I'm an Allante enthusiast that's selling a fairly nice black 1993 Allante.  Black had become a pretty rare color when 1993 came around with most of these cars having been ordered in pearl white (as well as Polo Green and Pearl Red for 1993).

If you're an Allante buff like myself, this particular car is one of the first 10 1993 Allantes built, and is the very first non-pearl red 1993 Allante built.  I'm not sure if it was one of the actual Indy 500 cars as the initial production run cars were earmarked for Pace Car duties.

This car drives great, and everything works - from the A/C to the radio to the windows and power locks and pulldown motors.  The rear convertible top pulldown motor could use adjusting or replacing.  It is not a perfect car by any means -- This is simply a driver quality car that looks great from three feet away.  Car was completely repainted several years ago and looks exceptional with very few minor marks here and there.

It has 2000's Cadillac DHS wheels on them that are very nice and almost new Michelin tires on it.

Selling the car at no reserve as I have too many Allantes at the moment and this one must go. Current odometer reading is 104,180 miles, but that will increase as the car is still being driven and enjoyed.

GM to idle car production at five factories as Americans continue CUV love affair

Mon, Dec 19 2016

In case you needed another reminder that Americans have fallen out of love with sedans, General Motors today announced plans to idle five factories in January in a bid to cut its inventory to 70 days. Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly ( Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Chevrolet Volt and Impala) and Fairfax Assembly in Kansas ( Chevy Malibu) will stop production for three weeks. Lansing Grand River ( Cadillac ATS and CTS, and Chevy Camaro) is going down for two weeks, while Lordstown, OH ( Chevy Cruze) and Bowling Green, KY ( Chevy Corvette) will go idle for a week each, Automotive News reports. GM's shutdown reflects a broader problem with the company's supply – at 847,000 vehicles, the company's supply increased unsteadily from a low of 629,000 units in January of 2016. That's more than a 25 percent increase in the past year. Citing information from Autodata, The Detroit News reports that at the end of November, GM had a 168-day supply of LaCrosses, 177 days' worth of Camaro, 170 days of Corvette, 121 days for Cruze, 119 days for ATS, 132 days for CTS, and 110 days of CT6. Meanwhile, inventory of the company's more popular vehicles is actually below the professionally accepted 60- to 70-day supply, The News reports. The Trax, Colorado pickup, and GM's full-size SUVs are sitting below 50 days and experiencing year-over-year sales increases. GM needs a rethink of its inventory levels, which is something that's apparently coming. "We're going to be responsible in managing our inventory levels," GM spokesman Jim Cain told The News. Another unnamed spokesman told Automotive News the company's day-to-day supplies would "fluctuate before moderating at year-end." But at least one analyst thinks this won't be the last time Detroit needs to stop production to level things out. "Incentives are elevated, residuals are declining, and rates are rising," Brian Johnson, an analyst with Barclays, told The News. "And while GM in particular may benefit in the months ahead from new product launches, it's important to recognize that GM's inventory is elevated at the moment, and it wouldn't surprise us if they need to announce another production cut – which could pressure the stock." Timothee Chalamet is 'Edgar Scissorhands' in Cadillac's Super Bowl commercial

Sun, Feb 7 2021

Filmmaker Tim Burton's 1990s classic "Edward Scissorhands" explored the unusual challenges of a boy who had scissors for hands. One challenge that was not touched on in the original film was that of driving a car. For its Super Bowl commercial, Cadillac revisits the theme, and the brand's Super Cruise hands-free driving feature proves perfectly suited to "Edgar Scissorhands," another young man with scissors for hands. Playing Edgar is Timothee Chalamet, reprising the role that Johnny Depp made famous as Edward. Edgar's mother is portrayed by Winona Ryder. While Edgar's unique hands do give him some special talents — he makes one heck of an artful salad, for instance — they present a challenge in many others, such as playing football. A virtual reality headset affords Edgar the ability to drive, and that gives his mother an idea. She presents him with a Cadillac Lyriq, the not-yet-on-sale EV crossover. Edgar sets the button to activate Super Cruise, and the Lyriq steers itself. The perfect solution for someone with scissors for hands. Why feature a vehicle that doesn't go on sale until late 2022 when Super Cruise is available in other Cadillac models now? The answer seems to be that GM is using its Super Bowl commercials to also showcase its pivot to EVs. Certainly, that's the theme of "No Way, Norway," which stars Will Ferrell along with the Lyriq and the Hummer EV.   Related Video:

Daily Driver: 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Sedan

Tue, Oct 13 2015

Daily Driver videos are micro-reviews of vehicles in the Autoblog press fleet, reviewed by the staffers that drive them every day. Today's Daily Driver features the 2016 Cadillac ATS-V sedan, reviewed by David Gluckman. You can watch the video above or read a transcript below. And don't forget to watch more Autoblog videos at /videos. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Hey, it's David Gluckman with another Daily Driver. Today I'm driving a 2016 Cadillac ATS-V. This is the sedan model and it has the optional eight-speed automatic transmission. The ATS-V is the small performance car in Cadillac's lineup. It sits below the CTS-V, which is also new for 2016. Ever since the base ATS came out a few years ago, this has always been a wonderful chassis in search of a great engine to compliment it. This car really changes that. [00:00:30] They've dialed up the chassis, the suspension is a little stiffer, the body is even stiffer, and they've put this really nice 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 engine under the hood. In terms of power and torque, the new V6 outguns it's main bogey, the BMW M3 and M4. The Cadillac engine puts out 464 horsepower and 445 pound feet of torque, which is tons. [00:01:00] The one issue, though, is the way it delivers that power. It's not as smooth as the BMW and there's a bit of turbo lag that you really don't feel in the German engine. Once you get moving, however, this engine really just wakes up. There's no lag once you're at highway speed. You can floor it and there's plenty of power and torque for easy passes and runup to extra-legal speeds. [00:01:30] It's tons of fun there but around town it just kind of lacks a little bit of the smoothness and responsiveness that we're kind of expecting for a car in this class. The engine does sound pretty nice, though. It has this nice little growl when you start it up and when you get on it, it actually sounds more like a supercharged engine than a turbocharged one. It's a little strange, I think that's maybe some active noise cancellation that Cadillac is doing to cancel out the whooshes and whirs that we're used to from a turbocharger. [00:02:00] That's fine with me. Whatever it is, it sounds good. This car gets the same fancy rear limited-slip differential that the Corvette introduced a couple years ago. It does a really good job of keeping everything manageable. You almost can't tell that the car has 464 horsepower. It keeps everything in line.
