1959 Cadillac DeVille 2 Door Hardtop #D109/AC138. Clear Title & Keys VIN#59J052135. This car has been in storage for over 25 years. Car does not Start/Run. Engine will turn over.  Do Not Know Condition of Drive Line. Rolls, No Brakes. 86597 Showing on Odometer. V8, Automatic, A/C, Power Steering/Brakes, Seats, Windows. Radio,  and Skirts. 4 Hub Caps. Remote Driver Side Sideview Mirror.  Very Nice Original Car in Good Condition. Original paint in fair/good condition.  Looks like possible re-paint on passenger side front fender and door.  Some scratched on Trunk Lid.  Signs of rust in bottoms of both front fenders.  Rust under front edge of hood.  See all 24 pictures.  Solid Floors.  Rockers and Quarters look OK.  No visible signs of body damage, normal nicks and dings.  The Chrome is in Very Good condition given the age and mileage.   All Glass is good.  Missing Cadillac Emblem of front edge of passenger fender.  1992 was last oil change sticker. Straight Body. Very Nice Interior given the year and miles.  Nice Headliner and Dash.  Dash Pad is not cracked.  Car can be picked-up in St. Louis County, MO. 63123. Cadillac to move select offices from Detroit to Manhattan?

Under Johan de Nysschen, Infiniti moved its headquarters from Yokohama, Japan, to Hong Kong. Now at Cadillac, it appears the company's new president could be planning a relocation of at least some of the brand's operations from Detroit to Manhattan, according to a new report from Reuters.
In the case of Infiniti, de Nysschen pushed for the move because moving away from the brand's Nissan overlords would allow it a bit more freedom. It's evidently a similar case for Cadillac, with Reuters speculating that such a move would help distance the brand from the corporate culture in Detroit. A Big Apple move could also attract new talent that may have considered a job with the brand but were put off by the idea of living in Detroit.
It's important to note that if such a move takes place, it likely won't affect the folks actually responsible for developing the brand's vehicles. Instead, administrative functions, including marketing, could be the focus of the relocation.

J.D. Power customer survey of dealers counts Cadillac, Buick as big winners

Cadillac and Buick have taken the trophies in J.D. Power's latest Customer Service Index Study examining satisfaction with dealer service. Surveying more than 90,000 owners and lessees of 2009-2013 model-year cars, the study found that those with pre-paid maintenance packages were ten percent more likely to buy their next car from the same brand.
Dealer satisfaction scores have improved overall, Cadillac nabbed the luxury segment ahead of Audi and Lexus, taking the crown that Lexus held last year. Buick keeps the mass-market dealer satisfaction win in the family, finishing ahead of Volkswagen and last year's winner GMC. The study also found that service department use of tablets increased customer satisfaction, as did "best practices" like "providing helpful advice." Who knew?

General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
