1969 Buick Skylark from Fla.showing less than 12,000 miles. (last owner claimed correct mileage but being sold as un documented) As you can see the average resale price for this car is over 14k as a number # 3/ Average and with the GS cloned being over 17k. This car is in a solid # 3 condition and I can supply the insurance valuation and also the replacement value. The drive-train appears to be totally original with a dual exhaust that was added to the 350 V8. It was originally 230 HP and now is closer to 250 HP. It comes with the GS rims that are on it and the original Hubcaps and all the original glovebox documentation. You could take this to a GS 350 level with a hood and air cleaner. This year GS 350 had bench seat not buckets as the GS 400 had. We really don’t know the history but we were told that this car came out of a collection outside of buffalo n.y. It has been stored in a heated garage for the last 16 years and started and run every month. I actually went thru the car and it has good wheel cylinders.brakes, tuneup, fan belts, battery, plug wire, tires, radio works so do all the lights and it is clean! Drives good and it doesn't shake rattle and roll. Exterior The car is finished in what is proposed to be its original color on the exterior (12 years ago) and looks good with the coat of wax on it. It does have the usual nicks and a couple of bubbles at the drivers door. On pass rear quarter there are some outward pin dents from jack i think(see pictures)I haven’t really looked this over as well as I usually do because I didn’t pick this car out. The paint took wax good and will be sufficient, till you decide to paint it again. The Buick appears to have new or re- chromed bumpers and trim. It is not a perfect car but it is a good driver quality. There are 3 bumps on the pass quarter that look to be caused by the jack in the trunk ( please look at pictures) Interior It does have a PPG replacement seat covers and door panels but the rear seat armrest are still original and need to be replaced or stained. They are in good shape but are not the bright white the rest of the interior is(see pictures). All the gauges work except the lighter and it needs to be replaced. The radio dials are missing and I am looking for them. The radio works fine. The Buick has seatbelts and carpet and they are in good shape. The top is electric and works well, It needs a little help when it is being raised from the down position and has the cover. Trunk / Engine Trunk has been sprayed with splatter paint and has Jack and spare in place. Engine has a tuneup, oil change and the following new parts as told by the previous owner. New aluminum radiator New water-pump New power top (Original color and design) that works great Newer radial tires Newer brakes This 69 Buick Skylark Convertible Is in average condition but is solid enough to take to the next level. It has decent bones and you will have fun driving it. Again we are selling at # 3 driver condition. So bid to own. |

Buick Encore takes a hit of Mokka to tackle Dakar
Wed, 03 Sep 2014There are many vehicles we'd consider taking racing. Even on a cross-country rally as punishing as the Dakar. But a Buick Encore? That's not one that would enter our motorsports-based consciousness. Yet it's basically what General Motors is entering in the South American rally raid this year, and you're looking at it.
Unveiled at the Moscow Motor Show, this rally machine is based on (or at least billed as) an Opel Mokka - the name that GM's European brand applies to the vehicle Americans know as the Encore, Buick's subcompact crossover. Only it's obviously been extensively modified. It's got a ten-inch raised suspension, a 137-gallon fuel tank, carbon-fiber bodywork and... hold on, we're sure we're missing something here. Oh, right: a 6.2-liter V8 kicking out 340 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox.
In other words, this is not the same Encore (or Mokka) you can pick up at your local Buick, Opel or Vauxhall dealership. It's not even close. It's not even recognizable as such, really. It was unveiled alongside a more sedate Opel Mokka Moscow Edition and a slew of other local debuts for the Opel brand that you can read more about in the (translated and original) Russian press release below.
2014 Buick Regal GS AWD
Thu, 27 Feb 2014"This is just silly," I said as I laughed my way sideways around the icy track at Circuit ICAR, a racecourse, drag strip and kart track at the Montreal-Mirabel International Airport in Quebec. It wasn't the activity that had me cracking up, though. After all, winter driving experiences aren't uncommon in this business.
No, in this particular case, it was the car that had me chuckling. I wasn't in a mad hot hatch or a rally-derived rocket - I was in a Buick. The 2014 Regal GS, to be more precise. Somehow, despite its recent product renaissance (not to mention its distant - yet storied - history of performance models), I was having a hard time believing that this attractive, turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sedan sliding around the Great White North could possibly be wearing a Tri-Shield badge on its nose.
But it was, and slide about it did. While having access to a vehicle in this setting is fairly rare, what's rarer is the fact that I've had so much exposure to it. In Mr. Ewing's recent Volkswagen Golf R drive story, for instance, his ice capades were his first experience with the new model. In my case, though, I was lucky enough to first test the refreshed Regal GS for a week back in December before flying to Quebec to drive it on the snowy, icy, winding roads of Canada's most fiercely independent province and on the track at Mirabel.
MotorWeek's 80's GM muscle coupe roundup includes Regal GN and Monte Carlo SS
Thu, Jan 29 2015Even with just four brands in the family, General Motors still represents a performance powerhouse. Between the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Camaro Z/28, Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V, The General can still deliver plenty of thrills. The 1980s, though, saw the brand go even crazier with performance. While the Camaro and Corvette were still around back in the day, GM had a number of other interesting performance offerings. The Bowtie was complemented by the long-deceased Monte Carlo SS, while the now-defunct Pontiac and Oldsmobile offered the Grand Prix and thumping 442, respectively. And Buick, which isn't short on performance with its Regal GS and Verano Turbo, offered a much more serious vehicle, in the form of the Grand National (not to mention the Darth Vader-spec GNX). MotorWeek, in its hugely entertaining retro flashbacks, looks back on these three long-lost GM performance icons, and it's just as good as you might expect.
