Information about the builder:
Mallet Cars was founded in 1997 by 26 year racing veterans, Chuck and Lance Mallett, with the goal of
producing the fastest, highest-quality signature series of C5 Corvettes available anywhere. Following the
success of the C5 venture, Chuck and Lance added the C6 Corvette, Cadillacs V series models, and V8
Pontiac Solstice and V8 Saturn Sky options to their lineup.
This car was #006 for 2005. The build included the following:

That is over $22,600 in performance upgrades alone, on top of the ~$51,000 price for the vehicle itself
when new!
As mentioned, this car has the optional Mallett Wheels, of which there were reportedly only 25 sets
produced. Considered to be one of the best looking wheels for a first generation CTS-V, these one piece
forged wheels feature a durable finish and strong, light weight construction. These wheels alone still sell
for $2-3,000 on the rare occasion that they come up for sale.
- At just over 33,000 miles from new, this car is in excellent condition. The exterior has been very
well cared for, as has the interior. The interior is free from any rips, stains, damage, or excessive
wear. The exterior is very good as well, with the paint being in quite good shape, aside from one
small blemish on the front bumper, as shown in the pictures. Overall it shows very well.
Mechanically, the car is very sound:
- Runs great; no drivability issues.
- According to Chuck Mallett, this car put 438hp to the rear wheels after receiving its
modifications. That calculates to approximately 503hp at the crankshaft.
- This car was under extended warranty until early this spring, and so has always had any required service done in a very timely manner.
- Everything works on the car, exactly as it should. No issues or surprises.
- Car has had the oil changed religiously every 3,000 miles. Mobil 1 synthetic only.
issues taken care of in a prompt and through fashion.
- Window tint is 2% all the way around.
While under warranty, the rear differential was upgraded to the fourth and best
revision of the design, due to the original unit developing a slight whine as so many of the early versions are prone to do.
- Full dealer service records are available.
Current owner has owned the car since 2008, at which point it had 11,700 miles on it. It has never seen
snow, and has only been caught in the rain a handful of times. Very well cared for, always stored during
winter, etc.

Cadillac CT6 styling will be evolutionary, not like Elmiraj
Wed, Dec 17 2014Well, this is at least a little disappointing. It turns out Cadillac's long-awaited flagship, the CT6, won't be ushering in a wholesale change in the company's design. That's coming from GM Design guru Ed Welburn, meaning it should be taken as gospel (unless of course he's just trying to hoodwink us). "It'll be different and it will certainly stand out in the portfolio," Welburn told Automotive News. "But you won't see a real shift in direction." Instead, Art and Science will be shown in yet another new form, and will "continue to evolve," according to Welburn, although what that means is unclear. What we can say for certain, though, is that Art and Science on the CT6 will not evolve into the stunning Elmiraj Concept. "I think Elmiraj was more of an influence on some other things we're working on for Cadillac," Welburn said, we're guessing with a smirk and an air of mystery. Considering we have yet to see the CT6, it's hard to tell whether this will be good news or bad, although based on the critical reception to the Elmiraj, we're a little bit disappointed by Welburn's statements. Still, only time will tell whether the styling of the CT6 will really work out.
Cadillac president de Nysschen says electrification coming 'across the spectrum'
Thu, Jan 22 2015We like to pick on new Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen for his insistence, many years ago, when he was president of Audi of America, that plug-in vehicles are for idiots. Listening to him give the keynote address at the Washington Auto Show today, you wouldn't know he ever said anything negative about an electric vehicle. Instead, he sounds something like a EV-angelist. De Nysschen said that Cadillac will be able to benefit from GM's considerable expertise in plug-in technology, which he said would be "applied across the spectrum of our portfolio." GM's electric committment will help in "making electrification commonplace." With the plug-in ELR already on the road, de Nysschen said that the company's next step in advancing powertrains will be the introduction of stop/start technology which de Nysschen called an "important system to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions" Β into a Cadillac for the first time later this year. Without giving any specific details, de Nysschen said that Cadillac will introduce eight new models (not necessarily plug-ins) by the end of this decade, including five that "will take Cadillac into market segments where the brand is not even present today." These new vehicles will likely be much lighter than today's vehicles, de Nysschen said, because "weight reduction today is critical to automotive design, it helps to improve fuel efficiency and contributes to desireable vehicle dynamics." The key is to reduce weight without compromising safety or comfort and to use the right material Β steel, aluminum, carbon fiber Β in the right place at the right time. It was a not-so-subtle jab at Ford and its new aluminum F-150. "In the pursuit of weight reduction, some manufacturers have also opted for abandoning steel and have gone for an all-aluminum approach," he said. "At Cadillac, we believe that different materials each present particular advantages in specific applications. There is no single material that represents the optimum balance of the conflicting objectives of every single application." Related video:
GM follows Ford and Honda in skipping SEMA
Fri, May 20 2022The list of automakers skipping SEMA has become longer. First reported by Muscle Cars and Trucks, and confirmed to us by a company representative, General Motors will not have an official presence at the aftermarket show. It joins Ford and Honda in leaving the show. It will be a large hole in the show, with the GM brands typically filling a significant swath of available show space in one of the main halls. GM hasn't provided much explanation for the move, either. The GM representative provided Autoblog with the same statement that Muscle Cars and Trucks got: "GM has made the decision not to participate in the 2022 SEMA Show. The SEMA show has always inspired us, and accessories and performance parts remain an important part of our business." We also asked if we would see any sort of announcements around the time of the show Ford said it has plans to share some things around that time Β however, the GM representative said that the company has no immediate plans for announcements. Certainly things could change between now and the November show, though. SEMA had previously noted that other exhibitors would help fill in some of the space vacated by these major OEMs. Another OEM, Volkswagen, is returning to the show after an absence, which will also help with the display deficit.
