2005 Cadillac Cts-v With An 8.8 Rear End on 2040-cars
Springfield, Missouri, United States
Listed for sale is a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V, this car has
81,237 miles on it, 14,000 of which I put on myself. I bought this car in March 2010, which means
I have put less than 4,000 miles on this car a year for the last 4 years. This car is in great shape for being a 9 year
old car, I won’t promise its perfect, but it is in great shape for its age. The one thing I will mention is the plastic
piece around where you put the key in the ignition is damaged, but it does not
cause any issues with starting the car or anything like that. When I had issues with the stock heads, I had
the entire bottom end rebuilt as well, everything cleaned, honed, and new
bearings put in as well. This was all done
about 2000 miles ago. The car was tuned
by Sho Me Speed in Ozark Mo, and put down 408.20 WHP, and 372.69 ft lb of torque on a DynoJet dyno. There has been
over $10,000 put into this car, parts alone.
Anyone that has looked into CTS-V’s in the past know they have a
horribly weak rear end, and when the differential blows it costs $1600, just
for the replacement differential. That
is the reason I got the new 8.8 rear put into the car, this rear can take a lot
higher power levels then the stock rear, and since it’s an 8.8 there are a lot
of options for replacement differentials if anything were to ever go wrong,
which I doubt will happen. The rear end costs over $5,000 installed, and seem
to have corrected the wheel hop issue this car is known for with the stock rear
end. I have only launched it a few times
since the rear was installed but it did not wheel hop at all when launched with
the new rear. I have never taken this
car to the strip to see what it could do in 1/4 mile.
Listed below are the parts I have added to the car over the last several years: · Creative Steel 8.8 inch rear end (includes new 2 piece driveshaft, differential, and anti-hop axles as well) · Texas Speed & Performance Camshaft: 233/239, .595/.603, 112 LSA · Patriot Stage 2 Heads, with all the appropriate hardware in them. · Kooks Longtubes and full exhaust all the way back. · High Volume Oil Pump · LS7 Clutch and Slave Cylinder · Extreme Composites Powerdome Hood with Vents · Upgraded Timing Chain · Creative Steel Motor Mounts · K&N Cold Air Intake · UUC Short Shifter · Linea Corse Veneto Hyper Black Wheels, Front 19x8.5, Rear 19x10 (6x115/+40F+47R) · Nitto NT05 Tires, Front 245/40ZR19 XL, Rear 275/35ZR19 XL (rear has less than 2000 miles on them) · Stock CTS arm rest (it’s higher than the stock CTS-V arm rest, and more comfortable. I have the stock CTS-V armrest as well that I will give to the buyer in case you prefer that one.) · Custom Mounted 10 inch Pioneer sub and amp. · Kenwood head unit with Navigation, as I hated the stock stereo system, sounded absolutely horrible. · Optima Red Top Battery · Autopage alarm/remote start (remote start will be disabled, but I will show the new owner how to correct it if they choose.) One other thing I will mention is this car sounds really good. Everywhere I go I have people giving me thumbs up, or in the drive thru I get a "I've never heard a Cadillac sound like that before, it sounds really good" I even had a guy at a stop light behind me with his phone out the window trying to record the sound one day. If you need anything or have any other questions feel free to ask, and I'll do my best to answer your questions. This car has been driven by a NON-SMOKER, I've never let anyone smoke in or near this car. |

2016 Cadillac CT6 has arrived
Wed, Apr 1 2015We have known for a while that the 2015 New York Auto Show would mark the debut of Cadillac's latest flagship model. But after months of waiting as Caddy slowly revealed details, the 2016 Cadillac CT6 has finally arrived. The sedan is a technological tour de force for the brand and inaugurates a long list of new technologies. The CT6 will begin production at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant in late 2015 and will go on sale with three engine options. Caddy won't release final figures yet, but based on preliminary numbers, we know the base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will make 265 horsepower. Stepping up to the newly revised 3.6-liter V6 will net buyers an estimated 335 hp, and finally there will be the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with an output of around 400 hp. All of these engines will be mated to eight-speed automatic transmissions, and six-cylinder models will get standard all-wheel drive that will be able to constantly vary the power sent to the front wheels. Carrying those powertrains is the new, aluminum-intensive Omega architecture. In addition to the lightweight metal making up the platform, the entire exterior also uses it to provide an estimated curb weight of less than 3,700 pounds. The decision to shed mass makes the CT6 a featherweight in its class – for comparison, the lightest, six-cylinder Audi A8 weighs 4,365 pounds. The sedan rides on a 122.4-inch wheelbase and is 204 inches long. That makes the Cadillac about 1.3 inches shorter than the smallest BMW 7 Series, but the Caddy is projected to tip the scales at less than both the big Bimmer and even the 5 Series, too. Cadillac wants the CT6 to be a luxury sedan that drivers can enjoy. In addition to the low weight, there's an available Active Chassis System throughout the range with rear-wheel steering and Magnetic Ride Control. When combined with the all-wheel-drive system, it means every corner of the car is both driving and steering the vehicle. Inside, the CT6 offers a ton of tech and luxury. Drivers are held in massaging, leather seats, and rear passengers also get adjustable chairs that are heated and cooled. Quad-zone climate controls keep everyone comfortable. Plus, in addition to the 34-speaker Bose audio system and streaming rearview mirror, there are features like a 10.2-inch CUE infotainment system with a capacitive touchscreen and console-mounted touchpad. The display also shows a 360-degree view outside and can even record video when the security system is activated.
Brock Lesnar does M. Bison impression on Cadillac CTS
Fri, Jul 10 2015There's no doubt that a huge amount of physicality is required to survive night after night in the ring as a professional wrestler. Conversely, the storylines that tie all the action together are as staged as any soap opera. However, there's nothing fake about watching two axes being embedded in a Cadillac CTS by WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar. Lesnar's prodigious brawn was really putting this luxury sedan out of its misery, though. With matte black stripes on the hood, fake fender vents, camouflage along the side, and a decal proclaiming "Redneck" on the windshield, this particular Cadillac was far from the standard of the world. In favor of the CTS' build quality, Lesnar's hatchets didn't immediately do quite as much damage as you might expect, and he had to take several swings to achieve the destruction here. If you think that destroying a sedan one piece at a time sounds like something from a video game, you aren't alone. Someone else noticed a definite similarity to the bonus round from Street Fighter 2 where you get points for beating up a car at the dockside until it falls apart. Appropriate sound effects were even added, but having Lesnar throw a few pixelated fireballs would have been a nice inclusion, too. For the significantly longer, original version, check out the one embedded below. After Lesnar crushes the CTS, the actual wrestling does eventually ensue. The Caddy even briefly acts as a prop for some of the action.
