1972 BUICK GS STAGE 1: RESTORED TO A GSX TRIBUTE
1972 Buick GS Stage 1- GSX Tribute 350/350 Restored, Rally’s Hood Tach.
This is a clean and restored 1972 Buick GS Stage 1 that has been turned into a GSX Tribute vehicle. This car is the real-deal, numbers matching Buick GS Stage 1. The "GSX" package was added to the car at the time of the restoration so this should really be considered a clone or tribute car. This rare factory GS Stage 1, features the correct fully functional "Ram Air" hood with functional scoops, a fully functional hood mounted tachometer, the correct GSX rear spoiler and of course the correct stripes, decals and emblems including the correct GSX grill and dash emblems.
The Buick is in great condition overall and runs and drives great. Will need some minor things addressed at some point if you want a perfect car. The car was restored over 10 years ago and although it still looks great, there are minor issues with the paint work that are worth notating. For example, there is a small dent in the passenger front fender that chipped off the paint and there is some minor bubbling just above the rear wheel wells, bottom of one door and some other minor spots. The car also has several small nicks and chips in the paint from the past ten years of usage. None of the above mentioned effects the function of the vehicle and there are no actual holes in the body, but the car is not completely flawless and it's an older restoration. The paint is still very bright and shiny.
The vinyl seats are power although not currently hooked up. At the time of restoration, the carpet was replaced, the dash pad recovered, a new wiring harness was installed as was a new headliner. The car has factory power steering and power disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, manual windows, manual door locks. The factory installed A/C is still in the car although not currently functioning. All other components of the A/C system are there (compressor, accumulator, evaporator, and condenser) so getting the A/C functioning again should be fairly simple. Fuel gauge not working but a new sending unit is included with the sale.
.
The motor is the correct, number matching small block 350-4 backed by the original TH-350 automatic transmission. The car retains all of its correct factory components with the exception of an Holly 650CFM carburetor. A new battery has been installed along with new rotors new brakes on all four corners, four shocks, four brand new BFG Radial T/A tires. The car starts with a simple tap of the starter and truly has great street manors. The motor runs smoothly and very strong and the transmission shifts through all the gears as it should. Both the motor and transmission were rebuilt at the time of the restoration although the exact mileage is unknown. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere!
.
The windshield wipers are currently not working. I have not spent any time trying to diagnose the problem; it may simply be a blown fuse. The speedometer cable is not currently plugged into the back of the cluster. There are aftermarket oil pressure, water temp and voltage gauges that all work as they should.
If you have any questions or would like to see the car in person, please call 904-268-1356. Will consider all offers, cash plus trades , please emails pictures and information about your trade. Seller reserves the right to end this auction at any time.

Buick unveils new Verano hatchback in Guangzhou
Mon, Nov 23 2015This is a Buick Verano. We know, it doesn't look like a Verano – or at least not the version we get here. In fact it looks more like the new Opel Astra with a Buick grille. Which makes sense, because that's pretty much what it is. The vehicle you're looking at is the new Buick Verano Hatchback, unveiled just days ago at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China – arguably the only market that matters as much to the brand as the United States. Like the sedan revealed this past April in Shanghai, the hatchback is a newer model than the US-market version, based on the new Opel Astra, but with that signature waterfall grille. Otherwise, it looks virtually identical to the version sold as an Opel in Europe and a Vauxhall in the UK. Buick will be offering two versions of the Verano hatch in China. The base model pairs a 1.5-liter inline four good for 117 horsepower and 108 pound-feet of torque to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The sportier Verano GS packs a more potent version of the same engine, rated at 166 hp and 184 pound-feet and paired to a seven-speed DSG. That's enough to propel it to 62 in 8.8 seconds, but displacing less than 1.6 liters, both versions come in under the Chinese tax threshold so they're taxed 50-percent less. Between the Verano and Astra, we've now seen this new model in three different body-styles being sold in markets around the world. The sedans, hatchbacks, and wagons seem to be proliferating like so many jackrabbits, but keep hopping away just out of reach. So here's hoping that the next leap it takes will be to US showrooms. The five variants of the two newest members of the Verano family are priced from RMB 145,900 to RMB 205,900. Buick's 740 dealerships across China have begun accepting pre-orders. The new Verano models have trendy, sporty styling along with European car-like handling, premium interiors and advanced technology. They are targeted at younger trend-setting consumers who are looking for a driving experience that is "born with sportiness." Stylish and sporty exterior The Verano Hatchback and Verano GS have adopted Buick's latest design language for sport sedans. The brand's signature waterfall grille has taken on a creative frameless design, with a newly added piano black finish.
Buick Envision aces IIHS crash tests
Tue, Sep 27 2016If you had any qualms about the safety of a Chinese-built car, set them aside. At least when it comes to the Buick Envision. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has tested the new GM crossover and it passed with flying colors. The Envision is the first Chinese-built Buick sold in the States, and it's also the first Chinese-built car the organization has ever tested. In what is an impressive feat for any new automobile, it earned the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating. This means the crossover comes equipped with a forward collision warning system and earned "Good" marks in all types of collisions, including the difficult small overlap crash test. In addition to the forward collision warning system, an automatic emergency braking system is available on the Envision. Eleven other vehicles earned the TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, including models from Volvo, Lincoln, Acura, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus and Infiniti. That's good company, and combined with a pleasant, if not world-beating, driving experience, should make the Envision a car worth consideration. Related Video:
Junkyard Gem: 1986 Buick Riviera
Sat, Nov 25 2023The Buick Riviera personal luxury coupe attained monstrous proportions by the middle 1970s, scaling in at well over 4,500 pounds by 1976. After spending 1977 and 1978 as sibling to the Chevy Caprice, the Riviera then moved to the front-wheel-drive platform used by the Cadillac Eldorado and Oldsmobile Toronado, staying there through the 1985 model year. The Riviera world became a lot more interesting for the 1986 model year, when a smaller and more sophisticated generation hit showrooms with curvier lines and electronic gadgetry straight out of science fiction. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of those cars, found in a self-service boneyard in Phoenix, Arizona. What makes this car such a fascinating bit of automotive history is this dash-mounted touchscreen interface, known as the Graphic Control Center. The 1986 Riviera was the first GM vehicle to get the GCC, which means it was the first production car in history with a factory-installed touchscreen display. This system became available in the Buick Reatta and the Oldsmobile Toronado a few years later. The GCC used a cathode-ray tube screen sourced from an ATM manufacturer, which ran on 120VAC power and required an inverter and dangerous high-voltage wiring inside the dash. It was used to operate the HVAC, the radio and the trip computer, as well as to display operating and diagnostic information. The system used numerous bulky components in addition to the dash screen; I've extracted a couple of complete sets of GCC components over the years and plan to build them into a junkyard-parts boombox. As it turned out, the senior-citizen-heavy demographic of Buick shoppers didn't feel great enthusiasm for the GCC and there wasn't a huge sales payoff for this revolutionary technology. That didn't stop GM from introducing the first mass-produced cars with head-up displays a couple of years later. The running gear wasn't quite as sophisticated as the GCC. The 1986-1993 Rivieras got old-fashioned 3.8-liter Buick V6s under their hoods; the one in this car was rated at 140 horsepower and 200 pound-feet. If you wanted a manual transmission in your '86 Rivvie, you were out of luck. A four-speed automatic was mandatory equipment. Note the unusual face-loading cassette deck in front of the shifter; the AM/FM radio was a remote-controlled unit living inside the center console. The MSRP for this car was $19,831, or about $55,691 in 2023 dollars.
