Up for NO RESRVE is a beautiful triple black 1992 Cadillac Allante! With exceptionally low miles, this work of art shows it has been maintained thoroughly and properly cared for. The previous owner really did take pride in this masterpiece. It was pleasing to see everything is still original and so perfectly preserved, just for you! The Allante was only manufactured from 1987 to 1983 with only 21,000 made. The Allante was Cadillac’s answer to the Jaguar XJS, and the Mercedes-Benz SL. The story about the Allante’s assembly line is true. The roadsters body was designed and manufactured in Italy (explaining the Pininfarina emblem on the front fender). The bodies were shipped on a special Boeing 747 plane to be assembled with the American made chassis and engine at Cadillac’s assembly plant in Detroit, 4,600 miles away. The 1992 model was a great year for Cadillac. This particular model was $58,965 brand new. The digital gauge cluster was optional at an additional $495. This was the last year for the high end, popular, multi-adjustable Recaro seats. INTERIOR: The sleek charcoal black interior is all in great shape. This car does not show stress from time or from driving. The leather was all in excellent shape. The seats are very comfortable and there is a lot of room. I noticed that all the digital gauges work as they should. The radio sounds like its high end and the power antenna still works. A car of this age usually has a broken or stripped gear causing the antenna not to work. The A/C system is honestly debatable; it was about 50 degrees when I drove the vehicle. I am positive it works. The air was blowing cold and hard but was warm when selected. I pushed every button and turned every dial and everything appeared to be in perfectly working order. There is a factory CD player and tape deck in this Cadillac! There is a very minor imperfection on the right side of the radio; there is a section of trim that is not fully adhered. I was tempted to fix it myself, but I know there are purists out there that would not appreciate it. Just a little contact adhesive would fix this as this is the only flaw on this truly unique car. EXTERIOR: You can set your expectations high on this car and it will not let you down. The beautiful, rich finish on the car is smooth and still has a deep color. I have not seen any scratches or dents. This car was garage kept and there is not a spec of any rust. The convertible top still functions flawlessly and has no rips or tares. Also very easy to operate, there are no leaks! All the accessories are still with the car. The seams are in great shape and the canvas does not look faded. The tires have great tread left and the original wheels have no damage. All of the lights are working as well as the signal indicators. MOTOR/HANDLING: The anticipation was building when I was checking the car out. I could not wait to see how this roadster would drive/handle. After a well worth 25 minute drive, as I expected, I could not form any complaints. The coupe starts right up every time and the automatic transmission shifts through the gears without any hesitations. The acceleration is very responsive but also smooth when needed. A casual 0-60 mph was great, but the car feels like it wants more. The steering feels very solid, tight, and precise but smooth and straight at the same time. Higher speeds the suspension is very comforting, the car feels like it holds its form no matter what. You don’t feel like you are being thrown around when steering hard. The Allante feels very light but solid and stiff. This car will not stress when shifting its weight through the body and frame from side to side. The brake system feels advanced, like every car should be. They are very responsive but with little back pressure, the car feels balanced the whole time. The next thing you know the car is completely stopped. At high speeds there are no vibrations from the brakes, wheels, or even suspension. The exhaust sounds original and with no leaks. There are no odors, fumes, or smoke coming from the engine bay. The Engine bay looks like it’s never been cleaned, and doesn’t need to be. The oil schedule has been recorded and is still not even ready. This was a wonderful experience and a dream to drive. This car has not been modified and its beauty is easy to see and admire. Anyone can appreciate its condition and its originality. The previous owner babied this car and drove it less than 4k miles a year, industry average is 12k-15k miles. Any high or low end car with low miles is hard to find, but in barely used condition, this Cadillac Allante is VERY rare. Black on black with a black top really suits this car well. With no repairs needed, this unique Italian sports car only needs an owner that will appreciate its rare condition, beauty and performance. If you are seriously interested, feel free to message me. I am considering real offers. Thank you for looking and happy bidding! For Maryland residents, you can take this car home same day. It is over 20 years old so it can be tagged historic. In most cases, older cars need extensive repairs to pass inspection. But in this rare case, this car had absolutely nothing wrong with it, and it is already Maryland State Inspected for you! It can be tagged regularly if desired. PA residents: The PA inspection sticker is good through 6/14! IMPORTANT

GM puts e-commerce shopping in car dashboards
Tue, Dec 5 2017DETROIT — General Motors on Tuesday said it will equip newer cars with in-dash e-commerce technology, betting it can profit as drivers order food, find fuel or reserve hotel rooms by tapping icons on the dashboard screen, instead of using smartphones while driving. GM's Marketplace technology, developed with IBM, will be uploaded automatically to about 1.9 million model-year 2017 and later vehicles starting immediately, with about 4 million vehicles across the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands equipped with the capability in the United States by the end of 2018, GM said. GM will get an undisclosed amount of revenue from merchants featured on its in-dash Marketplace, Santiago Chamorro, GM vice president for global connected customer experience, said during a briefing for reporters. Customers will not be charged for using the service or the data transmitted to and from the car while making transactions, he said. "This platform is financed by the merchants," Chamorro said. GM will get paid for placing a merchant's application on its screens, and "there's some level of revenue sharing" based on each transaction, he said. It is too soon to say how much revenue GM could realize from the Marketplace system, he said. The GM Marketplace will compete for customer clicks and revenue with hand-held smartphones, which offer a far richer array of applications than the GM system will at the outset. Amazon.com is partnering with other automakers, including Ford, to offer in-car e-commerce capability through Amazon's Alexa personal assistant system. For example, GM will launch Marketplace with just Shell and Exxon Mobil icons in the fuel category. The only restaurant available for in-car table reservations at launch is the chain TGI Fridays, GM said. In addition, there will be apps for parking, and ordering ahead at coffee shops and restaurants such as Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and Applebee's. "We will be adding more vendors," with some coming in the first quarter of 2018, Chamorro said. In addition, he said GM plans to expand integration into its vehicles of music, news and other information services. GM also hopes to use its in-car Marketplace connections to expand purchases of products and services, such as additional access to in-car wifi, from its own replacement parts business and dealer network. Customers can "expect to see more service promotions coming through the platform," Chamorro said. Reporting by Joe WhiteRelated Video:
Cadillac finds a few more horsepower for ATS-V
Wed, Mar 25 2015We've rarely found cause to complain about a car getting more power, and guess what? That's not going to change here. After initially announcing that the new ATS-V would come to market with a Corvette-matching 455 horsepower, Cadillac has come back with an SAE-certified 464 horsepower. That, as Automobile points out, puts the high-performance ATS in spitting distance of the base Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and its 469 hp. Anyone else feeling bad for owners of the 425-hp BMW M3? While the ATS-V is getting a bit more grunt, somehow, we doubt Cadillac will adjust its previously published performance figures. Expect 60 miles per hour to arrive in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 185 mph. As of this writing, a lucky Autoblog staffer is lapping the ATS-V around Circuit of the Americas in Austin as part of the sedan's big launch. So while we can't fill you in on its real-world performance just yet, expect a big update soon. Related Video:
Cadillac logo losing its wreath?
Tue, 23 Jul 2013The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.
The new logo could make its debut as early as next month on a new concept car that will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, although the report also says that it might be until 2015 before it makes its way to a production car. Even then, it doesn't like anything has been finalized yet, as the article also says that plans could still change.
As Cadillac looks to improve its global presence as a luxury automaker, the report says that a simpler logo could make it easier for designers to incorporate the badge onto the car - either in the grille or above the grille (possibly in a fashion similar to Mercedes-Benz). Head on over to the AN article, which shows the Cadillac logo dating back to its earliest design.
