1998 Cadillac Catera, 4 Door Hardtop, New Rotors Still In Box, New Wheels. on 2040-cars
Williamsport, Maryland, United States
Hello and
welcome to the auction. You are bidding on a running and driving 1997
Cadillac Catera with a clean Maryland title. I am selling this car as it
has sat un-driven for quite some time. It has been started and idled ,
just not driven. My original plans was to make this a project car but I
have simply gotten to busy with work and to many other things to do, so I
am selling this car.
Known issues with car: It has sat in the sun uncovered and now needs paint work, needs a radio and new door speakers with grills. Please note the one pic shows a short piece of missing trim between the drivers side rear quarter and bottom of roof line. This piece of trim came off in a car wash and will need replced. Car has a slight miss while idling this is likely either a spark plug or coil pack , I have not checked to see which if either. Car has a solid body , good engine and tranny. Has new euro headlights that need wired up, just a few wires to connect. Buyer will also get the four new 17" wheels as pictured that fit this car. The car currently has 16" wheels and tires, so buyer will have to obtain 17" tires to fit the new wheels. Buyer also get new brake rotors that are currently still in their boxes in cars trunk. As noted I simply have to many projects and to much to do so I am selling this car as is where is, cheap. Since this is a used car it is sold as is no warranties implied or given. The description is a honest assesment of the car and the winning bidder is going to get a great deal at a cheap price. Buyer is responsible for pickup of car which can either be picked up in person or by truck. Car does run so it can be driven onto a car hauler if needed. Please ask any questions prior to bidding and I will do my best to answer. On a side note about two years ago just before I stopped driving this car I paid the local cadillac garage $1800 to go over the engine and seal up any oil drips. Current Odometer Reading on this car is 90,124 Payment is to be cash or a personal check. Please note if paying by personal check a 7 day check clearing period applies before car can be released for pickup. I will also accept PayPal bank transfer on this auction for the initial deposit. GM adds 1,200 jobs at Detroit-Hamtramck plant
Thu, Oct 22 2015General Motors is making a big move at its Hamtramck, MI, factory, announcing it will add a second shift and hire over 1,200 workers within the next several months. It's expected that by early 2016, the factory will employ over 2,800 workers to build the Chevrolet Volt, Impala, Malibu, Cadillac ELR, and by early next year, the new CT6. According to GM Hamtramck spokesperson Courtney Zemke, 40 of the 1,200 positions are for salaried employees, while the remainder will be hourly positions. As for where these employees will go, positions are being made available across the factory, so GM isn't focusing on any particular area for its new hires. It's a similar story behind the hiring surge itself. GM said in its press release that the "second shift is necessary to meet forecasted market demand," a position Zemke reiterated. It's a matter of demand across the plant's portfolio, rather than any one particular product seriously outstripping supply. Naturally, the United Auto Workers is happy with the move. "The workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck is second to none," UAW Local 22 Shop Chairman Don LaForest said in the attached release. "We appreciate the opportunity to expand our UAW-GM family." Hiring is going on now, with the second shift slated to get underway in early 2016. GM's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly to Add Second Shift and More Than 1,200 Jobs Plant will nearly double its workforce by early 2016 2015-10-22 DETROIT – General Motors is nearly doubling its workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly by adding a second shift and more than 1,200 hourly and salaried jobs. The addition of a second shift will increase the plant's workforce to approximately 2,800 people when hiring is completed. The second shift is necessary to meet forecasted market demand for the five cars produced at Detroit-Hamtramck. "This is the result of the award-winning vehicles Detroit-Hamtramck produces and the confidence GM has in our team to build world-class quality for our customers," said Plant Manager Gary West. Second shift hiring is underway, and the shift is scheduled to begin operations in early 2016. "The workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck is second to none," said UAW Local 22 Shop Chairman Don LaForest. "We appreciate the opportunity to expand our UAW-GM family." The 4.1 million-square-foot Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly opened in 1985. GM has invested $1 billion in the plant over the last six years, making it one of the company's most-agile manufacturing facilities in North America.
J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998
Wed, 12 Feb 2014For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
Cadillac cancels sponsorship of Trump's PGA event
Thu, Jun 2 2016Cadillac has ended its sponsorship of the PGA's World Golf Championship, which has incited a response from Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. Without the automaker's money to run the event at a property owned by Trump in Miami, the PGA announced it will move the WGC to Mexico City. Trump responded by saying, "Cadillac's been a great sponsor, but they're moving it to Mexico. They're moving it to Mexico City which, by the way, I hope they have kidnapping insurance. They're moving it to Mexico City. And I'm saying, you know, what's going on here? It is so sad when you look at what's going on with our country." In 2010, the PGA announced a multi-year deal with Cadillac to sponsor the WGC, starting in 2011. Since 2007, the event has been held at what is now known as the Trump National Doral Miami location. Trump took ownership of the property in 2012. Cadillac issued a statement to Autoblog that says: "We are proud to have been the title sponsor of the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship since 2011. We have made the decision, however, not to extend our sponsorship beyond this year. We thank the PGA TOUR for a great six years with the Cadillac Championship."
