper licensing for drivers, it says Taxi Deutschland waited too long to file the case against Uber. The taxi association plans to appeal the decision soon. See more in the video below, and read more at The New York Times. A new report from UC Davis claims that a global expansion of public transit could save 1,700 megatons of carbon dioxide yearly and over $100 trillion by 2050. A "high-shift scenario" would be necessary, wherein governments invest in rail and clean buses, expand biking and walking infrastructure and shift focus away from projects that encourage car use. This shift to public transit would especially be important in the US, China and India. Read more in the press release below.
