1971 Buick Skylark GS clone
Been Garage kept and maintained for the 12 years I've owned it. 90% finished, needs new paint job, small minor body work, new registration and re-chroming on bumpers to bring the hi-performance muscle car to mint condition and value around 15K. Car is rust free with no corrosion
455 Motor is immaculate along the the TH-400 tranny set up with the reverse valve body Hurst quick shift set-up for fast shifting that will churp your tires between each gear. THIS CAR IS VERY FAST WITH LOTS OF TORQUE
Engine block has all after market springs, lifters, rockers, cam, pistons and manifolds and the transmission is set up with hi performance sprags to be sure the gears can handle the horse power without ripping them apart. Hooker headers, Flowmaster duel exhaust, Holley 4 barrel carb
Brand new, white vinyl top, black vinyl interior, black carpet and racing seats with racing harness seat belts. Racing Alloys with good tires can also include 20' chrome wires for additional 1K. Wood grain steering wheel
I just had the engine and transmission set up appraised by Gilbertson Automotive who build these cars and he felt very comfortable telling me 6K for both. I basically added 2K on top for the rest of the car because it does need minor work and paint. The custom "cranberry" paint was beautiful at one point if into keeping it the same color, changes from red to a crazy purple when its sunny then night time.

GM recalling 1.5M cars in China for faulty bracket
Fri, 27 Dec 2013General Motors and its Chinese partners have announced their second recall in the People's Republic this year, following a 2,653-unit recall of the Cadillac SRX earlier this year. This latest recall affects nearly 1.5 million cars built between 2006 and 2012. It's not explicitly stated, but as there's no movement from the US NHTSA, we suspect that the cars in question were all Chinese-built rather than imports.
The vast majority of the affected vehicles are Buick Excelles (pictured), with 1.2 million units being recalled over a faulty bracket that's meant to secure the fuel pump. The Excelles in question were built between 2006 and 2012, while an additional 250,000 Chevrolet Sail superminis, built between April 2009 and October 2011, are being recalled for a similar reason.
According to the PRC's Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the faulty bracket could crack and potentially cause a fuel leak.
Buick Riviera Concept debuts in China
Fri, 19 Apr 2013It's nighttime in China, and Buick has just concluded an evening event the day before the first - and only - press day of the Shanghai Motor Show. The star of this evening's party was the Buick Riviera concept vehicle, a plug-in electric hybrid coupe that the automaker says gives a glimpse at its future design direction, not to mention resurrecting some nomenclature from the brand's history that includes a similarly named concept from 2007.
The shape of the Riviera is said to be inspired by water. While the traditional Buick "waterfall" grille is present, the front end gains a more aggressive note thanks to what appear to be vertical air inlets below each headlight.
As for the concept's drivetrain, Buick says it uses General Motors' new dual-mode wireless plug-in hybrid electric vehicle propulsion system, or W-PHEV for short. The keyword there is 'wireless,' as the Riviera can charge its onboard battery packs with a traditional cable or wirelessly via a "sensory recharge panel" underneath the car.
Buick dusting off Grand National, GNX and T-Type nameplates
Mon, 26 Nov 2012Inside Line reports Buick is planning to bring back some of the more storied names from the company's past, including the Grand National, GNX and the T-Type. Those cars rose to prominence in the 1970s and '80s to become performance legends of their day.
The new models will reportedly make use of the rear-wheel drive platform that currently underpins the Cadillac ATS and all would arrive as sedans - according to an unnamed source familiar with the initiative. Odds are the T-Type and the Grand National would share a driveline, with honest money being on a new twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 as the engine of choice. Word has it the mill will be good for anywhere from 350 to 400 horsepower.
That leaves only the GNX. Inside Line seems to think that machine could get down the road with some help from the all-new GM LT1 small-block V8. The engineers behind the ATS platform have already told us the engine bay is large enough for to accommodate the big eight pot, and since GM is most certainly working on an ATS-V, a slightly less powerful, less luxurious Buick iteration makes some kind of sense. We can't wait to see these things in the light of day.
